Kagome promised Sesshoumaru she would return quickly, she giggled to herself as Sesshoumaru gave her his stern but gentle be careful looks. Kagome kissed her mate and their pup goodbye as she set out alone for fresh fruit. Kagome loved those two dearly.


Inuyasha kissed Kikyou’s forehead gently as she slept soundly. She was so sweet and beautiful when she slept. They were expecting their first child any day now. Inuyasha decided to catch some fish for that night’s supper. He turned back and looked at his mate once more.


The sun kissed Kagome’s face warmly, as she danced through a field of wild flowers. She thought of Sesshoumaru and their child as she began picking flowers for them.

Inuyasha could smell the aroma of flowers and wanted to surprise Kikyou with a bouquet of flowers when she woke up. He made his way to the field.

Kagome crouched down picking a beautiful assortment of flowers, she stood up and turned to see two sad, golden eyes staring back at her.

Inuyasha looked into the brown eyes of the girl he loved for years.Kagome. She smelled of flowers and sweet honey. He had no idea she was there, until he saw her silky raven hair that cascaded gracefully over her shoulders. He remembered a time when he ran his fingers through the soft strands, and how her scent would linger on his hands for days.

Kagome wanted to cry the man she loved once was the brother of her mate. She remember fighting besides him years before. She remembered crying when they parted ways, the nights spent in each others arms the sweet kisses they shared.

They seemed to stare at each other forever.


Fed up with my destiny, to the place of no return
think I’ll take another day, and slowly watch it burn
doesn’t really matter how the time goes by
cause I still remember you and I
my beautiful goodbye.



Kagome could feel her heart burn with forgotten desires for the hanyou. Inuyasha stepped closer to her, Kagome could feel the heat from his body caress her skin.



I Stack up to these empty streets, laughing all along
the night had made a mess of me, but confessions can do more
I don’t really miss you I just need to know, do you ever think of you and I
my beautiful goodbye.



Inuyasha’s eyes stung as he gazed upon the face of this beautiful woman, he wanted his lips to touch hers once more. Slowly Inuyasha touched to softly milky skin of Kagome’s cheek. Pulling her closer, he felt relaxed and natural. He gently wiped a lone tear from the corner of her sad, wanting eyes. He wanted to say so much, but she softly placed a delicate finger over his lips. Inuyasha knew they were well past words.

if I’ve let you down, please forgive me now
for that beautiful goodbye.


Kagome pressed her face into Inuyasha’s chest as he wrapped his arms protectively around her. She took in his scent and sighed deeply. She wondered about his life and what could have been if they remained together. She could see the smiling faces of their children, and she imagined the quiet nights where she and Inuyasha would lay out in the grass and star gaze in each others arms.



In these days of no regrets, I keep mine to myself
and all the things we never said, I can save for someone else
and nothing lasts forever, but we always try
and I just can’t help but wonder why, we let it pass us by.



Inuyasha tried to remember the last time he and Kagome stood in a sweet embrace. All his thoughts were overwhelmed by Kagome’s sweet scent. He wanted to stay like that forever. Then he saw the face of Kikyou, and he wondered what she would think if he never came back.

Kagome wished she and Inuyasha could ran away from that place. She wished they could go and live in some far off land where no one could find them. But then the faces of Sesshoumaru and their son appeared through the darkness and she thought of the overwhelming love she felt for them.



Baby what can I do, oh to get through to you
and sometimes I cry, it’s a fool’s lullaby
sometimes I cry, it’s a fools lullaby.



Kagome backed slowly out of Inuyasha’s hold. He understood but continued to clutch her hand. Kagome raised her head to his face and Inuyasha met her half way. Barely a slither of light could find it’s way between their lips. Hesitantly Kagome moved her lips to his cheek. She swallowed hard as she softly kissed his cheek. She tried and failed to hold in her heavy rain of tears. Inuyasha closed his eyes and took in every moment her lips touched his skin. Kagome pulled away and turned, Inuyasha didn’t want to let her soft hand go. But knew he had to.



I’m crying inside.



Kagome held on to Inuyasha’s hand until the last moment and decided it was best not to look back. Just before she reached the edge of the forest a powerful gust blew some of her flowers out of her hands. Kagome turned quickly as she saw the flowers surround Inuyasha and the soft light of the setting sun give him a beautiful glow. He was about enter another part of the forest when he turned with the wind that seemed to follow Kagome. He watched as she swept a few rouge strands of hair from he face. She looked like an angel. Slowly Kagome smiled and Inuyasha sadly smiled back. They both disappeared in different directions of the forest.

Well I hope you liked the story. Don’t worry I didn’t forget my other stories they will come to an end soon. I was just really feeling this story. I heard the song on Cardcapter Sakura but I don’t know who sings it all I know is that it's called Beautiful Goodbye, anyway. Tell me what you guys think of it!
