The next day,wewere still under the same tree.“Bankotsu, wake up.” I shook the assassin lightly. Then his eyelids lifted to show his beautiful deep blue eyes. “Morning!” I said cheerfully. He cuddled up to me and closed his eyes. “Now that Jakotsu's gone,you're the only who cares for me.” I rested my chin on his head. “Thanks. You to.” Well actually, the whole village and my parents care for me. “Hungry?” I asked. “Yes.” Bankotsu answered tiredly.I pulled him up and we walked to my mansion.

“So what do you wanna eat?” I asked, leading him to the kitchen. “Just some fruit.” I looked at him. “We could've stayed outside for that!”

So, back outside we went. We walked to the garden, holding hands, as if we were in love.“Strawberries?” I asked. “Sure.” Bankotsu replied. We picked all the strawberries on the tree then walked down to the ocean and sat on the sand and ate them. “Yummy!” I said as I popped a strawberry into my mouth. “Kurama,” Bankotsu whispered. “Hmm?” He put his arm around me. “Are you itazurana?” I bit my bottom lip. “Yes, and so is my kiss.” Bankotsu pulled me closer and my lips locked with his. “Do you love me, Bankotsu?” I asked, breaking the passionate kiss. “Yes.”

He picked me up bridal-style and ran into the water. The waves were as soft as Bankotsu's words. “Stay with me until time ends.” Tears of joy ran down my face. “Okay.” He caressed my cheek just as the day before. “Till the sun sets forever.” He embraced me and my heart felt warm. I wanted to be with Bankotsu forever.He let me down and put his arms around my waist. I responded to that by wrapping my arms around his neck.

“This is the Ai no Uta.” I said. “Huh?” Bankotsu asked, confused. “My heart is filled with love for you,” I sang. “Close your eyes and breathe.” Before I could finish, he kissed me again.

“THERE THEY ARE!” yelled a distant voice. One of my soldiers facedus with a spear pointed toward Bankotsu's face. “Don't hurt him!” I cried. “What the hell? You're protecting him?” My eyes filled with tears. “Yes! I love him!” choking on sobs, I hugged Bankotsu as tight as I could. “No! Don't leave me!” Just then, a sharp arrow pierced through his back. “Bankotsu!” He shot me a warm smile. “I love you Kurama.” His voice faded as I saw his beautiful eyes for the last time. His eyelids dropped and so did my heart.
