Just A Wish

Chapter 1 - Beginning of an End
"Keh," he quickly retorted finding no other answer that would leave his pride intact.
"How many times do you think you've said that word since I've known you?" the blue-gray eyed girl looked questionably up at him disrupting another unimportant argument that was currently taking place.
"Huh?" his stubborn scowl dropped to one that obviously stated 'boy-aren't-you-stupid' without need for words. "Why should it matter?"
"Just wondering..." the raven-haired beauty replied before turning away to rejoin their friends at the nearby campsite.
He closed his eyes as the beginnings of a headache planted itself within him while he rapidly shook his head at the utter stupidity he saw in this girl. And yet...as he returned his gaze once more to her his eyes immediately sank to the slow yet stead sway of her hips as she walked away from him like so many of the other times that they argued. 'Why must I do this to myself, I'm not interested in her...that way...a lot...well...AAAHHH! Stop thinking this...think...trees...grass...flowers...Kagome smells like flowers...ugh I'm hopeless...let's see...sky...dark...stars...' he forced his mind off of the girl he wanted so badly to reach out for but it still seemed that everything he tried to focus on somehow managed to turn around and run him smack back into thinking of her...again. 'There's no reason for me to think this...she's going home soon...I wonder if she'll come back to see me...even though the Shikon no Tama has been completed...she still has to care for it until we figure out the best wish for it...' but still a very small voice deep inside him urged 'you'll miss her...'
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
'Why does he always have to be like this? I was just going to try and talk for once. I just wanted to ask the best place to take the jewel until we make the wish...Sometimes he's just so...so...stubborn...well, okay, all the time. What am I going to do after we wish on the jewel?' Kagome contemplated all that had happened after the battle with Naraku.
<FLASHBACK>
"Naraku, you have killed all of our lives and now it's about time we repay you." Kagome's voice had echoed through the battlefield that held Naraku's last breath.
Pulling the string of her bow taut with the magical miko's arrow she released at the exact moment that the white-haired dog demon hanyou released his own and most powerful attack from Tetsusaiga. Along with the combined forces of Sango, Miroku, Sesshoumaru, Kouga, Ayame, and the young and newly blossoming miko Rin, a brilliant and colorful explosion of light turned the former feared hanyou into a harmless cloud of dust that soon drifted away on the breeze. The jewel had fallen silently to the ground in one complete sphere.

Chapter 1 complete...now on to Chapter 2...if you don't understand so far just hang in there it'll all come together...
