Welcome to yet another AU fic! I hope you enjoy it! I have had some things come to me recently that I just can’t get out of my head‚ so here it is!

This is my second longest One Shot ever, at about 18‚500 words! So‚ without further ado‚ enjoy the show! 😄

Just For a Night (Right?)

“I’m not so sure about this‚ Sango…” Kagome looked in the full length mirror of her and Sango’s hotel room. “Isn’t it a little… slutty?”

Sango stepped up next to her best friend and swung her right arm over her shoulders. “It’s sexy. And you said it yourself. You need to get over that no good loser ex of yours. What better way than to show off your assets and have the best night of your life?”

Kagome and her now ex-husband Hojo had finally finalized their divorce two weeks ago. They had been together since middle school and got married straight out of high school.

To everyone‚ they were the couple. Both good looking‚ both people pleasers‚ both well rounded individuals. Hojo seemed like the perfect man for her. 

Ten years down the drain.

Wasted on a cheating asshole.

Apparently Hojo had slept around on her for a better part of six years. 

Six fucking years.

So pretty much their entire marriage was based on nothing but lies.

She had been nothing but faithful from the beginning. She didn’t even want to go out on dates with him at first‚ but he was persistent. Always bringing her gifts and making her feel special. She eventually relented‚ and once she gave the quiet and sweet boy a chance‚ she thought she could really fall in love with him.

And she did.

She had ten years of spectacular dates and extravagant gifts and amazing compliments. 

But what does any of that matter if the man giving you those things can’t give you fidelity? 

He was the only man she was with. Her only experience and all of her firsts were given to him. She had faith in his boyish charm and his sweet words. She believed nothing like this could ever have happened to her.

Especially not on their ten year anniversary.

Ten years together. Married for seven of those long and wasted years.

Hojo had said he had a business trip. 

She rolled her eyes just thinking about it.

How many times had he gone on a business trip in the time they had been married?

Too many to freaking count.

So‚ while she was home‚ alone‚ and wishing her husband was with her on their special day‚ she decided to give him a call. She didn’t expect the phone to be picked up by some whore.

“Hello?” said whore had answered.

“Um‚ hi? Where’s Hojo?” Kagome’s heart was in her throat. She had told herself there was a perfectly good explanation for this. Maybe he was with a business partner? She completely ignored the fact that it was eleven at night on a Saturday.

“He’s in the shower. Who’s this?” the homewrecker had asked. Who else would be calling a man at eleven o’clock at night? 

Kagome had squeezed the phone between her fingers‚ almost breaking it in her ire. “I’m his wife. Who the fuck are you?” If you knew Kagome‚ you knew she only used such language if she was extremely pissed.

There was silence on the other end for what seemed like a small eternity. Then a laugh.

A fucking laugh.

“Oh. Well I guess it’s about time you found out anyways. Hojo and I have been sleeping together for six years.”

Kagome didn’t remember much else after that. She saw red. Hot fire burning through her veins. Her eyes blazing with a fury she had never felt before. She vaguely remembered screaming profanities at the dumb bitch before hanging up and allowing her anger to turn into anguish. 

She was hurt. Betrayed. Confused. Fucking pissed.

After crying herself to sleep that night‚ she packed her things and left. She wrote a note and left it where he would find it by the TV remote‚ then went over to Sango’s apartment. She blocked all contact with her husband and contacted a lawyer the following day.

The next time she saw him‚ it was in court. He had tried to apologize for his infidelity‚ but she didn’t want to hear it. She also didn’t feel like fighting for much. He got the house and she got half of the money. Then she never wanted to see him again.

They have been split up for three months with their divorce finalized for two weeks. Her heart was a little lighter now that she didn’t have to deal with people referring to her as Akitoki Kagome. She was back to being Higurashi Kagome‚ and it’s a refreshing start.

What she didn’t expect though‚ was for her best friend to drag her out to a weekend getaway at a five star hotel to find ‘the perfect rebound’. 

Sango’s words.

Not hers.

Kagome didn’t think she felt too comfortable with that. She had only ever had one sexual partner and she wasn’t the type of girl to just sleep around. But she allowed her friend to take her out‚ on the pretense that she will go to the bar to drink her problems away instead. No promises of sleeping with some sleazeball. Just booze and her own hand will do.

