A.N. Hello everyone! Let me just verify one thing before you read this next chapter. I am nothing like the evil Riomi………or am I? So far a lot of you think this is a self-insertion fic, you're wrong. Besides I would `do' Sesshoumaru not Inuyasha, Muhahahahaha! I know you all love my evilness. Enjoy!

Chapter 9: Hot Springs Part 1

It was Kagome's third day of tending to the sick Rin. She sat next to her bed and read her a bedtime story until she fell asleep.

Kagome left the room quietly to get ready for bed herself but was warmly greeted by Sayaiko who was standing by the door. Sayaiko was assigned as her private servant, but she looked at her more as a friend.

"Kohnichiwa Kagome-san, is Milord's ward healing progressing?" asked a rejuvenated Sayaiko to Kagome.

"Hai, demo she still needs more time to before she can be out and about." Kagome answered, untying the small white cloth that protected her nose and mouth from germs.

"Is she sleeping now?" Sayaiko asked curiously.

"She is but I wanna go to the hot springs to was, wanna join me?"

"Sure, I'll show to the nearest hot springs."

Kagome followed Sayaiko down the hallway to a large curtained archway.

Sayaiko lifted the thick curtain and revealed an enormous room with three immense hot springs they each had a miniature waterfall and rocks that outlined each spring.

They both entered the steamy room and Kagome looked around cautiously making sure no one else was in there with them.

"I didn't know there was a hot spring so close. I've been going to one on the other end of the castle." Kagome said unknowingly.

"Oh, this bathing room is specifically for Rin-chan, Sesshoumaru-sama and other guests in his main quarters such as yourself. I apologize for me not telling you sooner." Sayaiko responded while gathering small soaps and drying cloths.

She laid them on the floor in front of the second spring and while pointing across the spring she said, "Those four rocks are heated so it might be better to lean on them, they're calming."

Kagome nodded, untied her kimono and let it fall to the floor. She grabbed some soap, stepped into the hot water and swam to the rocks suggested by Sayaiko.

Sayaiko did the same and found spot next to the miko.

"You never really explained what happened that day you passed out." Kagome mentioned wanting to start conversation.

"Oh, well once again I'm deeply sorry for that, but what happened was that I let my curiosity get the best of me." Sayaiko said still embarrassed by the incident.

"You had some kind of protective barrier around you," she continued, "and I was fascinated by it so much that I touched it and was flung into the desk."

"Barrier? Around me, really?" Kagome exclaimed unable to understand how she could do that in her sleep.

"Yeah, you didn't know you were capable of conducting such things?" she asked confusedly.

"Well I know I'm able to do it while I'm awake not while asleep, wow!" she said impressed with herself.

"The level of power it produced felt like it was practiced over a long length of time." Sayaiko explained remembering its force.

"Demo, I have never done anything like that before……… knowingly." Kagome said convincingly.

"Amazing………" Sayaiko said shaking her head timidly.

"What I find amazing is how you put that desk back together!" she said lathering her hair.

Sayaiko let out an uncomfortable giggle and explained, "There's nothing amazing about that. It was just an effect of my foolishness. I can become very overprotective of my kind."

Kagome gave her a confused look.

"That desk is my great great grandfather." Sayaiko said feebly.

"Your great great grandfather is that desk………in my room?" she clarified flabbergasted.

"Yes, that vanity is my great great grandmother as well." Sayaiko answered.

Kagome's mouth fell open; the only thing she could get was, "How?"

"My kind are helpers of nature. My natural form is a tree. When I get too old to maneuver this human form I will transform to my natural state………permanently. I will continue to live but I just won't need the essentials this body requires." Sayaiko explicated while gesturing to her own body.

"My ancestors and immediate family chose to be made into furniture. They were very loyal to Sesshoumaru-sama's family and their ancestors.

"Most of the wooden furniture located around the castle are my ancestors. I have a choice of becoming a piece of furniture or remaining a tree placed in the garden, when it is my time to transform. I have plenty of time til then though." she concluded with a giggle.

"That's incredible!" Kagome said in astonishment.

Sayaiko gave a polite grin and dunked her head underwater. Kagome did the same to rinse out her hair.

Kagome was first to resurface and she nearly jumped out of her skin when she spotted the Western Lord staring at her, free of his armor.

She sank lower in the water trying to hide her body from his glare.

Sayaiko finally came up from the water, her back to Sesshoumaru; she was unaware of his presence.

"Sayaiko," Sesshoumaru said smoothly causing the servant spin around unexpectedly, "you are excused. Miko stay."

Kagome's eye's widened and Sayaiko nodded her head wordlessly.

She swam to the edge of the hot spring and climbed out unphased by her exposure in front of Sesshoumaru. She wrapped herself in a cloth and scurried out quietly dropping the curtain behind her.

Kagome was very uncomfortable with being left alone with Sesshoumaru……… naked. She felt even queasier when he began to undress.

She turned her back to him and asked, "What are you doing?" with fear residing in her voice.

The only answer she received was the water rippling around her meaning he just entered the spring."

"You should no longer fear me after being in my home this long." he said sensing her panic.

She looked back at him over her shoulder and slanted her chestnut eyes.

"How do you expect me to react when a naked demon Lord get into the hot spring with me uninvited, while I'm naked as well." she spat out.

Once again she obtained no response but his eyes remained on her.

She flung her head away and stared meaninglessly at the heated stones.

`There's no way of getting out of this one. If I try to get of the water he will see me naked. Urgh! I'm stuck!' she told herself.

She tensed up when she felt a soft wave in the water. Still bare from the shoulders up she turned around again to where Sesshoumaru was but found him nowhere in sight.

She exhaled gratefully closed her eyes and slowly backed up to retreat back to the heated rocks.

To her surprise she backed into none other than Sesshoumaru. Her eyes shot open, her body stiffened and she let out a short gasp.

Sesshoumaru leaned down close to her ear and whispered, "If I wished to claim your virginity then I would have done it already, do you understand miko?"

She couldn't believe her ears. Almost instantaneously she whirled around and brought her hand up to smack him, but with his demon speed he caught it and a small-unexpected smirk crept upon his pale lips.

"You hentai pig! How dare you say something like that!" she shrilled trying to break out of his grasp splashing furiously.

Sesshoumaru reluctantly let go of her arm and watched her dip backward into the water causing a short-lived splash and her head to submerge.

`Foolish miko.' Sesshoumaru thought to himself as Kagome's head slowly emerged, her face showing slight embarrassment and much malice.

`If only I had the sit charm over him, he would have so drowned by now!' she reckoned obtaining a nervous twitch in her left eye; something only Inuyasha was capable of causing.

"Relax miko, if you wish to leave, then go." Sesshoumaru teased knowing she wouldn't reveal herself.

"Urrgh! Ok you win! What do you want?" she gave in regaining her normal facial features.
