~~~Everyone in Kaede's small hut wore huge smiles and laughed as they oohed and awwed at thier presents. Kagome had explained Christmas to them and they had readily agreed to celebrate it with her Christmas Eve Moring since she told them that she would be spending Christmas day with her family. Kagome had gotten them all gifts, for Sango she had gotten her a really beautifull set of silver hand brush, comb and a hand held mirror that Sango practically cried over. To her it was such a wonderfull gift, things that only the finest ladies in her time could afford, and it touched her even more that Kagome had gotten her something that made her feel like a woman, and not just the warrior exterminator that eveyone else saw. For Miroku Kagome had gotten him a new set of golden earings to replace the ones he wore now, which Miroku absolutly adored since they were actual gold and not just coated in gold as his old ones were. For Shippo she got him various toys and treats, like some art supplies so that he could draw to his hearts content, as well as a box of assorted chocolates which he almost fainted at seeing. For Kaede she had gotten her a jade herbal mixing bowl with matching jade grinder, something she had found in an antique store, as well as a nice silver hair comb to put her hair up in. Kaede loved it emensly. Especially the jade bowl and grinder, it was only the richer and more prominant healers that could afford to own such a beautifull set. As for Inuyasha? Well Kagome had looked long and hard for something to get him, it was not easy, since he hadnt wanted to celebrate Christmas at all. She had tried and tried to think of something for him but in the end she had gotten him old faithfull..something she knew he would like, a case of ramen. It had turned out to be a good choice, since he practically drooled at the whole case of Ramen with diffrent flavors that were all his own.

~~~After the present were exchanged, and yes the others had gotten Kagome some gifts and each other as well. Kagome explained more of the Christmas customs to them. She giggled as she told them about the mistletoe custom and pulled one out of her pocket. Miroku blushed when Kagome kissed his check as she held the mistle toe over his head, then Shippo chuckled when he got a kiss from Kagome then Sango then Kaede. Kaede got one from Shippo and Miroku as did Sango from both as did Kagome. As for Inuyasha he refused to participate as they all knew he would as he sat in his corner with a Feh and looked at everyone else. After all was said and done Kagome bid them all good bye and a Merry Christmas as she got her things and went back home threw the well. As she entered the well house she stopped by the door and took a note out of her pocket and tacked it to the door. It was in preperation for the actuall gift she had in mind for Inuyasha. She had given Kaede a sealed note with instructions to wait till sundown to give the hanyou the letter. That would give her plenty of time to prepare and await Inuyasha's visit. She was nervous excited and a bit scared, but she had been thinking of this for soo long and tonight she decided was the night she would give him a very very special gift that she could only give him.

~~~It had just gotten dark and Inuyash was about to leave to go brood in the Gods Tree as he always did when Kagome was gone when Kaede stopped him.

"What is it old woman?" he growled. He was not in a good mood, he never was when Kagome left. Although he would never admit it, he felt lost when ever she was gone, he felt alone and empty without her. He hated when she left and when she came back he always yelled at her, but had actually really just wanted to pull her into his arms and never let her go.

"Here..Kagome gave this to me to give ye when the sun went down." Kaede replied, not even flinching at Inuyasha's foul mood, since she was used to it. Curious Inuyasha snatched it from her hand and tore the letter open and read it. All it said was 'Inuyasha please come to my time, I have a very special christmas present for you, Kagome' After reading it Inuyasha stuffed it into his haori and glared at everyones curious expressions. Without a word he left the hut and sped through the forest and to the well.

~~~When Inuyasha came out of the well he was about to open the door the the well house when he noticed another note tacked to the door. It read 'Inuyasha come through the front door of the house, the door is unlocked, dont worry no one is home, go to the christmas tree and look underneath it. There you will find a gold wrapped box with your name on it, open it, Kagome' Inuyasha was puzzled. Had he come all this way to find no Kagome home but just his present? He opened the well house door and took a whiff of the air. As usual the smells of her time offended his nose and he scrunched it up, but he got the smell he was looking for. Nope Kagome was right no one was home EXCEPT her. He could smell the lingering smells of her family but they were old and that meant they were not there, but Kagome was and thats all that mattered. To him spending some time alone with just him and Kagome was all he really wanted, although he would never admit to it. With a snort he sped from the well house and was at her front door in seconds.

~~~He quietly and cautiously opened the front door and walked into the house. The living room was dim but lit up enough to see around. The source of the light came from a large pine tree in the corner with an assortment of dangling decorations and flashing colored lights. Inuyasha was puzzled by this, who would decorate a tree like that?? He thought and for what purpose, then he remembered Kagome explaining Christmas to him and just kehed as he walked over to the tree and crouched down on his hunches looking for a gold wrapped gift. It wasnt hard since it was the only gold one there among what seemed like hundreds of gifts. The little card attached to it read 'To Inuyasha Love Kagome' Love?? Did she write Love Kagome? This had him breathing hard and his stomache feeling all wierd as his heart sped up. Did she mean it? Did she really love him? Gods it was his one and only true desire now, to have Kagome love him, really love him. He knew she cared for him deeply, but he had never really dared to hope that she could actually LOVE him, like a woman loved a man, or in his case a hanyou.

~~~With shaky hands he opened the brightly wrapped box and opened it up. There among thin tissue wrapping was something small and green. Inuyasha frowned. Was this a joke? He was soo confussed. It didnt make sense and this sure in the hell didnt seem like something special to him. He pulled it out and looked at it with a frown. What the hell did the wentch want him to do with it? It was another one of those stupid green sprigs she called Mistletoe. Something else inside the box caught his attention and he set the sprig of green down as he lifted the small decorated card. 'This gift entitles the posessor to use the mistle toe to kiss the giver in anyway he wants with out protest or fear of the S word...anywhere and everywhere he might like to kiss' Said the note and it took like a second for what it meant to sink in. Is she serious? This cant be real? Its a joke right? Is Kagome giving me permission to kiss her anyway I want?? Anywhere I want? This was too good to be true he thought. Just then he heard a noise and looked up toward the top of the stairs. There lit by the upstairs light was Kagome and his heart nearly jumped out of his throat. His eyes bugged out and he was struck speechless.

~~~Kagome watched all the emotions cross Inuyasha face as she stood there shaking slightly still excited and nervous but soo scared. What if he rejected her gift and her second one was well? She would die of embarrassment and shame for sure, but it would totally humiliate her if he rejected her while she was wearing her special gift to him. It had taken her a lot of guts to purchase this outfit for him, she had blushed beet read when she had put the contents of it on the counter at the little boutique she had went to to get it. She prayed with all her might that it was not waisted on a rejection, she would never live it down and she would never be able to face Inuyasha again.
