"We need to retrieve Miroku's body. Hopefully the animals haven't had their share of him."

Inuyasha nodded guiltily. He could feel a small lump in his throat when he thought of Miroku. What will everyone say? What about poor Sango…wait maybe he's still…no.

Shippau pointed to a lump on the ground. Inuyasha stepped towards it. He laid Kagome down and lifted his friend's head. Miroku's body was cold with death and chilled Inuyasha to hold him.

Shippau bent down and heaved Miroku's body over his back. He knew they must hurry before his friend exploded from the gases being built up in him. Inuyasha picked kagome back up and held his hand over her heart. It was beating less faintly now.

"Inuyasha."

"Ka…Kagome?"

"Yes Inuyasha. Set me down next to Miroku."

Inuyasha waited while Shippau laid Miroku down before gently setting his frail love beside him.

Kagome lifted her arm and touched Miroku's heart. Then she gasped and fell over unconscious.

"Kagome!"

"Wait Inuyasha."

Miroku's eyes fluttered open and he stared at the sky. "I was with my ancesters."

"Miroku," Shippau said, "welcome back."

Inuyasha sat down Kagome by a stream of clear water. Shippau did the same with Miroku who he had been carrying.

Inuyasha cupped is hands together and placed them in the water. He brought them back up full of water and poured it on Kagome's limp body. He continued this motion until she stirred.

"Thankyou Inuyasha."

"No Kagome, Thankyou. Shippau told me what happened."

"I don't understand what happened to me."

"We never will."

Inuyasha bent over her and Kagome wrapped her arms around his neck, giving him a short deep kiss.

"I was a bit surprised when I kissed you like that, but it felt good when I did. I was just so happy to see you when you came to save me." Inuyasha nodded and kissed her back.

Shippau got the message and walked with Miroku away from them so they could have more privacy. He gave Miroku a drink and talked to him.

"So how is my brother?"

"Just like he should be."

"That's good to here Miroku. I was so devastated when you died."

Miroku nodded and began telling him of his journey to wherever he went.

So its short whatever one more to go and it will be long.
