Alrighty I got around to doing this so here it goes...........even though I one got ONE review. Thank you SOOOOOOO Much, angl4u2luv !!!!!!Hehehehehe... Ok now on with it....I ramble at the end of the story.......
Chapter 2: Friends at Sea
The gentle waves slapped against the side of the ship, rocking it gently in the aftermath of the storm. The souls aboard the ship sat in silence as the mourned their loss.
Everyone saw it happen and felt helpless as they watched the princess tossed overboard by the power of a giant wave. A surprisingly calm Souta tried with best efforts to comfort his sobbing mother. He knew he had to be strong for her and would mourn in secret later. For now, he bowed his head and stroked his mother’s heaving shoulders as the men aboard the ship removed their hats to pray for her departed soul.

Swirls of rose and violet erupted in the mind of a floating body at sea. The swirls were replaced by a hazy vision of a man standing with his back turned to her. He turned around with a curious look on his face, then smiled warmly. The mind told the body to run toward this man, and despite the body not responding, the mind felt itself grow closer to the figure. Close enough for the man to pick it up and embrace it in his arms. The mind now realized it was a younger version of itself and heard itself shout out happily to the figure.
“Father!”, the child-like voice shouted, “Father where have you been? We were worried.”
“I was on an adventure.”, the man replied with a twinkle in his eyes, “And, I brought you something back.”
She felt elated as it’s arms flew up to grasp the item in his hand.
“Oh! what is it, Father?”, she said happily as she turned the treasure over in her tiny hands.
“Isn’t it pretty? It’s a mermaid’s comb. I met a mermaid on my way, and I told her I had a pretty little daughter back home that I was to return to.”, He said bringing his daughter closer to him and giving her a warm hug, “She gave me the comb in her hair as a present for you and wishes you well.”
“Thank you, Father!!!”, she squealed in delight as she warped her arms around his neck and tackled her father, “ I will cherish it forever.” She placed a kiss on her father’s cheek as he kissed her forehead.
“Aishiteru.”

“Father.......” Kagome mumbled as she rolled over in bed. As she snuggled deeper into the pillow, the events of the previous day replayed themselves in her head.
She remembered being on the ship with her brother looking for mermaids. she remembered Hibiki and his endless complaining. She remembered the scent of an oncoming storm and the crew’s procrastination at her warning. She remembered running out to help and being tossed over the side of the ship. But something didn’t make sense. If she was tossed overboard then how did she end up in her bed? She suddenly became aware of her surroundings, then realized that she wasn’t in her bed. She wasn’t in her room. Wherever she was didn’t feel familiar at all. She shot up in frightened realization and a piercing pain shot up her spine. She cried out in pain as she slumped back onto the pillow.
“You shouldn’t be moving around much. You could injure yourself further.” A voice seemed to say from nowhere.
“Who are you! And where am I!?!?” as she twisted around trying to find the source of the voice. Each movement causing sparks of pain to shoot up and down her spine. She winced at the pain but didn’t falter in her search.
“Did I not just tell you to stop moving so. You could become paralyzed.” The voice said in a slightly harsh tone.
“Tell me who you are.” she said forcefully. She stopped moving around but continued to scan the room with her eyes.
“Geez. Don’t you ever give it a rest?” The owner of the voice appeared before her.
Kagome’s eyebrows raised as she with held the sight before her. It was a man. about a year or two older than herself. She caught sight of his bright white, almost silver hair. she lower her gaze to meet his eyes. His eyes, she noted, where a beautiful amber-gold so intense that she found herself transfixed in his gaze. He seemed to react the same way as his expression softened and her gazed deeply into her own deep brown eyes. She held his gaze a moment longer, then proceeded to scan downward on his body. He wore no shirt, and his bare chest was exposed. Built, yet lean, She told herself as she observed the muscle underneath flesh. His plush shoulders were to be tanned by the sun as were his chest and arms. His hair seemed to float about him and gave him a sort of unreal look. Swallowing lightly, her eyes continued downward on his body. She noticed the waist of his pants sat low on his hips. She continued downward. She saw red. She assumed pants were red. They had a shiny, sparkly look to them. Her eyes widened as she realized that his legs were joined together and tapered off to a fin. She then blinked and took in his whole figure. He wasn’t human.
