Chapter three

"INUYASHA!" Screamed a familiar voice, he tried to ignore it but the kitsune jumped onto the hanyou's back and gave him a tight squeeze, which he remembered as a hug.

Inuyasha growled as he grabbed the fox demon by his kimono and brought him face to face, "Go away twerp!" he tossed Shippo to the ground and tried to leave before the others came. But it was already too late. "Inuyasha!" Kaede said surprised to see him again and so soon. Sango and Miroku stood at the old priestess' sides looking at him with utter disbelief that he was actually there, in front of their very own eyes.

Kirara mewed from behind Inuyasha startling him, causing him to jump, "So I see we meet again old friend." Miroku said smiling.

Sango said nothing, she stood quiet not really wanting to say anything.

Inuyasha grunted, "I didn't come to see you monk so don't get too happy, I'm here on business only."

"Business? What business?" Sango whispered so low that Inuyasha was barely able to hear.

"It doesn't concern you, or the monk, only Kaede!" He growled angrily.

"What would ye business be Inuyasha?" Kaede asked

"It's about Kikyo and its very important that I talk with you old hag!" He said glaring at Kaede.

Her eyes narrowed for she had sensed that Kikyo was close by the other day, and she was very curious to why her sister would pass by the village. "I see, come Inuyasha, we will talk."

She led Inuyasha inside the hut, followed by Miroku and Sango. Shippo and Kirara went to Kagome's grave to give her some fresh flowers they'd picked earlier. Back in the small hut Kaede made some herbal tea, and joined the others as Inuyasha cleared his throat.

"Ok, last night, I was sitting on the well…" The hanyou went into very descriptive details as he told them about how Kikyo had approached him while he was human. It took a while to explain because every few minutes or so he would stop and think. Once he finished the three of them were stunned at what the hanyou spoke of.

"Why would Kikyo do such a thing?" Miroku said frowning, he too was just as confused as Inuyasha had been. Kaede however had a pretty good idea on now and why her sister would do such a thing.

"Inuyasha," She began, "I never told you this, but after you left the night of Kagome's death, we didn't burn her like they did Kikyo all those years ago."

He looked completely dumbfounded, "But her ashes are here!"

Miroku sighed taking a sip of his tea, glancing over at Sango.

"Nay my child, they aren't." Kaede continued, "When ye left, Kagome had the Shikon no Tama still with her, and with a little help, Miroku and Sango took poor Kagome to her own time through the well, and…."

Inuyasha's eyes went wild, "And what! And what! You old hag, spit it out!"

Miroku swung at Inuyasha with his staff, and hit the hysterical hanyou on the head, "Calm down Inuyasha, go on Kaede.."

Inuyasha cracked his knuckles and growled. Kaede took a deep breath, "Yes Inuyasha, ye need to calm down. When they returned with the Shikon no Tama and no Kagome, I assumed that she had died completely. Thus, I stated she was actually dead."

"So," Inuyasha tried so hard to understand what the priestess had just told him "There's a chance that Kagome may still be alive?"

The half demon jumped to his feet hastily, "Why didn't you fucking tell me that Wench!" he didn't wait for her answer "Forget it I'm going to go and find out for myself! Where's the Shikon Jewel!"

"It no longer exists." Kaede said plainly, but Inuyasha didn't hear her because he smelled the familiar scent of somebody near by. Angrily he growled, "That fucking bitch!"

Sango looked shocked at his attitude, "Kagome is not a bitch Inuyasha--"

"I wasn't talking about her you dumb demon slayer!" Inuyasha growled as he ran out of the hut and leaped out of the village.

Not even a moment later Shippo and Kirara came into the hut breathless, "Kikyo's headed for the well, and Inuyasha is casing her!"

Kaede nodded as Sango and Miroku jumped off the ground, running after Inuyasha. "Shippo stay with Kaede! Kirara come!" Sango yelled as she dashed out the door behind Miroku. Kirara followed as she changed into her full size. Sango and Miroku jumped on to Kirara's back as she leaped into the air. Then they sped off into the direction of the bone eater's well.