Shaking her thoughts free of the much too recent past‚ she sighed as she continued to check herself out in the mirror.

“I told you that I would drink. I never said I would sleep with some weirdo looking for a one night stand.”

Sango sighed as she looked them both up and down‚ giving an appreciative nod. “Well‚ here’s a room key to invite someone if you choose. And if you do bring Mr. One-night-stand back to the room‚ don’t forget to put the little do not disturb sign on the door‚ ‘kay?”

Kagome rolled her eyes as she tried to pull her too short dress down a little‚ only for her breasts to be exposed way more than she would have liked. She groaned at Sango’s whistle and fixed her dress back to where it belonged.

Pretty much high enough to see the bottom half of her ass and even higher when sitting down.

What the hell did she get herself into?

Sango grabbed her arm and tugged her toward the door. “Well come on‚ Kags. I could definitely use a drink.”

Kagome took a deep breath in as she grabbed her clutch and put it over her shoulder‚ following her much too eager friend out the door to head down to the hotel bar.

Inuyasha was pissed. He could be home right now‚ doing anything but this. His idiotic friend had somehow convinced him to go out to a hotel bar. The lecher said he needed to help find him a girl after his dry spell.

Like, what the fuck?

He had only been divorced for a year. He didn’t need to fuck some random whore to get his rocks off.

Okay‚ so maybe he had been divorced for a year‚ but he hadn’t had sex in over two years. 

That was one of the reasons for their marriage falling apart. He was married to Kikyo for two years and she only ever wanted to have sex during his human nights. So after the first year of their marriage‚ he said if she didn’t want to have him as he was‚ she wasn’t going to have him at all.

Well‚ that went just great.

They didn’t have sex for an entire year after that. So they had sex once a month during their first year of marriage and nothing beyond that. He decided to talk to her before coming to any conclusions‚ but that talk turned into screaming‚ which turned into her leaving and him saying ‘good fucking riddance’.

Married to a fucking racist bitch for two years.

It made a whole lot more sense about why she didn’t want to consummate their relationship until after they were married…

Then he found out she had been fucking some asshole named Suikotsu. She was really fucking good at washing the losers stench off of her skin too.

After learning about all that‚ he didn’t understand what he saw in her to begin with. And since he could fall out of love with her that fast‚ then he couldn’t have loved her much at all…

Well‚ now that he has been divorced for a little over a year‚ Miroku insisted on taking him out to get laid.

He rolled his eyes and asked what the hell the point would be in that? No self respecting woman would lay with a hanyou. He’d rather just stay home and use his own hand to get off.

Yet‚ here he was. Checking into a hotel because his god-damned annoying as fuck friend just had to get a room‚ assuming one of them would need it. 

Where the fuck did Miroku expect him to go if he had some chick in there with him? Because Kami knows that Miroku will most definitely end up with a girl in his bed‚ and Inuyasha will be at the bar until they close‚ to then just walk the fuck home to sleep it off.

He let out an insufferable sigh as he followed his less than stellar friend to their room. Well‚ Miroku’s room. There was no way Inuyasha was going anywhere near that room when the stench of sex‚ and the sounds of some random woman’s moans are going to be there.

No fucking thanks.

When they walked in‚ Inuyasha threw his suitcase into the corner and crossed his arms as he glared at the grinning man before him.

“I ain’t sleeping with some bimbo.”

Miroku was already undressed and putting on some cologne that was making the hanyou’s eyes water. “Come on man. I still can’t believe you were married for two years and only had sex twelve times.”

Inuyasha growled at his friends inability to keep his damn mouth shut. “Who the fuck cares? That just proves no woman wants a damn hanyou in their bed.”

Miroku pulled on his black slacks before beginning to button his purple dress shirt. “That’s bullshit and you know it. Now put the clothes on I picked out for you‚ so you can release some of that sexual frustration.”

Inuyasha groaned and growled as he ripped his clothes off and began to dress in some fucking clothes that he would never get caught in otherwise. “You’re a fucking dick.”

Miroku only laughed as he checked himself out in the mirror and put his hair back in a small ponytail at the nape of his neck. “You will be thanking me in the morning‚ my friend.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as he put his stupid button down dress shirt on‚ leaving two buttons undone at the collar and rolling up the sleeves‚ because he was not going to walk around looking like a fucking dork.

