InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ In the End... ❯ One-Shot

Disclaimer: I don't own, so you don't sue me. ^^
A/N: I just felt in the mood for a one-shot. It looks to be in poem form, but I'm no good at rhyming so this isn't a poem (yes I know there are some poems that don't have to rhyme ^^;;) Anyways, enjoy as I continue writing more on my latest chapter on A Mission to Fulfill.
To have the right to be free in one's blood determines whether or not one should be freed.
That is the law in which the wind sorceress believes in.
To be freed, one must demonstrate and prove one is worthy to be freed.
That is the law in which the Tai youkai lord believes in.
To be freed from the harsh grasp of the cowardly bastard that tormented her...
This is the wish of the wind sorceress.
To witness her prove her worthiness with pride and determination...
This is the wish of the Tai youkai lord.
Disobeying her master, ignoring others, revealing her short fuse to all, and arguing for her right...
The wind sorceress does these without a care.
Concealing his weaknesses, rescuing an orphaned girl, helping others in the least noticeable ways...
The Tai youkai lord does these without emotion.
A heart...
...is what the wind sorceress lacks.
A smile...
...is what the Tai youkai lord lacks.
Love...
...is the furthest emotion from their minds...
In the end she receives her freedom...
...and loses something dear in turn.
As in the words of the dead priestess:
To live is to die
And to die is to live
To this, the wind sorceress proudly states in the end:
I am the wind
As free as the wind

Sesshoumaru looked up at the sunny spring sky as Sakura blossoms tumbled to the ground. A soft breeze brought a petal to his lips, gently kissing him before it fluttered to the ground.
A kiss never given and a love never revealed.
Thus is the tale of the Tai youkai lord and his love, his cherished, and his beloved- the wind sorceress.
For, in freedom she met face to face with death.
