Chapter 4

Kagome stood in utter shock. Had she just heard what she thought she heard? Inuyasha wouldn't take Kikyo? Inuyasha motioned for Kagome to sit down. Kagome sat down beside Inuyasha and stared at him still in disbelief.

"I guess you had no clue, huh?" he said with a smile looking off into the distance. Kagome gave him a confused look.

"No clue about what?" she said carefully. It seemed as though Inuyasha was finally opening up to her about something and she didn't want to blow it. For some odd reason the two had grown particularly close over the past month or so…as if they were family.

"About Kikyo and I," he said flatly. He looked at her. "Kikyo and I had a long talk a while back. She and I decided to go our separate ways. She is still a dear friend, but she and I both realize that the Kikyo I was in love with died fifty years ago. I will never have her back. It was the hardest thing for me to accept…that she was gone…but searching for the jewel shards with you helped me to realize the difference between the Kikyo back then and the Kikyo now. Even she knew the difference." He smiled. "She became quite fond of you. She told me of the times you had saved her life when I wasn't around…even though she had tried to kill you many times." Kagome blushed and looked to the ground.

"Well, I didn't see any need in telling you about them," she said modestly. Inuyasha watched her fiddle with the ground. `She is so beautiful,' he thought. `Wait! I can't think like this!' He snapped his head back to look towards the sky. He already felt as if he had shared too much with Kagome…now he was thinking things like that about her? `Shared…," he thought. `Kagome and I have shared a lot together that's for sure!' He smiled as he reminisced about all the things they had been through.

"Inuyasha?" she heard him call. He looked down to her. She had a questioning look on her face. "Are you going to finish?" He cleared his throat.

"That's it," he said abruptly. "Kikyo and I have gone our separate ways. That's all you need to know." He continued to stare into the sky. He looked at Kagome out of the corner of his eye and realized that Kagome's face was filled disappointment. She looked towards the ground.

`Why can't he be more open with me?' she thought. `Well, I guess I need to be satisfied with what I was able to get.' She sighed. Inuyasha continued to look at her out of the corner of his eye. He hated it when she acted like this. It made him feel so guilty. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Kagome noticed and looked up at him.

"Ya' tired?" she asked.

"Not really," he replied.

"I am," she said and leaned over towards him. She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Inuyasha's heart immediately began to beat at an incredible rate. He looked down at Kagome. She was so pure…so young…so beautiful. He analyzed the feelings he felt for her at the moment and found them pure and honest. He wanted to make sure that he wasn't being too lustful of her…especially at a time like this. He couldn't resist taking his hand, minding his sharp claws, and brushing his hand through her long, raven hair. Kagome's eyes flew open when she felt his touch. He had never touched her like this before and she wasn't quite sure how to react. She decided to let Inuyasha caress her tresses as long as he liked. Besides, the resulting feeling was very comforting. Inuyasha stared at Kagome. He soon moved his hand from her hair to gently cup her face and rub down her neck. Kagome could have handled the hair, but now she was sure that something was up. He rubbed her neck and shoulders receiving a slight moan from Kagome in response. Inuyasha felt himself growing hard and sexual desire began to run through his veins. `No,' he thought. `Kagome's not ready. I can't do this.' He tried to control himself. Kagome surprisingly seemed to enjoy his caresses. He rubbed her face and neck and then down to her shoulders. Kagome couldn't resist it any more.

"Inuyasha?" she asked giving him a questioning look. He stared into her eyes, but it was a stare unlike Kagome had ever received from him before. She didn't know what was going on.

"Are…Are you okay?" she stammered. He smiled softly and ran a hand through her hair.

"Yeah," he responded with the same soft smile adorning his face. Inuyasha had never treated Kagome this way. She had to admit that she had longed for him to…but now that he was doing it, she was questioning his motivation. Inuyasha and Kagome stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds. Before either of them realized it, they were leaning towards each other, both enveloped in the other's eyes. Soon, their lips were mere centimeters apart.

"Kagome," Inuyasha moaned before taking her lips into a chaste kiss. Kagome was caught off guard by the sudden kiss, but released her self into it nonetheless. A warm feeling enveloped their bodies as they finally allowed themselves their first true, passionate kiss. Inuyasha massaged the back of Kagome's neck with one hand while the other gripped around her waist tightly. Kagome had both hands planted on his chest. Kagome felt herself melting into the kiss more and more by the very second. Inuyasha's hormones began to rage. All of his feelings for Kagome finally came to the surface. He truly cared for her…even loved her. Inuyasha's tongue soon pushed its way into Kagome's mouth caressing every part of Kagome's mouth. The kiss soon began to intensify. Their tongue wrestling soon became an all out war. Finally, Inuyasha released himself from the kiss with panting heavily. Kagome felt as if she couldn't move as Inuyasha attacked her neck with kisses. She was getting so turned on by the kisses he planted all over her neck. Kagome gasped when he gently pushed her back to the ground so he could be on top of her and continue his rain of kisses.

"Inuyasha," she moaned as ran her fingers through his hair. Inuyasha couldn't take it any more. He wanted to be with her…be one with her. He had wanted to take her as his mate for so long, but now there was nothing to fear. He had to have her.

He gently leaned up to her ear and whispered, "I want you." Kagome looked at him. She looked into his eyes searching for his feelings. Kagome found love, honesty, and warmth in his eyes. She smiled. She had wanted to be with Inuyasha for forever. Now was her opportunity. She was too turned on to tell him no. She couldn't take it any more either.

"I want you, too," she whispered into his ear as she gently scratched behind it. Inuyasha's blood went coursing through his veins. She had said yes. She had accepted him. His body immediately began to react. He started kissing all over her as Kagome moaned in response. He continued to do this a little while longer until he was just before losing control. He was so turned on that he just wanted to rip her skirt off and go at it right then and there, but he knew Kagome would want a little foreplay. Kagome, meanwhile, squirmed beneath him. She glanced up at him.

`What was that?!' she thought. She could have sworn she saw a flash of red in his eyes.

*flash*

`There it was again!' she thought. The mood suddenly began to change as well. Inuyasha was becoming progressively more aggressive.

"Um…Inuyasha," she stuttered fearfully. "I changed my mind. I don't think I am ready for this quite yet." He didn't respond and continued to sexually assault her body. His face was shielded from view by his hair.

"Inuyasha?" she called again. He looked up at her and she gasped. His eyes had turned completely red.