When he glanced in the mirror‚ his eyes traveled to the top of his head where two very noticable twitching dog ears lay. His scowl deepened‚ knowing that that was the reason for his failure as a husband. His Kami-damned hanyou features.

He moved over to the suitcase and pulled out the crimson beanie he brought‚ and placed it atop his head. When he looked back in the mirror‚ he sighed. He looked like he could pass as a full youkai to those without youkai senses.

Miroku turned from his own self fidgeting and cocked a brow at the hanyou. “You’re just gonna hide them? What the hell do you think that will accomplish once she undresses you?”

Inuyasha growled. “Nothin’‚ ya piece of shit. I’m wearing it so I don’t get noticed as a half-breed while at the bar. I ain’t gonna fuck some random woman!”

Miroku put his hands out in front of his body to wave his friend off. “Alright already. Let’s just go and loosen up with some drinks‚ yeah?”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as he put his wallet in his back pocket. “Whatever.”

Miroku nodded happily as he led the way to what Inuyasha assumed will become his early grave.

Because he planned to drink himself to oblivion tonight.

Kagome and Sango sat themselves in a secluded table near the bar; not too close and not too far away so they could survey the area. 

Well‚ so Sango could look for a man while Kagome ignored her search to nurse her alcohol and eat her food.

Kagome immediately ordered herself two vodka shots and a cocktail along with a plate of nachos with extra cheese sauce. Sango ordered one margarita along with some fried pickles.

When their drinks came‚ Kagome grabbed the two shots and downed them in seconds. Sango reached forward and put her hand atop her friend’s‚ and when Kagome made eye contact‚ she spoke.

“You really should pace yourself‚ Kags. You’re going to make yourself sick.”

Kagome shrugged her shoulders as the shots made a pleasurable heat sour through her chest and down to the pit of her stomach. She decided to sip on her drink until her cheesy nachos arrived.

“It’s not like I have anyone to impress. So who cares? I don’t drink often‚” she said between sips.

Sango took her own long sip of her drink before responding‚ “That’s the point. You don’t drink often. You are the most light weight person I have ever met. You’ll be drunk before you eat a single bite.”

Kagome only shrugged her shoulders as she continued to nurse her fruity beverage.

Inuyasha and Miroku walked into the bar; one of them with a perpetual scowl‚ and the other with an expectant grin. Inuyasha followed his friend to the bar and sat next to him‚ immediately ordering himself a beer from the youkai drink menu‚ and Miroku ordering himself a regular human beer.

Miroku eyed Inuyasha as he took a gulp of his cold beverage. “Can’t you get drunk off of regular human alcohol?”

Inuyasha glared at Miroku through the corner of his eye as he talked low enough to not be overheard. “I could yes‚ but then they would know I’m part human.”

Miroku sighed as he chugged his drink. “Who cares who knows‚ man? It isn’t a big deal.”

Inuyasha growled as he downed the entire beer and ordered a second. The youkai beverage already dulling his senses and making him loosen up a bit. “I care. So shut the fuck up.” As he reached for his second drink to put it up to his lips‚ the most incredible sound reached his covered ears‚ along with it was a scent that was more intoxicating than his beverage.

Inuyasha turned in his seat to see not even fifteen feet away from them‚ two women. One was in a knee high‚ strapless pink dress that showed a bit of cleavage at the top and wearing matching eye shadow. She had long straight dark brown hair with brown eyes.

But the woman that caught each one of his senses and made his mouth water‚ was the young raven haired beauty sitting next to her. She was in his favorite Kami-damned color dress‚ so short that he could almost see what lay underneath. Her legs were long and he could just tell by looking at them that they were smooth to the touch. His eyes almost bugged out of his face when he trailed them up her body to notice the way the dress criss crossed against her bust to tie in a bow at the back of her neck. The way it crosses over her chest‚ he could easily see the bottom half of her breasts spilling out‚ obviously not even covered by a bra. Her dress left a small portion of her stomach uncovered‚ along with half of her back. That fucking dress left so little to the imagination‚ he could eye fuck her so easily with how little he would need to guess about what lay beneath those sinful clothes.

He got a good look at her face‚ and his breath caught in his throat. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. Her bangs coming down to the top of her large brown eyes. Her complexion radiant‚ and her smile even better. He spent a good moment just staring at her face before his traitorous eyes raked back down her body once again.

