That evening, Miroku began casting different spells on Isha hoping to break her curse. Kagome had already gone inside the hut. “Why should I watch Miroku casting spells that the knows aren't going to work? There's only one solution and we all know it.” Suddenly, Kagome heard footsteps behind her. She turned to see Inuyasha standing in the doorway. “Inuyasha, what are you doing here?” “I…I need to talk to you. In private.” Inuyasha closed the door and sat down on the floor by Kagome. “It's about Isha's curse.” “I figured that. What about?” “Well, I, uh, wanted to ask, your permission. Kagome's face was flushed once again. “Why do you need my permission? It's not like I'm your,” Kagome was cut off as Inuyasha took her hands in his own, as he had done earlier that day. “Isha interrupted me before, Kagome. I wanted to tell you that I love you, just as you love me. In my eyes, you are my mate. I don't want to do this with Isha, but if it will help her, then I must. I knew I had to consult you first.” “Inuyasha… I, if you feel that strongly, then you can help Isha. But, could you do something else first?” “Anything, Kagome.” “Let me be your first.”
