InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Inuyasha Forgets ❯ Miroku's Trip ( Chapter 12 )
Hello!
This chapter is going to be Miroku's trip to get to Inuyasha, ok! I hope its ok! Plz review!
<><><><><><><><>
Sunlight poured in the window of Keade's hut. Clouds sat lazily in the sky and the warm wind forced the grass to move around under the sweltering sun. Birds sat in the trees and chirped songs to one another. Cats sat on windowsills sleeping the day away, as dogs played with the children of the village. Miroku lay in Keade's hut dreaming.
"Oh Sango…"
Sango turned around hearing her name. She saw Miroku on the floor asleep whispering her name. "He's a pervert in his sleep too!" Sango kicked Miroku slightly in the side and he sat up.
"What's the matter Sango? Where's the problem?" Miroku looked around the room and then calmed down.
"Miroku! It's bad enough you grab me when you're awake, but do you have to do it in your sleep to?"
Miroku smiled up at her shyly. "What's that paper you have in your hand?"
Sango looked at the paper in her hand. She handed it to Miroku slowly. "It came by a carrier pigeon. It's from Inuyasha."
Miroku took the paper wondering what Inuyasha could want. Inuyasha usually acts as if he hates me. Miroku unrolled the scroll and began to read it aloud to Sango.
Miroku
I need you to come to the cat tribe on Moon Mountain.
Inuyasha
"Moon Mountain?!" Miroku lowered the parchment from his eyes and stared at Sango quizzically. Shippou, who had been sitting in the window, turned to look at Miroku.
"Does anyone have any idea where that is?" Shippou and Sango shook their heads slowly.
"I wonder why Inuyasha's at a cat tribe. I mean, he is a dog demon." Sango said turning her head towards the door, "Kirara!" Kirara bounded in from outside. She had made friends with a little girl next door.
"So, does this mean Kagome's still gone?" Shippou asked thinking of her.
"I guess."
The three sat around thinking quietly. The sunshine lit and heated the room. Summer winds blew in through the window in the hut.
Keade walked in from the outside wiping sweat from her forehead. "The whole Takeda family is down with a case of the flu."
Shippou smiled as she came in, "Will they be okay?"
"Oh, they'll all be quite well by tomorrow morning if the herbs do their job."
"Lady Keade, do you know anything about Moon Mountain?"
Keade sat down on a mat and began to think to herself. "Ah, yes. I had to visit Moon Mountain to heal a cat demon once. Why do you ask?"
"Miroku got a letter from Inuyasha wanting him to go to Moon Mountain. He said to come to a cat tribe there. Miroku doesn't know where it is though."
"A letter from Inuyasha? I didn't know he could write… You walk through the forest north of here and then walk directly west until you reach a tree that looks like a man, then turn North and walk until the grass is all gone. A forest should be in view. Walk through the forest, and keep walking strait after you leave it. You should come to a lake. Walk around it and you will come to Moon Mountain. The cat tribe lives on top of it."
Miroku listened carefully and then repeated it to himself," tree that looks like a man, no grass, go through forest, walk around lake, climb mountain."
<><><><>Later That Day<><><><>
Sango made a big dinner for Miroku before he set out on his trip. She cooked three large fish and made sushi. She mixed up various fruits and veggies for a sort of salad.
Miroku ate to or three helpings and then began to ready himself to go. He took a small pouch of water and another pouch of berries and dried fish. Miroku bought a straw hat to shade himself from the sun from a neighbor.
He sat out on his trip prepared for a long journey.
<><><><>On the Journey<><><><>
I think this is the woods Keade was talking about, Miroku thought to himself. He began walking west towards the sun.
The sun was setting and the heat of day began to wear off. The grass was thinning out and the trees had died away long ago. Miroku took off his hat and carried it at his side. He glanced in the distance and saw the tree. He ran up to it and examined it. Deciding it was the tree; he turned north and began to jog.
The sun disappeared behind the horizon. Birds began settling down in their nests for a quiet sleep. Clouds loomed in the sky and it began to sprinkle as Miroku walked on.
The grass was gone now and Miroku looked ahead. He could make out the dark figure of a forest far off in the distance. He walked towards it, the rain dripping off him.
He came to the forest and stood before it. He dug a hand into his food pouch and ate a few berries and sipped some water. He began trudging through the forest.
Stumbling over branches and squinting to see in front of him he went. Creatures scurried beside him up trees and into holes in the ground. Unaware of the Shikans staring at him he walked on through the forest. They dared not attack after the encounter with Inuyasha.
(A/N I'm trying to speed the journey up. Lol)
He came out of the forest and stopped for the night. He laid his head down on the grass and began snoring.
<><><><>His dream<><><><>
"Sango! I'm home!"
Three kids, all looking like miniature Mirokus ran up and greeted him. Sango walked up to Miroku and threw her arms around him.
"I'm glad your home."
The dream continued in this way.

Miroku opened his eyes as the sun peeped over the trees. He drank some water and ate some berries then continued on his journey.
He walked mile after mile after mile. The heat was intense and he fell faint a few times before coming to the lake. He saw the mountain in view. He began to climb it, step by step.
He came upon the top of it. The village sat there warm and welcoming. Inuyasha and Shippau stood there looking at him.
Miroku eyed Inuyasha and then stared at Shippau. "Shippou grew up!?"
