Hay guys. I know this is late again, but this time I have a REALLY good reason why. About two days after I uploaded the last chapter my phone line was cut off, which as you all know means no internet, and my mom is kinda flat broke so it took awhile before she could turn it back on. Trust me I tried everything to get her to focus on the getting the phone line back but there was other things she had to do first. I almost died man! All this time without internet? I just stared at my computer alllllllllllll day long (and wrote of course) and gave my mom the puppy dog eyes and annoyed her all day about it, and it finally paid off! Anyway enough talking (or typing) ON WITH THE CHAPTER!

In the Mirror: chapter five. A day to play

She'd make a good mate? What the fuck is this guy up to? He doesn't honestly think I'm going to let him take her just like that does he? Well if so then he's in for a big shock. I stood there with the tetsusaiga in front of me ready to attack the minute that this 'Shizuka' character tried to go after Kagome. Specking of Kagome, her and Sango looked like they just had a glimpse of a god. Okay so the guy didn't look like most youkai but come on, he wasn't THAT good looking. Of course I'm specking from a guys point of view so I just don't see what they see. The only thing I see is an over confident Jake ass with bad hire and a gay outfit.

 

`'What do you what with the miko anyway hanyou? You have no clam on the girl that I can see or smell, so she should not be any concern of yours. So why not let the girl come with me and save your self the trouble of dieing so young?'' He has no clue who he's talking to dose he? I might not have a physical clam on her but I have more right to her then any other male out there, and he'll die before he even touches her.

 

`'Besides, from what I can tell you already belong to the dead one, so why deny Kagome the happiness she deserves?'' I'm going to kill that basterd.

 

`'Who the hell are you?! And how the hell do you know Kagome's name and Kikyo?'' I was going to snap any minute. I could feel the youkai in me starting to rise. Has this guy been spying on us or something? Oh is he in for an ass wiping.

 

`'I'm a friend of your miko, she sent me to kill the girl and get the remaining jewel shards, but like I said before, now that I've seen her I have no desire to kill her. No, not kill, just the opposite.'' His lustful eye's and smirk told me excakly what he had in mind as he stared at her.

 

This was not happening.

 

I was NOT going lose her to some youkai that wanted her for her ability to see the jewel shards and her body. Not after all these years of protecting her. Every memory I had with her in it came rushing back to me. Good and bad. The times she sat me for making her mad, the times she sat me to save my life, the times she left me to go home, when she came back to me, when she pulled my ears, when she rubbed them (though she'll never know that I liked that), when she cried for me, dressed my wounds, every little thing she had don for me flashed in front of my eyes.

 

I didn't recognize my voice when I spoke.

 

`'You'll die before you even get within five feet of her.'' He smirked at me; somehow I knew he was mocking me, daring me to make the first move. I almost did to, but I managed to control my self.

 

`'Care to test that theory hanyou?'' Oh you bet your ass I do.

 

`'Come and get me ass hole.'' There, that should get his attention. He moved faster then I expected him to, and I got a face full of knuckles.

 

Yep, I got his attention.

 

I saw Miroku and Sango getting ready to fight out of the corner of my eye as I slid to a stop on the ground. Good, hopefully they know to stay out of this and protect Kagome. Wait a minute, where the hell is Shippo? Oh great now I have to kick this guys ass, find out what Kikyo was thinking when she sent him after us AND find the runt.

 

This just isn't my day.

 

I got back to my feet and charged at him, my tetsusaiga in full swing. I swung to the left, he dogged to the right. I swung to the right, he dogged to the left. Figures. It went on like that for a good five to ten minutes before I finally landed a hit on his left leg. He didn't like that too much.

 

`'I guess I underestimated you hanyou, you might be a worthy opponent after all.'' He smirked again, I know the first thing I'm going to do after I kill him, I'm going to rip his lips off. Sound good to you? Because it dose to me.

 

`'Inuyasha hurry up! I can't find Shippo!'' Ah I see that Kagome has come out of her trance like sate. About fucking time. Good thing to, because her yell distracted Shizuka long enough for me to land a blow. I put a nice big hole right in his right shoulder with the tetsusaiga. He yelled and fell to the ground.

 

It was my turn to smirk.

 

`'For having a mouth that size you sure don't know how to back it up. My brother fights better then you, and I've beaten him more times then I can count.'' Okay so only four or five times, but he doesn't have to know that. I stood over him about to make the final strike when he smiled again. He's REALLY starting to piss me off. Okay now he's laughing. That's it; I'm cutting his head off.

 

`'I guess I better stop playing around then.'' Playing around? What the hell is he talking about? I went to bring down the tetsusaiga when he just disappeared. Where the hell is he? Just as the question crossed my mind I heard Sango yell.

 

`'Kagome!'' I turned around to see her in Shizuka's arms, but the funny thing about that was that she wasn't struggling to get away from him. She almost looked like she was enjoying it. She has to be under a spell, there's no other explanation for it.

 

`'You basterd! Let her go!'' I yelled.

 

`'Come and make me, besides she looks perfectly happy where she is, don't you think?'' He asked me. Kagome did have a smile on her face, but we've been in this kind of situation before, she's been controlled way more then once in the past so I know that look in her eyes. Dull. No life in them what so ever, and that definitely was NOT Kagome so all I have to do is kill the basterd and the spell should be broken. At lest, that's the way we've done it in the past.

 

`'What kind of youkai are you anyway? And what kind of spell did you put on her, because I know her too well to think that she'd actually want to go with you.'' He ran his fingers through her hair and she leaned back into his touch.

 

`'Easy enough, I'm a seducing youkai, my powers find the one thing that the person wants in the whole world and makes an illation for them to live in until I, or my employer, sees it fit to kill them. In this case Kagome sees me as the man she's in love with, so she dose not fight to get away from me. So like I said before, why deny her the happiness she deserves?''

 

`'How the hell do you know that she's happier in some make-believe world?''

 

`'Because the buffoon she's in love with is already in love with someone else, She can not have you in real life but she can in her dream land, and I do not intend to kill her so why not end this now and let her come with me and be happy?''

 

Did he just say `you'? No, she isn't, she can't be.

 

`'Don't look so shocked hanyou, you must have known somewhere in that puny little mind of yours how she felt, or are you really that blind?''

 

I knew, I just didn't want to. Not after everything that happened with Kikyo, I didn't want Kagome to have the same fate as her, because somewhere along the line some youkai or human would decide that I didn't deserve her and take her way. Or use her to hurt me.

 

I don't care how much she loves me, or how much I care about her, I'm not putting her through that.

 

But I'm sure as hell not going to let this basterd take her.
