It's easier to go

Chapter 16A promise

Guys, I really, really, really, love you.My last two chapters had more reviews than I actually expected.

This however does not mean I don't want more.

By the way I always wanted to ask you for a synonim

of `amber`, the word gets me completely frustrated.

Anyway thanks again. And sadly I can do nothing about

the `emotional stuff ` because believe me Kag's past is screwed.

Now on with our story.

When Kagome opened her eyes she found herself facing her pillow.Kagome sighed sadly but really didn't know why.

Then it hit her.Father. His anger, his hate.Pain.Grief.Terror. Panic.Emotions washed through her, not caring what they tore

apart in the process.

She felt sick, naucious, dirty.Not her body, but her soul had just been denied it's last escape.

She ran to the bathroom threw the door open and shut behind her.

Kagome yanked her dress off her body, but before she could even think about washing, she threw up so violently she thought her stomack would rip apart.

After that she hurried into the cold shower water and scrubbed her skin until it was almost blood red.

She wanted to run, to replace all this pain with something numb.

But, wherever she would run, he would be.

Where, where would he never find her.

Suddenly it struck her.

Throwing her bath-robe on she ran into the kitchen.

She knew, she knew, where she could hide, hide from all.

But as she stepped into the room, she never expected to see the two persons who would never let her go.

Sesshoumaru clearly heard when Kagome woke and he clearly heard, her throw up, just like he heard her silent tears.

She probably didn't realise she became used to crying silently.When he held her last night, she first seemed to be at peace, but then lonely tears streamed down her face.

She didn't have another nightmare, she had an empty dream,

she was to tired of her fever to dream anything,but still somewhere deep down, there was something which kept wanting to get out.

He had heard her whisper, which again said it wasn't her.

What had she done?What had happened?And why was she so scared?

He had thought about that as he woke two hours earlier until

Shippou got up.

The kid was after all innocent in this so he decided to go make him breakfast, and ask about his and Kagome's father.

When he did Shippou got nervous, and soon spilled that Kagome had saved him from his abusive mother.

Abusive ... the word echoed in his mind for at least one thousand times. Her father had...that would at least explain her reaction, but no, even like this there had to be more, there had to be more than just that ...but what?

As he thought about that Kagome came out running like the hounds of hell were chasing her, and stopped dead in her tracks as she saw him and Shippou at the table .

"Morning Kag", Shippou chirped happily.

Kagome looked at him startled for a minute before nodding and running off again.

Shippou looked a little surprised but Sesshoumaru instantly ran after her.

He found her in her room on the bed crying into the sheets.

He slowly walked up to her and wanted to comfort her but she only pushed him away and sat straight up.

God was this his Kagome, the woman which had tickled him on the floor, the one who had chased him out, the one

he danced with?Tears were clouding her eyes and running down her redlike skin.Her lips were blood- red and her hair

was all messed up. She looked like a frightened wild child.

"Kagome" he started but she only drew back into the wall.

He walked towards her and she wanted to run to the door

but he cought her and forced her to his body, pinning her to his

chest.At first she struggeld but then she went limp and he

picked her up bridal-style and took her to the bed.

He sat her down in his lap and let her cry until she had no

more tears left.

"I'm sorry..."she whispered.

"Why?" he whispered back.

"You were not supposed to know, he was not supposed to come back..."again some tears escaped her.

"Kagome, I'm not going to pressure you on this, but I really

think you should leave town for a while. Especially, because

Shippou is worried about his mother coming for him."

She looked up at him startled .

"You know?"

"He told me.Kagome I want us to go to my house in the mountains and stay there for a while."

"School?" she asked .

"What grades do you have?"he asked back.

"Straight `A`s mister `I don't get distracted."

Sesshoumaru smiled at her answer, her spirit was getting back and he liked to see her angry,more than he liked to see her sad.

"Well then we can just show up for the exams, I'll talk with

the headmaster, she's a nice lady, so she'll get it.So are you

coming or not?"

She sniffed and then , put her hands, which were on his chest, around his neck.

"OK" she whispered again.

"Kagome" he said in a serious tone, which made her look up to him "I want you to tell somebody about your past when you are ready.I'm not saying , tell me, although I hope you

know I would surely listen if you did tell me.

Promise me you'll do it."

Kagome nodded to him. Somehow she trusted him to know what was right.

"OK, but he won't find us, would he?"her gaze again lowered.Sesshoumaru gently took her chin and forced it up.

"Even if he would find us, I would never let him take you away from me or Shippou, got that?I would never let anybody, or anything separate us.I promise."

Kagome started to cry again, and Sesshoumaru knew these tears were different, they weren't tears of fear, sadness, panic,

they were tears of joy.

Kagome hugged him fierceley, and cried into his shoulder.

Sesshoumaru sighed. She was really just like his sister Rin.

She used him as a towel as well.

"Kagome, as much as I like your hugs, I really, truly, am no towel."

Kagome pulled back and glared at him.

Ha, this was his Kagome, the one who got mad at the strangest comments.His?, where did that come from, oh hell

think about it later and run.

Sesshoumaru threw Kagome off him onto the bed and ran .

Kagome was right at his heels, he thinks I'm blind and cry too much, oh he's definetly getting killed now!

Shippou heard some noise so he turned around.Kagome chased

Sesshoumaru because he had said something stupid again.

Shippou sighed and turned around.Yep, everything is back to normal!
