Chapter 3


“That dog-boy is gonna pay!!” Kouga nearly screamed. Ginta and Hakkaku had been sent to spy on Kagome and Inuyasha. Kouga still hasn’t found a mate and has been wanting to know where Kagome was…..what Inuyasha was doing to his woman.
“That’s it! I’m gonna shove his face in the ground and make him eat the dirt beneath him!” Kouga screamed.
“What do you want us to do, Kouga?” said Hakkaku shaking as the leader wolf demon paced the den. Ginta was just standing there speechless.


“Miroku, I think I have finally gotten over what Inuyasha is doing to Kagome” Sango said calmly. “Now to put it into action, I just need to see Inuyasha without hurting him.”
“Sango, I know why Inuyasha is acting so soft yet so harsh lately. Though, I don’t know if I’m right or not.” Miroku said.
“Oh pray, do tell. I wanna see his pitiful excuse for acting like he is.” Sango said heatedly.
“It’s quite simple really. I don’t know why I didn’t see it before. For youki, it’s just the beginning of mating season. Humans wouldn’t know of this because of the simple fact that they don’t care.” Miroku explained. Sango stared wide-eyed. Her mouth had dropped and Miroku had to push it back up.
“Oh boy. Miroku, do you know what this means? If Inuyasha is in mating season then….what about Kouga?” Sango thought about it over and over. ‘What would Kouga do to Kagome? He’s been in love with her ever since he met her. I wonder what he is capable of?’


Inuyasha came through the well and sat by a nearby tree. ‘Kagome looked so angry with me today. Baka! She’ll never be your mate.’ Inuyasha bonked himself on the head. Suddenly, Inuyasha jerked his head towards the sky and sniffed. He knew that scent only too well. “Damn wolf! What does he want?” Inuyasha growled.

Kouga ran towards Inuyasha and tried to kick him but Iunyasha was too fast. “Get over here, dog turd!! I’m gonna kill you when when I get a hold of you! What have you done with Kagome?” Kouga kept lunging for Inuuyasha.
“How did you know about Kagome, ya mangy wolf!!” yelled Inuyasha almost taking Kouga’s head off.
“I sent Ginta and Hakkaku to spy on her so that way I would know what you’re doing to her” Kouga explained. “And it doesn’t look like your winning Kagome’s heart. A very bad start for trying to get her to even consider of being your mate, dog breath.” Mate. That word echoed through Inuyasha’s ears. Without realizing it, Kouga lunged for him and put a big gash on his arm.
“And what are you tryin’ to do, huh? Gonna win Kagome over before I do?” Inuyasha said sarcastically.
“What’re you talkin’ about. She’s already my woman; I just need to mark her.” Kouga said simply.
“The hell you are!! If she’s gonna mate anyone, it’s gonna be me!!” Inuyasha yelled and started to slash at Kouga with his claws. Kouga started dodging left and right out of Inuyasha’s reach. They continued fighting until day’s end when Kouga finally ran to his den. ‘That mutt won’t get my woman!’ Kouga thought as he ran.
“Damn wolf!! He’s not getting my Kagome.” ‘His Kagome’ he thought.
He walked over to the well and jumped into it. Inuyasha saw the familiar blue shining light as he crossed over worlds. As soon as he got out of the well, he ran straight towards Kagome’s room. He jumped onto the tree branch that led him to her window. As he crawled inside, he saw a tired looking Kagome asleep on her bed. Inuyasha quietly walked over to her bed and put a hand on her hair, stroking it gently. ‘She looks even more beautiful when she’s sleeping.’ He thought. “hmmm….Inuyasha…no…” Kagome said in her sleep. ‘She’s dreaming about me?’ he thought with a puzzled look. “Inu…yasha…no..please….don’t leave…me..” ‘Don’t worry Kagome. I’m not going anywhere.’ he told her silently, hoping that she would hear. “Don’t…leave me….Inuyasha…” There was a worried look on her face while she slept, tears swelling in her closed eyes. Inuyasha wiped them away, careful not to wake her. ‘She’s dreaming that I have left her and won’t come back. It’s not true Kagome and you should know that,’ he thought helplessly.

“Inu..yasha…I...I…love..you..” Kagome said softly, eyes still closed. Inuyasha stared at her dumb foundedly. ‘Sh-she….loves me?’ he thought with confused eyes and a confused face. Inuyasha kept staring at her, admiring her beauty. Kagome tilted her head and twitched her eyes. Inuyasha slowly moved his head toward Kagome. He wanted her. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. Inuyasha brung his lips to Kagome’s and trailed his tongue along her lips, begging for entrance. He softly pushed his lips against hers forming a gentle kiss. As he pulled away, he smiled at the raven-haired girl. “I love you too, Kagome.” He said softly yet sweetly. Inuyasha got up and walked towards the window. As he was just about to climb through, something caught his eye. Inuyasha tip-toed over to Kagome’s desk to find a piece of paper with a drawing on it. ‘Soon Kagome. Soon I will make you my mate.’ He thought. Without anything else to say or think, he jumped through the window and through the well with the same blue shimmer that greeted him with each passing.