He approached her, noticing that her face had lost it’s color, “Are you alright?”, he asked with concern in the back of his voice.
She looked up at him and he saw something click behind her eyes.
Kagome screamed and began to thrash around wildly. In the process of this she managed to kick the man in the face and send him flying to the floor.
Once she had calmed down and the bubbles cleared..........
“Wait...Bubbles!?!?!?!?!?!?!?” Kagome looked around the room and noticed that it was completely submerged in water.
She screamed again, not sure what go it would do. As she unconsciously inhaled a breath in, she immediately scolded herself for the stupid mistake and prepared for her lungs to fill with water. When she exhaled instead she was thoroughly confused. She tested it again by cautiously taking another breath in. When she also exhaled this time, she relaxed a little, but her confusion did not waver. Kagome looked up as she heard voices coming from a hallway.
“InuYasha, what’s going on?” a female’s voice yelled as a group of three appeared in the room .
Kagome noticed that they also had tails, except of different colors. The female had a black tail with a pink fin, the male next to her had a deep purple tail and fin, and the child on his shoulder had a green tail. All of their tales sparkled just like the one with the red tail. she them realized it. She was in the presence of the beings from her father’s stories. She was in the presence of mer-people.
“InuYasha!!! What happened?” the female said, kneeling down to the first one she met.
“The wench kicked me!!!!”, his muffled voice came out from behind his hand. He removed his hand and moved his face to check his nose, “Well it ain’t broken.”
“Huh? She kicked you? What did you try to do?”, the female said, thoroughly confused.
“I didn’t try to do nothin’!”, he said angrily.
“Now now, InuYasha. Maybe she’s just a little frightened.”, the other man said approaching her.
Kagome noticed that he had black hair that was tied in a small pony-tail at the back of his head. He had deep purple eyes that matched his tail and fin. when he spoke to her his voice was calm and soothing.
“Hello there. My name’s Miroku.”, he said giving her a smile, “May I ask of your name?”
Kagome just stared at him for a second before his question registered in her brain.
“Oh! I’m Kagome.......Kagome Higurashi.” , she said extending her hand out of habit.
“Well it’s very nice to meet you”, He replied taking her hand, “Tell me are you of the Ko-raruairanda Higurashis?”
“Yes I am. I’m princess Kagome. But how did you know........”
Miroku cut her off, “You can’t be one who lives in the sea and not know of Captain Higurashi.”
“You mean mer-people know of my father?!?!” Kagome was thoroughly surprised. she knew her father was a famous sea captain, but she didn’t know the full extent of his popularity.
“All sea-dwellers know of him. I’ve never been graced with his presence myself . but my father has met him. I didn’t realize at this moment I was being graced by his daughter’s company.” He smiled.
“Well, thank you very much.” she said cracking a small smile. She was beginning to warm up to them and get more comfortable when a mysterious object found it’s way to her butt. She then realized the offending object was a hand and that the owner happened to be her conversational partner. She screamed bloody-murder as she punched him in the face and threw a wall.
“PERVERT!!!!”, she screamed as she huffed and puffed on the bed.
“Owwww......that’s a mean arm you got on yo.........” his sentence was cut short as the mermaid with the black and pink tail whacked him over the head with a table.
“You’ll have to forgive my friend.”, a small voice said from Kagome’s lap. “Hi! I’m Shippou.”, the child in her lap extended a tiny hand to her in which she excepted.
“And I’m Sango.”, The female said, taking her hand after Shippou released it, “And you’ve already met InuYasha.” Sango pointed to the corner where the red-tailed mer-man was scowling.
“Feh!” He said turning his head away from them.
“Don’t mind him. He’s just being a baby.”, Shippou teased from her lap.
“What did you call me you little brat!?!?!” InuYasha growled at the boy.
“A big baby!” Shippou said putting extra emphasis and the word baby.
“C’mere ya little runt!!!!!!” InuYasha yelled as he began to chase Shippou around the room.
“You can’t catch me. You can’t catch me.” Shippou taunted as InuYasha angrily swan after him.
“Don’t mind them. They do that all the time.” Sango explained as the watched them swim around the room.
