“Fine by me. I think this whole test is moronic. After this we are leaving to hunt shards.”

 

“Yeah, yeah. Ok. I just have to know about this and know especially how it works so stick with me on this.”

 

She flips to a different part of the stack of papers. “ I have to show you a picture next and you tell me what is missing.”

 

Inuyasha grunts his agreement.

 

She puts out a picture of water being poured into a glass - the stream of water is missing. Inuyasha jabs a finger at the part missing. Since he's annoyed at the whole process in general, he jabs too hard and his claw goes through the paper. “Oops.”

 

“I'll tape it. It'll be fine,” Kagome says quickly and with a slightly red face. “Next part; put these blocks into the arrangement I'll show you. For these you have 30 seconds.” Kagome pulls out a paper with an arrangement of blocks shown on it.

 

Inuyasha completes it quickly, well within the time restraints. She reaches for another pattern. He finishes it just as fast. Kagome finds a harder one. Inuyasha takes a few seconds longer, but gets it correct within the 30 seconds. Kagome gets out another difficult one. Inuyasha can't seem to get the colors on the blocks to match up correctly and in the right configuration. When the timer beeps and he's still working, he shoves the materials to the side in a huff.

 

“It's all right. That was one of the real hard ones,” Kagome tries to get him to chill about it.

 

“Feh,” Inuyasha sits with his arms crossed, acting like a petulant child.

 

“Well, I think I get how this goes now. Thanks for helping me, Inuyasha.” Inuyasha snarls, still being huffy.

 

Kagome puts away the test - she'll review the other parts of the test later, when there's no risk of an encounter with an angry hanyo. While digging in her bag for a textbook, she finds a forgotten stash of ramen.

 

“Inuyasha.”

 

Inuyasha turns to look at her, still being grumpy. He quickly changes his mood when confronted with the ramen noodles.

 

While Inuyasha happily munches on the food, Kagome decides that involving Inuyasha in any more tests is a decidedly bad idea. He's mistrustful of most things from her world anyways - springing a test on him was a bit dangerous. Inuyasha can sometimes be a bit unstable when angry. She smiles - it sure is fun to see him out of his element once in awhile.
