InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ In the Eyes of Another ❯ The Truth ( Chapter 3 )
The Truth
"Who are you?" Inuyasha asked with his mouth wide open. "You can't be…." He started.
"That's right! I'm your sister, your twin to be more exact!" the woman said. She looked over at a bug-eyed Kagome. "You, young woman; you have no need to be here!" as she said this she waved her hand to the side. Kagome fell gently down and closed her eyes.
"What did you do to her?" yelled Kouga and Inuyasha in unison.
"Settle!" She barked back. "I merely put her under a spell to sleep, she shall awake within the hour…as I said she has no need to bee in this conversation," the woman said. She then turned to Kouga, "You might want to get out of here. Take the female to her companions on the other side of the woods. This fight is between me and my loving brother." She said glaring at Inuyasha.
"I'm not letting Kagome go with that wimpy wolf!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Inuyasha! Don't make kill her…I don't want human blood on my sword!" she said seriously. Inuyasha gawked at her.
"Will she really kill Kagome?" he thought. In the back of his mind he felt that the answer was yes. "Feh! Fine, take her Kouga!" Inuyasha yelled glaring at the woman. A confused Kouga picked up Kagome and ran off. The siblings stared at each other. Finally the woman spoke,
"Huh…Sesshoumaru was right," she said while shaking her head. "You are a mangy mutt! How could you be related to him?! And how could you and I share the same mother?!" She screamed in disgust. "And how could you allow yourself to be trapped by a human?!"
"How do you know about all that? I have never seen you in my life!" Inuyasha shouted back. "Who are you? What is your name? I at least want to know if you're really my sister!" he finished.
"Ha, if you must know, my name is Aruku. Whenever our mother had us, you came out an hour early. She was bombarded by stupid humans just because they found out that you were a half-demon. When she realized she was going to have twins, she almost died of fear for us. Then when she found out that I was female, she fainted. When she came to, she knew that she was going to have to give up one of us. She chose me. She knew a man in this time could survive, but a woman? She sent me to *place where Kikyou trained* for my safety. I stayed there for a hundred demon years training to be the carrier of the*name of jewel* jewel." She explained. As Inuyasha listened to her, he took in all of her features.
"She does look like me…" he thought while tilting his head. "She has the same color eyes and hair; she even has the same pissed off at the world look that to used to have. But why does she have those two purple streaks across her face? The only time I have those is when I have my full demon blood released or when I'm super pissed off at someone…but my streaks are red….also how does she know so much about our mother?" as he finished his thought she stopped talking.
"Yes," she said, "I do look a lot like you. As I said before we are twins. My face streaks only show whenever I'm pissed off also! Oh also, you must remember that we are fraternal twins, we don't have to look exactly alike." she said, smirking at Inuyasha's shocked face.
"How…how did you know what I was thinking?" he stuttered.
"It doesn't take a genius to figure that out." She smirked. "I'm a telepath. I can read minds and can control things with my brain," she said looking him strait in the eye. "I'm also an illusionist. I can make things seem like they're something else. See that tree…watch." She suddenly dropped to the ground in a meditating stance. "Watch…" she repeated as she saw Inuyasha staring at her. Inuyasha turned around to come face to face with his older brother, Sesshoumaru.
"Sess…Sesshoumaru?" Inuyasha stuttered. He walked over to the "tree". He watched as it moved and released air as if it were breathing. It had every feature that Sesshoumaru had; it even held itself as Sesshoumaru did. He put his hand on; it all of a sudden disappeared.
"No, it is not him," said Aruku. She got back up and started to brush off her dress. She looked up, "However, he is coming this way."
"How does he know that you exist but I don't?" Inuyasha asked.
"Because he helped me survive out there in the real world!" she cried. "Whenever you were running around with that filthy bitch Kikyou, I was praying to die each day. I was miserable! I hid in the shadows; hoping nobody would find me. When I heard you were still alive, I was happy for once. I had hope in a hopeless world. I thought you could help me," she said in a wishful voice. Then she glared up at Inuyasha, "Then when I heard that you were in love with that filthy soiled human bitch, I broke down!" She than looked down at the scar on her wrists and lowered her voice to a whisper, "I went into a depressed state, only wanting the pain to go away. I tried my hardest to fight it but he burning of betrayal was too fierce. I had to put an end to it. So I tried and tried again to take my life away. But by the time I could get a deep enough cut, I passed out and my half-demon body took to healing it's self. Finally I knew I must drug myself. When I was about to take the Kotuku Drug (one that takes 25 human years to make and kills any human; part or full) I was saved!" she said almost gleefully, " By the one who stands behind you," she said nodding her head in the direction behind Inuyasha. Inuyasha turned around to see Sesshoumaru.
"Feh! You think that I will believe that this tree is my half-brother?" Inuyasha asked with a smirk.
"Why Inuyasha," Sesshoumaru said with a sneer on his face, "I'm hurt! How can you believe I'm a tree?" he finished with a glare. He walked over to Aruku and put his hand on her shoulder. She was a good foot shorter than him, even with her dog ears. "I see you have finally got the privilege to meet out dear younger sister," he said with a grin. He then turned to Aruku, "How much have you told him?" he asked.