Kagome couldn’t help but smile at the scene. “Umm....Sango was it?” Kagome asked shyly.
“Yes?”
“How is it that I can breathe underwater?”
“Oh. Look what’s around your neck.” , Sango pointed to her neck.
Kagome flung her hand to her neck to find something there. She lifted it to her vision to see it. It appeared to be a glass ball about the size of a large marble. It was faintly glowing pink as an aura of violet, blue, silver, and pink floated around it. it was very pretty.
“That’s the Shikon no Tama the Jewel of four Souls. It has some kind of magic powers that allows humans to breathe underwater as long as they wear it.”
“Wow.” , Kagome looked wide-eyed at the jewel around her neck, “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me. Thank InuYasha. He’s the one that gave it to you.”
Kagome looked at InuYasha. He had caught Shippou and was now continuing to pound the heck outta him.
Sango leaned towards Kagome to whisper to her, “It belonged to InuYasha’s mother. InuYasha is only half mer-man. His mother was a human.”
“Really?” Kagome decided not to even try to figure out how that worked.
“Yep. His father was a very noble knight, and fell in love with a human from the island Shimane and........”
“SHIMANE!?!?!?! That’s where my dad was born.”
“Whoa! Now you and InuYasha have something in common.”
Kagome looked over at the man who was having fun making a little kid scream uncle.
“May that be the only thing we have in common.”
Both girls laughed and smiled happily.
“So where exactly are we?”, Kagome asked looking around, careful not to move too much and cause more pain.
“We are in one of the many guest rooms in InuYasha’s family mansion in the city of Kairyuu. About forty miles away from the shores of Shimane.”
Kagome nodded and absorbed this new information.
“How is your back?”, Sango asked a bit of worry in her face, “InuYasha said that you might have hurt it when you hit the water after your fall.”
“It hurts a little when I move, but for the most part it’s fine.” Kagome said smiling.
“That’s why I told you you shouldn’t be moving so much. If you injure it further you could become paralyzed.” InuYasha said swimming toward her with Shippou in one hand, “If you had listened to me instead of kicking me you’d already know that. You need to take it easy for a while.”
Kagome stared at him in awe.
Sango knew what she was thinking, “ InuYasha is remarkably skilled when it comes to medical sciences. when he lived with his mother she taught him since she was a medical scientist herself.”
Geez! Will you stop telling my whole life story!!!!” InuYasha shouted at Sango, “Turn over.”
“What?”, Kagome said as InuYasha looked at her.
“Turn over. I have to check your back. You moving all around might have put your spine under some extra pressure.”
Kagome nodded and turned onto her stomach. Sango moved of the bed as InuYasha took her place beside Kagome. Kagome flinched as InuYasha pulled down the zipper to her dress but managed to clam herself down. Her face flushed with blushing heat as InuYasha’s fingertips made their way down her spine. The pads of his fingers were calloused, she noted, but gentle as he ran his fingers slowly across her back, gently pressing on certain areas. When he reached her lower back and gently pressed on her spine, familiar waves of pain shot up and down her back. she cried out and InuYasha withdrew.
“Nothing serious. Just very tender and sore.”, InuYasha said as he zipped back up her dress.
“Great to hear.” Kagome mumbled as her head fell onto the pillow.
“Well! Who’s hungry.” Miroku said finally waking up.
Everyone shrugged and nodded in agreement.

YATTA!!!!!!!!!!!! 2nd Chappie!!!!!!! Hehehehehehehe.........I was on a roll couldn’t stop until I ran out of ideas (as you can see by this very weak ending). I’m hoping to not take a super longer break before I start the next chapter. I’m also still working on my other story (even though I have NO reviews on that one), and will be updating that one soon as well.
I need to go get some waffles cuz I’m hungry. I’ve slept for two days straight and now I’m hungry. So yeah. Any other notes? *flips through notebook* I am open to suggestions and light criticism. YATTA!!!!!!!!!!!! 2nd Chappie!!!!!!! Hehehehehehehe.........I was on a roll couldn’t stop until I ran out of ideas (as you can see by this very weak ending). I’m hoping to not take a super longer break before I start the next chapter. I’m also still working on my other story (even though I have NO reviews on that one), and will be updating that one soon as well.
