In the Midst of War
Chapter 1:The Messenger
A young woman stood on a cliff, long legs spread apart, open, arms crossed, watching the sun set. Her wavy dark-raven colored hair flew in the wind. Her blue and green eyes let no emotion through. Her face was one of a true beauty. No man could go by without gasping at her sight. She wore a midnight blue skintight outfit with a black sash, her hair loose. She wore no lip rouge or any of the occasional wear of regular women. She wore boots that were like a second skin but tough at the same time. Her clothes were made of fire rats dyed fur/skin.
She spoke nothing but two words as she watched the sun set. " Damn it." Another young lady appeared this one wore black with a pink sash and a large boomerang tied to her back. "What is it Kagome?" the one called Kagome regarded the lady even though it was just a glance. "The Western Lord's troops are near. To near for my comfort. I know that if we do not begin to head out again we will be forced to fight. The western troops have fought everyone and everything in their path. I doubt they will spare us. Most of all when they figure out we have the full jewel." The young lady that had sat besides Kagome gasped, she could now see the troops and also see the speed that they were traveling at. " Sango." The lady was snapped back into focus. "Yes Kagome-sama?" "Are there still many injured?" "Yes, there are many injured most of them nearly curd but still unable to do anything without receiving pain." Kagome moved her head to look at Sango. " How many will be able to fight?" Sango thought for a moment or two. " We have 57 that can fight. Mostly women. For some reason they heal faster." "Go. Order them to get into formation. Tell them to be ready to attack, for battle...Code 5 lady Sango. Code 5." Sango got up, legs akimbo hand on hips and bowed then she ran towards the small traveling village to tell them the message. Kagome returned to her original position. Slowly loosening the hidden daggers at her wrist. Quickly she unsheathed a dagger turned to her left, aimed and threw it. She heard a satisfying gasp, then a grunt. Her lips slid into a small smile. " Come on out. You are from the Western troops, are you not?" "..." Her brows pulled together into a frown. She approached the supposedly man that was hidden. " You are a spy I can tell, so don't try to deify it. Go back to your camp and once there tell them what I tell you to say. Listen well. Go back don't come if you come their will be bloodshed of your troop. I do not speak foolishly I know who you are Lord Sessohmaru. Lord Inuyasha. Go back. Do not come in pursuit of what you can not have. What is not rightfully yours! Leave. We will not harm you.
Tell them this. Go you may leave." " Miss the Lords... they'll want... to know your name." " have you heard of my name? The Devils daughter. She who has died three times and each time the devil has spat her back. I have no rest. I have no true life. Go." The messenger left in a hurry leaving behind him a trail of blood.
