Kagome walked slowly toward the village with her helmet under her arm. Suddenly there was a small crack from behind her and she turned around quickly to see a large cat demon behind her. It looked kind of like Kirara but it was slightly smaller and had a large black line of fur going from her left ear to her nose and one of her ears was completly white. The large two tailed cat walked over to her and began to sniff her. Kagome giggled and petted the cat's fur, scraching under it's chin. The large kitten purred and transformed into a smaller version of itself before jumping onto Kagome's shoulder and sitting down. "Hey, kitty. How're you doing?" The kitten let out a small mew as a response and Kagome giggled again.

"Whiskers?!" (A/N:I'm naming it after my pet cat...) The kitten mewed as a young woman walked out of the bushes followed by a small demon cat.

"Sango?" Kagome looked at the woman, surprised.

"Hey Kagome. I guess you found Whiskers," the demon slayer said, wiping some sweat off of her forehead with her arm.

"Whiskers?" Kagome looked up at the kitten on her shouder. "She's yours?" Her friend nodded.

"When Miroku and I got married, Kirara found a mate and had a liter of kittens. Whiskers is one of them." The kitten mewed again at the mention of her name and jumped from Kagome's shoulder and into her arms.

"Hm..." Kagome looked down at the kitten and started to pet her.

"She's only a few weeks old, but most of the kittens have left by now. She's the only one left."

"Really?"

"It's normal for a demon cat to leave and find a new home after only a few weeks. They learn fast so it only takes that long to learn how to take care of themselves."

Kagome looked down at the kitten lovingly. "So, your a smart little kitty." The kitten meowed happily and yawned.

"She seems to really like you."

"Yeah."

"Kagome would you like to keep her?"

"Sure. What should I know?"

"Well, all you really need to know is that they're like regular cats when it comes to what they eat, but they eat a little more." Kagome nodded. "The major difference is that they understand english, but can't speak it because they weren't built to be able to. They learn quickly so watch out. Eventually she'll become smarter than you. Kirara already has." Kirara mewed happily from her place on Sango's shoulder.

Kagome looked around. "So, where's Ben?"

"Who?" Sango looked at Kagome, confused.

"The wolf cub."

"Oh, right. He's with Miroku. It started raining earlier so we had to get him inside. After a few hours of playing with Kirara, he dosed off."

"Hm..." Kagome and Sango talked about what she had missed over the past years as both woman walked back to the village. After reaching it, Kagome picked up her pup and said her goodbyes as she dropped through the well and back to her time where she pulled out her cell phone and dialed Inuyasha's number.

"Hello?" Inuyasha paused. "Kagome?! What's wrong?"

"Hey," Kagome said softly as she wiped her eyes. "How do you feel about cats?"
