This is also an extremely short chapter.. I'm sorry!

'So. My parents return. My duties to that village our over. Let my father protects the humans he so favors.'

The quarter-youkai was sitting in a tree, as he often did. His brown eyes staring into space. But there was an expectant gleam in them. He was waiting for something.. Or someone.

His dog-ears twitched, footsteps approaching. Taut muscles in the brute's broad shoulders relaxed, he breathed deeply, his eyes glazing over slightly. There was a heavenly scent in the air.

'She came.' he thought, leaping from the tree and landing softly on the ground.

A she-wolf youkai stood in the moonlight, human-formed, with hair dark black with traces of silver, and brilliant green eyes.

"Mokusei." he breathed, his brown eyes eagerly taking in the vision of loveliness before him.

Yes, The part demon son of Inuyasha and Kagome was in love with a wolf demoness. His stony facade had been broken. His icy heart meltened. But only for this creature. Not even with his sister was he as relaxed.

He approached, and she stepped into his embrace. He nuzzled her neck lovingly and she whimpered little love whines into his ears.

But the moment was not to last, Kikyo emerged from the trees moments later, her face grim.

Koga whirled to glare at her. "You know better than to disturb me, Sister." he said coldly. Mokusei put a comforting hand on his shoulder and his posture gentled. He was a puppy around her, and she was the master. If she said jump; he asked how high, fling himself off a bridge; no problem. He was bound to her.

"What is it, pack-sister?" Mokusei asked, her brilliant eyes sparkling curiously.

"Mother and Father grow suspicious, Koga." Kikyo said softly. "He smelled her on you, and recognised her scent as being part of your namesake's. The wolf Kouga."

Koga the part dog spat bitterly at the ground. 'How could I of been so stupid?!' he growled mentally.

"Does he come?"

"No, Mother holds him back. But your secrets won't be safe for long."

"Keh. My secret will remain so."

At this point Mokusei gently broke in. "We can go to the North, love. My father's pack has moved to the forest, where they used to dwell. There is an empty mountain territory. We can rule there. Neither of our parents have to know." she said, her eyes glowing. The idea of being a queen was very enticing to any wolf-youkai. They were creatures dominated by pack-law. And to rule their own pack was every youngster's dream. As the daughter of the Wolf Prince that dream was an easy reality for someone like Moksei. And the idea of Koga the quarter dog demon being her king was even more alluring.

The two's meeting was an interesting lovesong. At first their relationship had been rocky and rough like Inuyasha and Kagome's. But over time Mokusei's fiery temper (only when aroused) softened his heart. He came to care for her, and delighted in making her mad. Then, one night while spying on her he'd realized his pranks had gone too far. He'd seen her crying in the moonlight, and was moved by the gentler side of her. He came to love it too. That was a year ago.

Her father, The Wolf Kouga, would be furious if he knew of her lover. And Inuyasha likewise. He hated Wolves. And hated The Wolf Prince above all of them.

"Run if you wish. Father will only follow. And as soon as Koga-wolf finds out about who rules one of the northern territory he will come and try to kill you, Koga. And Mokusei you will be shamed."

"Maybe they will understand?" the wolfess whined hopefully.

"More than likely they will not."

"Keh. I don't give a damn what our parents think. Mokusei, I love you. We're mates, you have my mark." he lovingly brushed the silverish scar on her neck with a calloused finger. "There is nothing they can do. We're married, in human terms. In Youkai-law our souls are bound. Not even in death can they drive us apart." Koga said gruffly, crossing his arms across his chest. "We can leave tonight Kikyou, mask our scent through the water. Dad will just think I went missing."

"Can you truly leave them behind?" Kikyou said softly, sadly. "Can you leave us behind.. Me behind?"

Koga remained impassive. But his heart fluttered. Never seeing his mother again.. Or his father. The twins. And Kikyou. They were his first loves. His family. Dog-youkai are very bound to family. "I am willing to throw it away for her." he said softly. "That is the sacrifice I make to keep her. I am in love, Sister."

Mokusei nuzzled his shoulder tenderly. "Koga.. I know it's hard. But think of the new life that awaits us! We can have pups! Dozens of pups! They and I will fill the emptiness in your heart for your family. Come now.. Come with me."

Mokusei whined coaxingly, stepping slowly in the woods and pausing every so often to look back and lure him onwards.

Koga looked at Kikyou and his eyes gentled. "Forgive me, Sister. I go where my love is, she is my heart, she leads me." And with that he dashed off into the night.

Kikyou watched them go in silence. She sighed softly. "Stupid fool." she muttered beneath her breath. "Is it because I am female that I can see it? That she-wolf is playing him.. What does the Wolf Prince have planned?"

Kikyou shouldered her bow and followed after the trail of Koga and Mokusei.
