Chapter Five:

Miroku wiped the sweat off of his face as Sango and the priestess fought. Kikyou using her priestess powers and her arrows and Sango with her knowledge of battle. He was very interested in watching the two maidens battling it out 'Hmm.. Ifonly they would tear off each other's clothes instead of trying to kill each other.. Well I couldn't ask for more than two sweaty girl'sfighting.. Yes, this is very worth it.' Miroku's attitude changed as Kikyou regained control of her trustworthy bow and arrow. She pointed it at Sango's head and the monk knew that they had lost,

"Now I'm feeling very generous right now" Kikyou growled pulling back on the bow's string. "And if you don't leave right this moment and let me pass through the well, I will make sure you regret ever crossing me!"

Miroku grabbed Sango, who wouldn't back down from the priestess' challenge "Kirara come!" he yelled as he pulled Sango.

"Monk let go! I'm going to kick her ass! Slayer style for Kagome!" Sango screamed fighting to free herself from Miroku's grasp.

He wrapped his arms around Sango and climbed onto Kirara's back "this is not over Kikyou!" he yelled as the cat demon took off into the air and headed back to Kaede's village.

The impatient half demon looked around until he spied an open window. Slowly he climbed into it, making sure not to mess up anything around him. He looked at the room, he felt as though he was in heaven, for Kagome's scent wall all around him 'This must be her room' he thought.

"Hold on mama, I have to get something" a young girl said from close by.

Inuyasha stood dumbfounded 'She's ali--' his thoughts were cut short when a familiar scent came from the well, then he looked horrified "No Kikyou's here!" He hurried out the window just as Kagome entered her room.

She stopped and looked around "Inuyasha?" then she shook her head, "no it couldn't be" and she grabbed something off her dresser when she noticed a dirt print on her desk, "It is him! He's here!" she squealed and ran down the stairs.

Souta stopped her before she got to the door, "oh Kagome, mom want you! She said it's important!" the young miko sighed and slumped into the kitchen where her mother was.

Inuyasha caught sight of Kikyou as she exited the well house. He cracked his knuckles and growled "I thought I smelt something familiar, but it's just you bitch!"

"Isn't' it a good idea to greet a loved one" she smiled, putting her bow away for the time being,

Inuyasha chuckled "And where would I find this loved one Kikyou?"

She grew tired of his presence, "So I still see you haven't figured out anything yet, how predictable Inuyasha."

The hanyou face grew solemn. He was not going to let her hurt Kagome again, now that he knew she was alive. His eyes were bright and his fire was rekindled. 'How will I defeat Kikyou, but without killing her?' he thought.

Kikyou took his silence as a chance to strike his heart. Her face became soft as she walked over to Inuyasha. His whole body tensed as she crept closer. She caressed his cheek with her hand.

"Now Inuyasha" she began softly "Forget about that girl, and we can be together again. Don't refuse me Inuyasha, I know how you feel about me"

He tried not to let his barriers collapse as she touched him, he may have loved her, but she didn't share these feelings for him. He couldn't ever be with Kikyou any longer, because she was a monster. And it wasn't the priestess he fell in love with all those years ago.

"I wouldn't want to be with you even if the fucking seven hells froze over," he said grabbing Kikyou's wrist.

"Have it your way half demon!" she growled tearing her wrist from his grasp.

The priestess put her hand quickly in front of Inuyasha's face. There was a bright lavender light that burst from her palm, which shot Inuyasha, sending him flying backwards. He caught his balance before he crashed into a wall. He turned in mid air, and jumped from the side of the priestess. The hanyou's lip bled heavily before he whipped the blood from his chin, his wound had healed.

"You'll have to do better than that Kikyou, how about stepping it up a few notches" Inuyasha said.

She grinned and pulled out her bow "Oh ok if you want it that way you fool!" and arrow and aimed it at the half demon.

Quickly she released the bowstring and sent the arrow flying to Inuyasha. He barely dodged it, but she had shot another, hitting his arm. Inuyasha cried out in pain. Then Kikyou pulled out a seal. Chanting a little prayer, then she flung it at him. The seal hit the front of his kimono and with a blue mist formed around them. She laughed as Inuyasha collapsed to the ground cursing.

"You fucking wench!" he screamed.

Inuyasha tried to stand up but he couldn't move. "The seal paralyzed you Inuyasha, you can't move" The priestess laughed as she kneeled over the hanyou "And now Inuyasha, I'll leave you with one small token of my appreciation."

She pulled the sides of his hair and pulled his face close to hers "I leave you with the kiss of death Inuyasha"

Then Kikyou crushed her lips against his. The helpless half demon gasped and bit down on the priestess' lip until she recoiled back and stood up. Pulling out the last arrow that she had in her quiver, she aimed it at Inuyasha's heart. His hearts was pounding in his ears and his mind raced with thoughts

'Why'd she kiss me? Kiss.' The word lingered in his mind as she started at the tip of the arrow that a waited to pierce his body. His eyes went wide as he finally realized it.

* Flash back *

"There's one more thing," he said softly pulling Kagome close to his body. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

* End of Flash back*

Inuyasha grinned widely and looked at the priestess, who wanted to claim his life "You killed her because you were jealous!"

Kikyou grew very angry and impatient, still aiming the arrow at the half demon "where'd you come up with that decision Inuyasha?"

Kagome scurried up to her room, ignoring Souta, she closed her door and looked out the window. The young miko gaped in surprised to couldn't believe it, Inuyasha was here in the present time. But so was 'who's that girl' she thought "Kikyou" she whispered. Kagome turned away from the window "Oh Inuyasha why'd you bring her here? Was it to let her finish me off?"

She leaned against the wall and sighed heavily.

*Flash back *

She looked up at Inuyasha puzzled 'Is he saying he's letting me go? No, he wouldn't he's too stubborn' she thought watching the hanyou. The young miko could feel Inuyasha's hand on her cheek, she wanted more but didn't know what to do.

"Inuyasha?" she whispered as she placed her hand over his. 'Wow his skin's very soft' she thought. Kagome wasn't mad at him anymore, but she was very confused, 'All these mixed up signals' she had told herself.

Kagome was lost in her thoughts until Inuyasha pulled her closer to him, kissing her 'Oh my god! What's going on! He's kissing me!' her mind screamed 'Shut up and enjoy it while he's showing her cares' she scolded herself.

*End of flashback *

"Does he really care for me?" she whispered to herself confused. She fingered the scar on her chest from where the arrow hit her only a year ago. 'Why did Kikyou try and ill Inuyasha?' she thought drifting off into space until she heard him cry out. She looked out the window to see Inuyasha fall to the ground. She couldn't believe he wasn't getting up to fight against her. Get up Inuyasha, don't let her--NO! Don'tlet her kiss you Inuyasha!!' Kagome's mind screamed as though she thought he could hear her. When Kikyou pulled her bow out and aimed at Inuyasha, Kagome couldn't take it anymore.

"I have to help Inuyasha!" she said aloud as she rushed to her closet, pulling out her own bow and arrows that she'd managed to find in a store somewhere in Tokyo. Kagome climbed out her window and aimed for the priestess, and fired. 'No one's allowed to hurt my Inuyasha, only me!'
