Chapter 10


“Ouch! Ohhh, I think I have a headache.” Kagome moaned. She saw her ripped kimono and realized she was naked under her purple silk bed sheets. Kagome got up and walked to her bathroom. As she turned on the water, she noticed in the mirror that she was wearing Inuyasha’s and Sesshomaru’s necklace and saw that she had numerous cuts and bruises. She shook her head as she lied down in the warm water but shivered as the water stung her cuts. ‘What happened last night? All I remember is finding out that I was a hanyou; I was talking with Inuyasha, and then nothing. I have to find Inuyasha.’ Kagome dried herself and walked to her wardrobe. As she walked, she felt a slight pain in between her legs but ignored it. She chose a white and red kimono that looks like Sesshomaru’s only this kimono looked a little less graceful and a little softer. Kagome put it on and called Ayame. The servant came through the door and walked towards Kagome.

“Yes Kagome? You called for me?”

“Ayame, you don’t think differently of me, do you? I just feel that now I’m a hanyou, you wouldn’t like to be my friend anymore. I know it’s a little childish for asking but now that I’m half demon, well, I just want to know.” Kagome said quietly.

“I will always think of you as my friend Kagome. I would never think differently.”

“Arigato Ayame. Now I must ask you one more thing. Where is Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.

“I haven’t seen him since this morning, Kagome. I can take you to Lord Sesshomaru and you may ask him.” Ayame suggested.

“Arigato Ayame. Take me to him.” Both walked out of the room and headed for the garden. Ayame left her alone with Sesshomaru as Kagome walked toward Sesshomaru with grace.

“Yes Kagome?” he said suddenly.

“My lord, I wish to know where Inuyasha is. I must ask him something.” She said quietly.

“Inuyasha is at his village telling all of your friends of your change.” He said coldly. “What is it that you wish to ask?”

“My lord, Inuyasha and I were talking about my transformation when, I think I blacked out for some reason. That’s all I remember. I don’t know how I got these scratches and bruises at all. Did Sensei Kohaku challenge me to another test?” Kagome explained. Sesshomaru lowered his head.

‘So, she didn’t know she rutted Inuyasha. Her demon side must have taken over, but how?’ He looked at her necklace and wondered. ‘I wonder if that necklace is the only thing keeping Kagome’s demon side under control, like Tetsuseiga does with Inuyasha. I’m guessing they both were out of control.’ “Kagome, hand me your sun/moon necklace.” Sesshomaru stood up and walked right in front of her and took the necklace. He waited until he saw a flash of crimson in her eyes and immediately put the necklace back on her.

“I know exactly what happened but I want Inuyasha to tell you. He knows every detail whereas I do not. I will have you sent to the village so that way you may cross over to your time and tell your mother of your change. I will supply a ring that will tell humans that you are human but if any demon sees you, they will see you as I see you know. When you reach the village, you may talk with Inuyasha. Your newly advanced speed should get you there by mid day. Now go. Make sure you are back here when you are finished with your business.” Sesshomaru instructed. As Kagome started to turn around, she saw the sun/moon symbol on his neck.

‘That mark looks exactly like mine.’ She thought to herself as she left. Kagome dashed past trees and was amazed at how fast she could move. Like Sesshomaru predicted, she arrived by mid day and saw Miroku and Sango sitting by the river. Kagome watched them as she moved towards them and suddenly heard a loud slap followed by Sango’s angry voice.

“HENTAI!!!” Kagome laughed and shook her head as Sango finally noticed her and ran towards her.

“Kagome-chan! I was so worried. Inuyasha came and told us of your transformation and I guess he wasn’t lying. I’ve missed you so much.” Sango cried.

“I’ve missed you too, Sango. After my business here is done, I must return to Sesshomaru’s Palace. I will send word to you as soon as I convince Sesshomaru to let you and Miroku stay with me. I’m so alone there and I only have one new friend. Listen, I must go and see Inuyasha about something. I’ll see you as soon as I can.” Kagome said happily.

