Inuyasha Marching Band Chapter 10: A Pissed Off Tom

Kell eventually calmed down, and Miroku still didn't get better from his concussion. The next day came another game, and as usual, the members are already in the band room way before report time. They fooled around until the equipment truck came, and when it did, they immediately loaded it then put their uniforms on.

"Where the heck are they?" thought Kelli furiously.

Then she discovered that all of them are clustered in the hallway.

"I finally found you: Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Dan, Rich, Muller, Heather, Kagome, Jessica, Sango, and Jenny. Want to play tackle football?"

The group stared at her as if she had aids with the soul exception of Sesshoumaru.

"Kell, if I wanted to die I'd tell you," answered Jenny.

"She took the words right out of my mouth," added Kagome.

"Okay, well, what about the rest of you?" continued Kell.

"Sure, why not?" said the rest casually.

"Just one problem, we are all in our uniforms are we not? If we play in them then it will get filthy causing us trouble from Mr. Kinsey," pointed Sesshoumaru.

"Well, that's an easy problem. Kagome and Jenny could put an anti dirty spell on the uniforms, and it won't get dirty. So Jenny and Kagome, would you?" stated Kell.

"Sure," exclaimed the both of them in unison.

With the problem solved, the two mikos went to each football/band members/players, and cast an anti dirty spell. After that, the eight people went out the double doors, and on the grass patched ground to play.

"Remember, you guys only have a half an hour before we leave," reminded Kagome.

Nobody answered so she sat down on a bench next to Miroku and Jenny to watch.

Moments later Tom came out the double doors, and got slightly pissed. He stomped up to where the group played and started to yell, trying hard not to.

"Why the heck are all of you playing football in you NEW uniforms? You will be in deep trouble soon!" lectured Tom.

"But Tom," mustered Sango.

"But what?" barked the drum instructor?

"Kagome and Jenny put an anti dirty spell on all of our uniforms so it won't get dirty," explained Sango.

After haring the explanation, Tom felt ashamed and a little angry with himself. "Then go on the bus, we are leaving soon," commanded Tom in a lighter tone.

The group of young people abandoned their game, gathered their things, and made way to the bus. Once on, the bus quickly left for Pitman. When there, the band began their usual routine, get dress, warm up, and go over show, ect. Soon it was time to perform. The football players filed off the field, and the marching Lions came on. The minute the champion band went on; they became lazy, and started to drag the show and music.

"What the fuck are they doing!" screamed Tom running up to the fence, smoke coming from his head. "All the drill, all the technique, all the articulations are gone. All the hard work we put in them are gone."

(AN [both authoresses]: -sirens are on and flashing- alert, alert, Tom Case is supremely pissed off. Please locate your nearest bomb shelter.)

Tom became even more pissed as the Gloucester Band continued to perform the show, as well as the other instructors, and drum major. Finally, the dreaded show ended and all the band members marched off the field with long faces, knowing they did a poor job. They then marched to the visitor's stand and settled down, taking off their tops.

Suddenly, the instructors appeared in front of the fence out of thin air. Tom took one-step forward, and hollered, "What in the fucking seven hells was that shit? What you just did was crap, poop, not even, it was worse. What happen to all the stuff we taught you? You know what, I'm not even going to say anymore!" He threw the pair of drumsticks that he had in his pocket on the ground with all the force he had, and stomped away angrily.

Then the band heard an "Erhem" and turned around to see two angry faces.

"Tom had said all I wanted to say. I'm very disappointed in all of you. You guys were doing so well before this last game. Now I'm sure you all remember next week is championships so just do me a favor and do your best," said a disappointed Mr. Kinsey and walked away too. Amanda said nothing and left with Mr. Kinsey, dark faced. The other instructors were too angry to come over so they stayed hidden.

"Wow, I have never seen him so pissed before," Inuyasha said in awe.

"Yeah," Kelli said with a long face, "but he's right." She bent down and picked up the broken sticks Tom threw. She held them in her hand and stared at them in deep thought.

"Kelli, are you okay?" Jenny asked trying to break her from her trance. Suddenly, she snapped out of it.

"You guys, we can't do this again. Next week is championships," she said calmly, repeating what Mr. Kinsey said. No one said anything, but just looked at her.

"We have to do really well next Saturday," she added growing more and more excited. "We have to win. For us, for Mr. Kinsey, for Tom!" she yelled.

"Yeah!" everyone agreed.

With that, the fans on the visitors' side stood up and started to cheer. Gloucester had scored and was ahead 7-0. Tom slowly walked back over with the sight of the roaring crowd.

"Everyone, Big Blue," he said unhappily. Everyone could tell he was still upset.

The rest of the first two quarters went slowly as Tom continually stayed upset, instead of his cheery, humorous self. Half time finally came and the Gloucester Band went over to the home stands to watch Pitman perform.

As Pitman marched on everyone in the band yelled, "Ra, Ra, Ra, Pitman!" and awaited their performance.

"Hey, check out that cooger!" Muller said aid excitedly laughing. "Hey, what's up pussy cat?" he asked walking over to the fence to mess with the mascot. It put its paws up like it was going to fight him. Muller went to jump the mascot, but Dan caught him.

"Just leave it alone Jim," he said, and they climbed back up the bleachers. When Pitman's show was finished, everyone went back to the stands before they were dismissed to go eat.

"Be back here before the fourth quarter," Mr. Kinsey told everyone and they went to eat. After being dismissed Kell, Jenny, and Heather walked over to the food stands and waited in the long line for food. When they finally got the food after a decade, they found a spot to sit and eat.

"You know I really do think we should apologize," Kelli said pausing from her pizza. The other two stopped eating for a second too and agreed, so they got up to go apologize to all the instructors. Heather went to talk to Mr. Kinsey and Amanda, Jenny to Christa and Nikki, and Kelli to Tom and Ed. They all split up and decided to meet back at the visitors' stands.

A little later, with only one minute and thirty seconds left in the third quarter, Jenny and Heather met back at the stands. Heather said that Mr. Kinsey and Amanda were cool with it and so did Jenny.

"You guys," Kelli, said panting from running back to the stands, "I can't find Tom."

"Well, let's go find him," Heather suggested jumping up.

"We don't have enough time," Jenny replied pointing to the scoreboard. "It's almost fourth quarter."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," the two of them agreed. Tom eventually came back to the stands, but every time Kell try to talk to him, he was busy. Finally, the game ended with a final score of 28-14 Gloucester and the band members got ready to go home.

As everyone got comfortable on the bus, Tom came on and sat in the front.

"Now's our chance," Jenny announced and the three of them went over to him.

"Hey Tom, can we talk to you?" Kell asked standing next to him. He nodded his head and moved over. Kell sat next to him, Jenny across from him, and Heather looked down at him from the next seat behind.

"Sure," said Tom lazily obviously still a little upset.

"We're sorry," cried the three girls softly.

Tom smiled and lightened up a bit. "It's ok I was over reacting a bit. Just don't screw up next week and I'll be fine."

"Yes," and they went back to their spots on the bus sleepily.
