InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Jaken's Hidden Strength ❯ Whatever it Takes ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
I don't own Inuyasha, Rumiko Takahashi does. However I do own a DS and that is enough for me! This is my true first fanfic, but I didn't finish it. So I guess that makes it my first/second fanfic! I'm still not that good at this so bear with me. For once I will try to be serious on this one. By the way Sesshomaru fans please don't get upset with me, I'm sure he likes sweets and he is just getting his “just desserts.” Don't worry, he will be better off in the end.
Sesshomaru was walking through the forest one day along with his faithful vassal Jaken and the human girl Rin, who was riding on Ah-Un because she was sleep.
Who walks while sleeping anyway, that is a tiny bit dangerous.
Anyway Sesshomaru was feeling bored so he decided to play a game.
He jumped into a nearby tree and he waited.
Jaken noticed that he didn't accidentally on purpose bump into Sesshomaru and he looked around.
He quickly started to panic and run around in circles, shouting for his dear Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru saw that this would wake up Rin so he jumped down from his tree and with the grace that only he possesses kicked Jaken over the trees.
“5 points” thought Sesshomaru triumphantly.
He was slightly startled, however, when he heard a vicious roar erupt from where all his years of experienced Jaken Kicking told him he would land.
Before he could turn around he was punched with such force that he crashed through a thick tree.
Dazed from the impact, he staggered slightly before he felt a cold hand wrap around his throat. He struggled was futile as he felt his feet leave the earth. “Who could have this strength to do this to Sesshomaru?” He thought as he felt the strength drain from his body.
He looked at the only one other than his brother who bested him and was shocked. A reptilian body bulged with muscle. The head was shaped like that of a crane, long and elegant with delicate spikes crowning the head. The jaws were lined with hundreds of thin, needle sharp teeth that were shaped in a very, very unnerving grin. But most frightening of all were the eyes, yellow orbs that were the embodiment of anger. Those eyes that seemed so familiar…
“Jaken?”
“Not quite!” The beast said in Sesshomaru's own voice as he slammed him onto the ground. “But you are so close Sesshomaru, so very, very close” it said in a tone so cold that it made Sesshomaru shiver slightly. “I am not Jaken, but I am Jaken.”
“What do you mean by that?” asked Sesshomaru, although deep down inside he had an idea.
“I am Jaken's sub conscience in a corporeal form.” said the beast like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “But now let's get back to the matter at hand, Jaken admires you, that's why he always follows you around, no matter the risk, so can you at least be nicer to him. You never know what you have until it's gone, so don't wait till then.”
He said it in a way that made Sesshomaru think. Who always goes into battle with him risking his life because he is so loyal? Jaken. Who looks after his Rin while he searches for Naraku? Jaken. And who, despite the fact that they were numerous and twice his size, killed the demon ticks that plagued an unlucky Sesshomaru who fell into a pit of them when he was in dog form? Jaken. All of those things and many others crossed his mind, and he realized what a true friend Jaken was to him. But he was not a good friend in return. He turned to the beast to thank him but he was gone. In his place was a confused Jaken who obviously doesn't know what just happened.
“Lord Sesshoma…” but he was cut off by a surprising hug from his lord. “Jaken I am so sorry for being a jerk to you, can you ever forgive me?” he said in the calmest tone possible.
“I forgive you, my lord” said lord Sesshomaru's faithful servant and friend as he bursted into tears. “I'm so ha ha happy “he said in between sniffles.
Watching this unfold from the back of a double-headed horse dragon was Rin, beaming with happiness. She was happy that Lord Sesshomaru and Lord Jaken could finally be friends. But a little creeped out at the same time at what it took to get things that way.
“But who knew that the chocolate I got from Kagome could do that to Jaken?” Rin asked Ah-Un.
Ah-Un just brayed in return and then continued his meal of grass.