His eyes traveled back down her legs to see the black heels she was wearing‚ adding even more lustful images to his alcohol buzzed brain.

The scent of vanilla and strawberries wafted to him again as she pushed her hair to her left shoulder‚ exposing the right side of her delicious neck to his hungry gaze. His mouth was practically watering and his inner demon was purring‚ wanting nothing more than to bury his nose deep into her–

“…asha? Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha shook his head as he turned back to see the amused look on his friend’s face‚ making his own face flush in embarrassment.

What the hell just happened? He’s never been so enraptured by anyone before. He’s never gotten lost in his thoughts like that before. 

He looked down at his beer‚ glaring at it like it’s the drink’s fault for his own sinful thoughts. 

Miroku chuckled as he looked over at the beauties at the nearby table. “They are a sight to behold‚ my friend. Especially the tall brunette in the pink dress. What I wouldn’t give to be with her.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. He honestly barely passed the other woman a glance before Miss. Red-Dress caught his eye. Not to say the other woman wasn’t beautiful‚ but this woman made his entire body flame with a desire he hadn’t even felt with his now ex-wife.

“Keh. Whatever lecher. I ain’t here to sleep around‚ and I doubt they are either.”

Miroku watched as his stubborn friend downed the rest of his drink and ordered a third one. He shook his head as he finished his first beer and picked up his second.

“Why don’t we at least buy them a drink? I know they caught your eye as well.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as his brain began to get more fuzzy‚ and his body began to get delightfully warmer. He glanced over at the women again and unintentionally licked his lips at the sight of Long-Legs.

“Feh‚ fine.” He took a discreet sniff in their direction and looked back at his friend. “They like the fruity crap.”

Miroku smirked as he waved the bartender over and ordered a couple of fruity cocktails for the sexy women at the nearby table.

Kagome had downed two more shots and was currently on her second cocktail‚ her chips long gone and now her goal was to just get sloshed. She was laughing and gossiping with her friend for the first time in what felt like years. Now that she wasn’t with Mr. Boring‚ she could actually let loose and have some fun for once.

She got startled out of her giggle fest when a bartender walked over with two drinks they definitely did not order.

The man set them on the table in front of the girls and smiled at them. “The young men at the bar wanted to buy you ladies a drink tonight.”

Kagome’s eyes widened slightly as Sango’s lit up at finally finding what she had come here for. They both looked over at the bar as the server walked away‚ locking eyes with the men in question.

Kagome immediately saw the golden eyes of the most attractive man she had ever laid eyes on. Actually‚ attractive is too tame a word for him.

Sexy. Mouth watering. Adonis. Completely and utterly fuckable.

Any of those would do.

He was wearing a bright red button up‚ with the top two buttons undone so she could get a glimpse of his chest. His sleeves were rolled up just past his elbows where she could see part of a tattoo peeking through.

And wow did that make liquid heat fill her in places she hadn’t felt in so long.

He was wearing dark black slacks that accentuate his strong thighs and what appeared to be an amazingly impressive package.

She licked her lips as she trailed her eyes back up his body to get a good look at his face once again. He was still staring at her. His golden eyes boring deep within her brown ones. A fang dipping just below his lip.

He had long silver hair with beautiful bangs that come just below his dark black eyebrows. She noticed the bright red beanie that matched his shirt was set atop his head. She had to admit he looked damn fine in those clothes‚ but she couldn’t help but imagine what he would look like without any clothes on.

She was pulled out of her current mind undressing of the demon‚ by her friend tapping her on the shoulder. She shook her head to look to her left and saw the grin on Sango’s face.

“What?”

Sango laughed as she took a sip of the drink the men sent over‚ and gave her a pointed look. “Why don’t you stop eye fucking the demon and actually fuck the demon? I’ll go and make friends with his hot friend.”

Kagome gulped as Sango began to stand. She grabbed her by the wrist with a slightly panicked expression on her face. “Wait. You don’t know who they are for Kami sake.”

Sango shrugged her shoulders as she pulled her phone out of her purse and held it up. “I’ll call you in the morning to tell you everything is fine.”

Kagome groaned. “You could be ten feet under by then.”