“You should go see him. He’s been acting so strange lately. Ever since he came back he’s been keeping to himself. Kami, he never insults Miroku anymore, even when he is being his lecherous self.”

‘Now why would Inuyasha be acting that strange. I’ve got to go talk to him.’ Kagome said her good byes and headed toward Goshinokbu. She looked up in the tree and saw a silver and red stop perched onto Goshinokbu’s branches. She jumped from branch to branch until she landed in front of Inuyasha. He looked at her and smiled. As Inuyasha turned his head, Kagome noticed the mark and his neck just like hers and Sesshomarus.

“Inuyasha, I need to speak with you. All I remember is that I was talking to you and then nothing. Inuyasha, I need to know what happened last night. I don’t even know how I got these cuts.” Kagome explained. She looked at Inuyasha and found that she caught his attention.

“I know. Before I tell you, promise me that you won’t be upset at me. It wasn’t my fault.” Inuyasha warned.

“I promise.” She confirmed.

“You took off your necklace and your demon side took over. You came onto me and threw the Tetsuseiga away from my side so that way my demon would take over me. After that we ummm…..we uhhh….” Inuyasha trailed away as he watched Kagome. Kagome looked shocked. Inuyasha continued. “And this is the strangest part. I have been marked by you. I’m sure you’ve noticed your mark on my neck.”

“And what does that mean?” she asked curiously.

“It’s a mating mark. It means that you have chosen me as you mate.”

‘Oh boy. That means Sesshomaru is my mate too. I have a feeling that Inuyasha is not going to like this.’ She thought worriedly. “Inuyasha, umm, I have something to tell you. When I asked Sesshomaru to come here, I well, I spotted the same mark on his neck.” Kagome waited for Inuyasha’s answer.

“Wait! What? Kagome, I don’t think you’ve fully healed all of the way. I don’t remember Sesshomaru being there! Oops!” Inuyasha said as he covered his mouth with his hand.

“You can be just as a letch as Miroku ya know that.” Kagome scolded. “No. Sesshomaru was never there. I think it appeared on his neck when I marked you.” ‘The only reason why I would mark Inuyasha is that I love him. Oh no! I wanted both of them and I love both of them. Then that means they’re both my mate. This could turn out to be a good thing.’

Inuyasha saw Kagome smile a wicked smile. ‘I don’t like the way she’s smiling like that.’ He thought. “Kagome, what are you thinking?” he asked curiously. Inuyasha’s voice brought Kagome back to reality.

‘What do I do? Should I tell him the truth, ahh, it’s not that big of a deal.’ “I was just thinking that since Sesshomaru and you have the mark, maybe you’re both my mate. I mean the only way I would mark you is that I truly love you. What if the same thing happened to Sesshomaru?” Kagome said. Inuyasha’s jaw dropped as he just stared at her.

“What?” she said suspiciously.

“Both of us, your mate? I can understand perfectly that I’m your mate but Sesshomaru?” Inuyasha laughed and almost fell out of the tree. Kagome turned scarlet and yelled.

“What? I can’t even think that! Besides, what if I’m right? I know Sesshomaru loves me. Inuyasha, I’m starting to get the feeling that you’re jealous of Sesshomaru.” This time he really did fall out of the tree and landed on his back. Kagome jumped out of the tree and landed on her feet right in front of Inuyasha.

“Me jealous? What’re you talking about? I’m not jealous of mister sensitive!” Inuyasha yelled.

“Whatever. I don’t have time for this. I have to see my mom.” Kagome walked away. Shocked by the sudden truce, Inuyasha stared after her.

“But……But……But.......” he muttered.

“Good bye Inuyasha. Maybe when you decide to be serious you can come and talk to me about it.” Kagome yelled over her shoulder. She saw the Bone Eater’s well in front of her when she smelled Inuyasha running behind her. ‘Hee. I knew he would come after me.’ Kagome laughed in her head as Inuyasha jumped in front of her.

