“How many damn stairs does this guy have?” panted Inuyasha as he climbed what felt like the millionth step. Sweat came down the inu's forehead, which he quickly wiped off, trying not to show Amimi how tired he was.
“Awww…Quit your whining Inuyasha. We're almost there…” replied the kitsune, walking steadily on the steps. Amimi looked below her and noticed Inuyasha struggling. She waited a bit and sighed, looking at the view.
“You must admit Inuyasha…” she panted as she walked over another step. “These stairs are really steep…it's more like climbing a ladder than actual stairs…”
Inuyasha snorted. “Look who's complaining now…” As they continued to ascend up the mountain, the stairs became harder and harder to climb and pretty soon, they had to use their hands. When Inuyasha took another step, the step below his foot crumbed, sending him falling towards the ground.
“Gotcha,” said Amimi, grabbing Inuyasha's wrist. His weight almost made her slip, but she was able to pull him towards a step. The kitsune continued to climb, wanting a simple `Thank you' to come out of the inu hanyou's mouth. All he did was snort and continued to climb below her.
“You know I would appreciate a simple `Thanks,'” she finally blurted out, having trouble on the next stone step. “Including when that was the 5th time I had to save your helpless ass…”
“I don't do `Thank you's'” he muttered, wanting to cross his arms, but in this situation, it was impossible. “Did I just hear you curse?”
Amimi ignored that last question. “Did I just hear you say it?”
“No.”
“I'm pretty sure I did…” she grinned. The kitsune continued to climb until she got to a certain step. It began to crumb so she tried to reach for the next one, but unfortunly, it crumbed too. She lost her balance and fell a few steps, until Inuyasha opened one of his arms and caught her. Amimi blushed instantly, but so did Inuyasha.
He looked away. “There…We're even for the time being…” he told her, helping her up to grab a step.
“Thanks…” she said softly as she climbed up the `staircase' like on a rock climbing wall. He blushed and continued to follow up behind her.

“We're….finally……here…” panted Amimi as she fell where the land was now flat. Inuyasha climbed over her and fell on top of her. He put his head on her back to rest.
“Yeah…” he sighed with relief as he almost fell asleep on her. The kitsune's face turned bright red as Inuyasha snuggled on her back.
“Er….Sleep time later...” she told him as she pulled herself from under Inuyasha. “We have to meet Fujitaka…”
The inu hanyou nodded and stood right up. He helped Amimi up and they walked toward the front door. The huge, 10 foot, gold plated, front door stood up tall. Amimi knocked on the door and it immediately opened. It creaked so loudly that the two had to cover their sensitive ears since they felt like they were about to pop. The kitsune and inu walked through the hallway and looked at the beautifully crafted porcelain vases and statues. They stared in awe at the marble, not wooden, hallway and the high ceilings.
A small man came into view. He was old, weak, and looked to be 60 years old. His kimono, on the other hand, was woven from the finest silk and his cane was carved from the healthiest tree, embedded with rubies and sapphires.
Inuyasha crossed his arms and snorted. “Rich people make me sick…” he mumbled, but got nudged in the waist by Amimi's elbow.
“You must be Fujitaka…” said the kitsune looking at the man.
“And you must be Amimi…” replied Fujitaka.
“How do yo-?”
“So…You don't remember your old friend, Shinobu?” he asked as he looked at Amimi in the eyes. The kitsune's ears perked up.
“Shinobu?! Is that you?!” she cried, running towards the old man, sqeezing him in a hug. Fujitaka grinned and patted her on the butt. The kitsune winced and let go of the man. Inuyasha looked away.
“You haven't changed one bit have you Shinobu?” she smiled, rubbing her butt. Inuyasha looked and quickly turned bright red. Shinobu nodded.
“You haven't either…So, Amimi, I haven't seen you in awhile…Where have you been?”
The kitsune's head drooped. “To tell you the truth, Inuyasha found me in a cave near here…”
Shinobu looked at Inuyasha. “So this goat saved you?”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING A GOAT OLD MAN!?” he shouted as he walked over to the two. Amimi had to stop the inu hanyou from beating the crud out of Shinobu.
“He doesn't have a sense of humor towards himself, Shinobu…” she told him, putting her hands on his chest to keep him from coming any closer. Amimi went up to his ear, struggling from doing two things at once, including like this.
“Calm down…” the kitsune whispered softly in his ear, moving her hands to his shoulders, trying her best to help him relax.
The inu hanyou blushed, relaxing his shoulders so they turned into a slouch. He nodded and stood up straight. Shinobu laughed, his kimono moving with his laughter.
“You working your magic on him, Amimi?” he snickered as he moved closer towards the two. Amimi blushed bright red as she removed her hands from his shoulders and put them in front of her.
Shinobu smiled. “Let's go to the living room and have some tea. It's more comfortable than standing here…”