Sango made a pretty impressive growling sound in the back of her throat‚ but any retort was cut off by the man who had walked beside her.

“Hello ladies. I couldn’t help but overhear. I would like to personally promise that we have no ill intentions. I merely would enjoy the company of such a beautiful woman‚ while my friend over there couldn’t help but wish the same from you.”

Kagome blushed as she looked over at the demon who obviously heard what this man had said by the dark pink of his cheeks. She couldn’t stop the small smile that broke free at seeing such an adorable expression on such a sexy man. She slowly let go of her friend’s hand and stood up on wobbly legs. She lifted her glass and put her purse over her shoulder before looking at her friend.

“Call me.”

Sango nodded happily as she turned to the charming man beside her‚ and sat down across from him to get to know him better.

Kagome took a deep breath in as she walked over to the Adonis that caught her eye. She promised herself she wouldn’t do this. She never wanted to be a part of the one night stand club‚ but this man seemed to have some sort of pull on her. 

The intensity of his golden eyes as if they were boring straight into her very soul. The heat she could feel within her core as her heart fluttered within her chest. Her knees were getting weak the longer she looked at him and the closer she walked toward him. She couldn’t tell if those symptoms were from the alcohol or from the man who caught her attention‚ but she didn’t really care at the moment. She wanted to meet him. She needed to meet him.

So she sat down next to him at the bar and smiled as she sipped leisurely on her fruity beverage. After a few seconds of silence where he also drank on his beer‚ she placed the glass on the counter and held her right hand out.

“Hi.”

Inuyasha gulped as her scent enveloped his scenes. She was even more beautiful up close‚ and her incredible fragrance was getting him high with his desire for her. Not to mention‚ he could smell a small spike of arousal when she looked at him.

Fuck. He’s going to die tonight‚ isn’t he?

When she held out her hand to say hello‚ he swallowed the sudden lump in his throat as he took her delicate hand in his own large one‚ nearly whimpering at the feel of her touch.

“H-Hey.” He inwardly smacked himself. Real smooth‚ jackass.

Kagome giggled as her more than buzzed out brain took in his adorableness. Had she ever met someone so enthralling before? So drop dead gorgeous‚ yet incredibly cute at the same time? She wanted to fuck him into next week‚ but also cuddle with him.

Where the fuck did any of that even come from?

She pulled her hand from his firm grip and blushed as she took another sip of her liquid courage. Maybe Sango was right. Some fun for a night couldn’t be all bad.

Especially when the prize is the hunk of sexy sitting next to her.

“I’m Kagome.”

Inuyasha chugged the rest of his beer and quickly flagged the bartender down for another one. “Inuyasha.”

Kagome smiled, now knowing he was an Inu youkai. She heard they could be animals in bed. And with her drunken state at the moment‚ she couldn’t care less how he took her‚ as long as he did.

“Well‚ Inuyasha…” She tested his name out on her tongue‚ finding she really liked it and wanted to do nothing more than moan it out as he ravished her. “…It’s nice to meet you.” She gave him what she felt was a sultry smile as she sipped on her drink and stared into his honey eyes.

Inuyasha couldn’t prevent the small growl that escaped as he not only saw the look of pure want in her gaze‚ but her scent was screaming ‘fuck me’. Not to mention the way she said his name… Fuck‚ he wanted her to say his name over and over again.

Preferably while he was making her scream in ecstasy.

With a confidence he didn’t even know he possessed‚ he gave her a full fanged smirk‚ noting the delicious spike in her scent‚ and spoke with a husky note to his already deep voice.

“So‚ Ka-Go-Me… have any plans tonight?”

Kagome had to squeeze her thighs together as he said her name. Kami‚ how she wanted him to say her name in the throes of passion. She licked her lips as she glanced down at his‚ a sexy fang poking out‚ and then looked back into his smoldering golden eyes.

She scooted just a little closer to him so their knees were slightly touching and then leaned forward‚ looking up at him through her lashes as she spoke just above a murmur.

“That depends. Are you free?”

Inuyasha let a soft rumble escape‚ nose flaring at the spike in her scent as he leaned down to be just a breath away from her delicious looking lips. “Very.”

Kagome let a sultry smile cross her face as she looked down at his lips and back into his eyes. His body heat radiating against her from his close proximity. His masculin scent making her want to bend to his every whim and do whatever he said.

