Fire raged all around. Beads of sweat pooled on the flame licked skin. Inuyasha could bearly see from the heat. What was going on. Shouldn't he be dead? Why was he still alive? Was it really the fire-rat cloth he wore that kept him alive? What about Asagi? She hadn't woke up yet. Kanade had explained the history and purpose of the Island all to save the children. She told him of how the 4 War Gods had came and slaughtered everyone. She even told him of why the War Gods needed the half-demon children. Why half-demons? How can their energy sustain the Gods? Kanade made one request: for Inuyasha to protect the children. Did she really expect him to put his life on the line for these children. No, his only thoughts were to get off the island. That means he was only thinking of destroying the War Gods. That was all and nothing more. But to destroy the war Gods would bring peace to the children so Kanade accepted it. Asagi started to stir and woke.

"See that, Asagi? We are going to get out of here now," Inuyasha said to the now conscious child.

"You mean I can actually keep living?" Asagi asked looking up at the strong half-demon.

"Don't make it sound like I'm giving you permission!" Inuyahsa replied appauled at her remark.

Kanade gave him the jeweled comb box explaining that the power spheres of the Gods were inside. He should never open it she warned. Did she think he was a fool to unlease the Gods full power? Well he didn't plan on that. He was going to destroy the whole box. First, though, he was going to have to get Asagi and himself out of the this sweltering cauldron. So with the cauldron door cracked thanks to Kagome, Shippo, and the rest, he was his Tetsusiga to break open the door. That was easy. Almost too easy he thought after Kanade gave him what was left of her power. Finally after so long of being in the cauldron, he stepped out of the rubble into the cool air with Asagi nestled against him.

"Unbelievable! Doesnt Inuyasha know the meaning of restrant?" Miroku questioned.

"Man, it's nice and cool out here!" Inuyasha exclaimed. At least Inuyasha and Asagi were ok. Now they could all worry about destroying the 4 War Gods.