“Okay, Okay. Maybe you’re right. Do you love him?”

“What?”

“Do you love him?”

“I don’t understand.”

“Well it’s a simple question. Do ya love the guy or not?” he said irritated.

“I love you Inuyasha, but I love him too.” Kagome said quietly.

‘Aww man. Now I have to share her.’ Inuyasha thought sadly.

“What’s wrong?” Kagome asked.

“Huh? Oh nothing. I was just thinking.”

“Inuyasha, thinking?” Kagome said laughing.

“Yeah, yeah. Very funny.”

“Okay, what’s really wrong?” Kagome asked returning to her normal color as she stopped laughing.

“I told ya it’s nothing.” Inuyasha repeated.

“Oh come on! I can smell your emotions remember. Aggravation had a lot to do with it.” Kagome explained.

“That is, how you say, for me to know and you to find out.” He said simply.

“Oh I’ll find out alright. And your going to be the one to tell me.”

“And what if I don’t?”

“Then I’ll make you.” She said forcefully. Inuyasha looked into her eyes and saw a flash of red in them.

‘Okay I’m gonna tell her. There is no way I can handle her in her demon form again. Last time she wore me out. I can’t take that anymore.’ He thought. “Okay. I was just thinking that now I have to share you with Sesshomaru. I hate sharing especially you.” Inuyasha said as he blushed scarlet.

“Was that all? Oh Inuyasha, I was more worried that you two weren’t going to agree with it.” Kagome chuckled. “Well, now that we have that settled, I must go and see mother. She must be worried sick now.” She started toward the well when she was stopped by a hand that grabbed hers and pulled her towards him for a kiss. Kagome pulled away and smiled. She turned around and jumped into the well. When she got to her time, she put on her ring and walked out. Kagome’s mother spotted her and came towards her.

“Kagome, your home! What kept you so long, I thought you weren’t coming back.” Kagome’s mother worried.

‘Well at least the ring works.’ She thought. “Mama, I must tell you something. Walk with me inside.” Kagome’s mother followed Kagome into the living room. She sat down as did her mother. “I have changed while I was there. I’m not the Kagome you know on the outside anymore.” She explained.

“I don’t understand.”

“It’s hard to explain. That’s why I’m going to show you.” Kagome said as she stood up. She took off her ring and looked at her mother. Her mother saw Kagome’s outside change entirely. She watched her hair grow to her feet and turn silver and black. She saw Kagome’s eyes change as well as her new fangs. More importantly she saw the symbol on Kagome’s forehead.

“Kagome, what are you?”

“Mom, I’m an Inu-hanyou. I’m half demon.” Just when Kagome admitted it, Souta ran in and looked at his sister.

“Kagome?” he stared at her for a moment. Suddenly, Souta shouted with joy. “Cool!! Now I have a half demon for a sister.”

“Souta, you can’t tell any of you friends. Do you promise?” Souta stopped bouncing around and looked at Kagome sadly.

“Aww man. Okay I promise.” Souta agreed.

“Mama, Souta, I must go now. Tell jii-chan of my change. I will visit soon. I love you.” Kagome said as she put on her ring. She left the house and jumped down the well, then crawled out to the other side. She started towards Sesshomaru’s palace but smelled him nearby. ‘That’s strange. Why would he be here?’ she thought as she walked towards the smell. As she was walking, she hid her scent and came to a little stream that she knew only too well. She watched the two talk from a tree above.

“I don’t know. What if Kagome doesn’t agree?” Sesshomaru asked.

“Sesshomaru, you must be deaf in both ears. Kagome is glad to have two mates. She even told me so.” Inuyasha explained. Sesshomaru growled at the insult. “Look, Kagome wants both of us. She told me that she loves me and she told me that she loves you as well. I even saw her wicked grin when she thought about the good side of having two mates.” Inuyasha tried to explain.

“Okay, Inuyasha. I’ll do it. But so help me if she doesn’t agree. Let the blood bond ritual begin.” Sesshomaru announced.