She had to take a deep breath in to calm her raging libido. She wanted this night to be rememberable‚ because if she was going to fuck some stranger from a hotel bar‚ she wanted it to be a night to remember.

She quickly pulled back to smile at him mischievously. “Well‚ there’s a pool table over there. Wanna play?”

Inuyasha was stunned for a moment. What the fuck just happened? Her lips were so fucking close‚ he knew she wanted him. Was this some sort of game? He caught the sparkle in her eye and that Kami-damned smile‚ making his own grin reappear.

So‚ she wanted to play.

He could do that.

He downed the rest of his beer and stood‚ holding a hand out for her to take‚ which she did so eagerly. When was the last time someone accepted his touch without a second thought? She didn’t even seem to mind that he had claws and fangs.

He decided not to dwell on that for now and just live in the moment. “Let’s see what ya got‚ woman.”

Kagome giggled as she took down the rest of her beverage and set the glass down on the bar‚ taking his hand as he offered it‚ and walking over to the pool table. She reluctantly let go of his strong grasp to grab a pool cue and the rack from the wall. She turned and handed him the cue as she began to set up the game.

“I’ll rack and you break?”

Inuyasha just went from half hard to fully erect in a second. Kami how she smelled so delicious and how she obviously knew her way around a pool table was enthralling. He smirked and nodded as he grabbed the chalk to get his cue ready for the game.

He watched eagerly as the damn woman bent over to reach for balls just out of her grasp. He had to bite back a groan when he got a good look at the bottom half of her ass. That damn dress was going to kill him.

He would at least die a happy man.

He growled as he watched her walk around the table‚ grabbing each ball and putting them into the rack. She seemed to be taking her sweet ass time‚ not that he was complaining. He had a nice view of her ass when she faced the other way‚ and a fantastic view of her rack when she was facing him.

Yup‚ she’s definitely going to be the death of him.

He was having an amazing vision of bending her over that table when she spoke.

“Ready?”

He shook his head and looked into her amused eyes. “Feh.” He walked over to the end of the table and watched as she stood in the opposite end with her arms crossed. And holy Kami‚ that made her breasts get pushed up and his mouth water at the sight.

If he wasn’t careful‚ he’d start panting like the dog he was.

“Inuyasha?”

Damn that woman.

Without responding‚ he lined up his pool cue with the cue ball and took his shot. The sound of balls smacking together before two were pocketed rang throughout the bar.

Kagome was watching this man with great interest. She had never done anything like this before. Using her body to distract him and she actually seemed to be enjoying herself. The way his eyes were obviously wandering to her assets and how easily she could make him putty in her hands.

Oh‚ she was going to have fun tonight.

She wanted to climb him like a tree and fuck his brains out‚ but with how things were going‚ she planned to tease him until he couldn’t take it anymore and fucked her into next week.

Her walls clenched just thinking about being filled.

Was her drunken brain making these decisions for her‚ or would she want this sexy man no matter what?

It honestly didn’t matter at all when she saw his muscled arms line up the cue and make the first move. The balls rattled off and two were pocketed‚ but she paid them no mind. Her eyes were busy watching the flex of his muscles through that shirt of his. Kami, what she would do to make him moan.

Suddenly the man of her day dream was in front of her‚ looking down at her. Even in those freaking heels‚ he still towered over her. She looked up into his smoldering golden eyes and her legs felt weak.

When did he even walk over to her?

She walked‚ more like waddled‚ into the bathroom and shut the door behind herself. She looked in the mirror and immediately regretted it. 

If I was Inuyasha‚ I would have run screaming at the look of me.

She shook her head of those thoughts and decided to do something about her morning zombie look. She quickly relieved herself of her full bladder before starting the shower. She went back to the sink while the water heated up and pulled her toothbrush down‚ putting a healthy glob of toothpaste on it‚ and wetting it before shoving it into her mouth.

She brushed her teeth thoroughly for a few minutes before rinsing her mouth out and stepping into the hot water. She sighed happily as she felt the aches within overused muscles slowly feel better as the water sprays pleasantly across her body. She took her time washing her hair‚ getting all the knots out from the most incredible night of her life‚ and then washed her body clean too. As much as she enjoyed the night before‚ she also felt sticky and sweaty and needed to feel clean and smooth again.

