Tsubaki didn't want to retreat, but she could tell that she wasn't going to win the battle. That Kagome was strong, and she knew that her chances were slim with just her. But with all of them, it would be impossible. So she left. Not with out leaving them a present. She pulled some strands and blew them into the direction of the group. Just then a fleet of snakes came from all directions attacking the five travelers.

“I hope they will enjoy my gift.” She thought as she walked off.

The attack didn't surprise them at all. Kikyou with her arrows were shooting the creatures with ease. Inuyasha and his two companions were slashing them with their claws. With them distracted, they didn't realize that Kagome went off in the direction of their attacker.

Kagome hastily followed Tsubaki. She knew the direction the woman went for the trees, and bushes opened a path for her to follow. She knew deep in her heart that she needed to continue her journey alone. The trees seem to be leading her deeper into the forest and into an area she had never traveled. `If Kikyou said was true, then the forest will protect me, and I can save Kanna myself.' She thought.

`Who was that Kikyou person anyway?' she thought to herself. She could tell that Inuyasha and the woman in question had a past. The question was what kind of past that confused her. `I can't worry about her right now; I just know that I need to deal with saving Kanna first.'

In Japan

Kohaku just got off the phone with forensic specialist and looked at his boss. “They said that the blood belongs to a human, they still have to do more testing to see if it belongs to Mrs. Arachna.”

Myoga shook his head. “What is your take on this? So far we kept from the news, but it's a matter of hours before the Mayor will be exposed. Do you think he did it?”

“Hell yes! You tried to keep me quite this morning about the coke; I now know in my heart that he did something.” Kohaku snarled.

“Son, calm down, we have to seriously think about this. We really don't have proof that he did anything-“

“We have his prints, anyone can see how the traces of blood everywhere showed a struggle, and we still didn't find his car. That bastard killed his wife.”

Myoga nodded. The young man before him was furious, and he needed him to calm down. So he said. “We can't afford any mistakes Kohaku. You and Kilala need to work together and find all that you can. If he did it….”

“He did it” The Lt. replied.

“If he did it, we need to make sure his lawyer can't help him. Just remember what I said earlier Lt. as you're superior and as a friend, be careful, he is a very dangerous man, and he has friends higher then both of us. Do you understand me? I also don't want you interviewed at all when this hits the streets. Do I make myself clear Lt.?”

“Crystal.”

“Good. Don't let my down my boy.” Myoga said as he dismissed him.

Kohaku left the office in a hurry. He pulled his cell to call his partner, when he spotted her heading to his direction.

“Kohaku, hurry I just got the call stating they found Mr. Arachna's car by at Buyo's boardwalk.” Kilala said.

“This just keeps getting better and better doesn't it?” He grinned as the two headed to the garage.

Elsewhere in Japan

Miroku kept his phone off all day. He didn't know what to make of what he just saw; he just knew that he had to do something about it. As if God read his heart, he was given a special gift. That gift was currently lying in his bed unconscious.

He thought at first that his obsession with Sango Arachna would get him killed. He had known idea that his behavior actually saved her life.

-Flashback-

Miroku just got done talking to his buddy at the police station, when he noticed that Naraku had taken Sango's car to work. Sure he knew it wasn't a good idea to be spying on them, but he couldn't help it. Ever since he met Sango, he could get his mind off of her.

He started following her around. Most of the time, she was at one of many charity functions. He was impressed with her kindness and generosity. Today was no different. He planned on following her yet again. So he waited.

He could tell when she heading to the car, that she was limping and gripping her shoulder. `What the….is she hurt.' He thought as he continued to watch her. She slowly backed out of the driveway and drove off. When she pulled out of the end of the driveway, he noticed that she threw out what appeared to be a knife covered with something and a cordless phone?

“What the hell is she up to?” he said out loud as lowered the binoculars and walked up to his car. It would be a matter of time before her car would pass his, and he didn't want to lose her.

After driving for about a half hour, Miroku found himself at an abandon boardwalk of a beach. Because of the weather, no one went to this side of the beach. He purposely sped past the car so he could hide his from her.

Once he parked his, he ran down the walk in search for the object of his obsession. What he found almost killed him. `No, she's trying to kill her self.'

The next thing Miroku knew, he was in the water saving the woman that haunted his dreams. Because she already past out she was really easy to save. Once out of the water, he immediately went to check her pulse. “Good, your still alive.” He said out loud and he then carried her to his car.

-End of flashback.-

He sat there watching Sango sleep. After pulling a few strings he got one of his buddies, who happened to be a doctor to treat her. She lost a lot of blood, but she would survive. He only had one question on his mind. Why did she do it?

Miroku decided that it was best if no one knew of his findings. After all, why would he want Naraku to have he when he wanted her to himself? `She didn't seem happy with the bastard anyway.'

“I promise Sango not to leave your side.” Miroku whispered to the woman as he continued to watch her.