A pang of something that could only be hurt hit her in the heart. She should have stayed up the night before. She should have forced herself to stay awake to talk to him. 

And tell him what? It’s not like I could just say‚ “stay with me. I caught real feelings for you.” I’m such an idiot. She rolled her eyes at herself. That is not how one night stands work. You don’t have sex and then‚ boom‚ you’re dating.

She sighed as she finished up her shower and stepped out‚ grabbing the fluffy hotel towel and drying herself thoroughly. She wrapped the towel around herself at the top of her breasts and gave one more look in the mirror. No more zombie Kagome. Just walk of shame Kagome.

She shook her head as she opened the bathroom door to head back into the main room to get dressed and message Sango. Hopefully since Sango wasn’t there‚ that meant she was still enjoying herself‚ and not dead in a ditch or something.

Yeah‚ she needed to text Sango.

When she walked out of the bathroom and faced the bed‚ her heart nearly exploded. She stopped in her tracks at the man sitting there in the same clothes he wore last night and a less cocky grin on his face‚ replaced by a more subdued smile.

“I-Inuyasha?”

Inuyasha swallowed his nerves and stood up‚ picking up the cup of coffee from the side table he had grabbed from a café down the street‚ not wanting to get her anything from the free hotel kitchen. This may be an expensive hotel‚ but the coffee still smelled like ass.

He held the coffee up toward her and looked down at her shocked expression‚ his ears lowering slightly. Was this a bad idea? Either way‚ he needed to say something.

“I uh… got you a coffee and a breakfast sandwich.” He pointed to the small brown bag on the side table that was sitting next to his own coffee.

Kagome took the cup from his hands as a genuine smile broke out on her face. “Th-Thank you…” She took a sip of her coffee and sighed as the warmth slid down her throat.

Inuyasha stuffed his hands into his pockets and looked around anxiously. “Look. I uh… I’ve never done ya know… anythin’ like that before. One night stands or whatever…”

Kagome gave him a slightly shocked look. Not that she expected him to be the type of guy to sleep around‚ but going by the fact that he was over five hundred years old‚ it’s a little surprising. 

She nodded slowly as she took another sip of her hot beverage. “Y-Yeah‚ me neither.”

Inuyasha took a step forward and steeled his nerves for what he was going to say next. “I’m uh… hoping that I still haven’t… ya know‚ if ya want to make this not a one night thing… I uh… Shit‚ I ain’t good with words when I'm sober.”

Kagome’s eyes widened even further as she stared at him in shock. Is he…? She gulped as she took that final step between them‚ placing her coffee on the table beside them and putting her right hand to his chest and her left on the nape of his neck. “What are you saying?”

Inuyasha looked into her brown eyes and his resolve was settled. Her scent engulfed him‚ the scent of strawberries and vanilla‚ the scent of her hope and raising happiness. The scent of salt from tears that have yet to fall. He put his hands to her waist and drew lazy circles with the pads of his thumbs through the towel she still wore.

“Would ya maybe wanna go on a date? Like a real date where I buy ya dinner?”

Kagome’s smile was radiant as he asked that question. She immediately pulled him closer and captured his lips with hers. Melding their mouths together in a soft and sensual embrace that they didn’t share the night before. The beginnings of something more. 

More than just raw passion and the need to get off. More than sex and cumming. Just more.

The feel of his lips against hers was something she never wanted to give up. It’s more than just a kiss. It’s finding a place to belong. It’s finding her person. Her home.

Inuyasha felt exactly the same way. He had found the one person he could truly be himself with. His ears unhidden and his personality not reserved. They were like fire and ice; complete opposites‚ but sizzle together. They belonged within the arms of the other‚ and they will begin this new journey together exploring what will be the most incredible adventure ever.

Even though they barely knew each other‚ it felt as if they have known each other their entire lives. As if they grew up together and shared their deepest secrets and desires with one another. They already knew the other’s bodies‚ but now they will learn everything there was to know about their thoughts and how their lives were before meeting the night before.

Yeah‚ it’s a little backwards. A one night stand that wasn’t actually a one night stand. A night of drunken sex and passion turning into something so much more. 

But neither of them were upset about how they met. If anything‚ it made it even better. Nothing to hide and nothing to fear from just being themselves. 

Maybe they couldn’t use the L word just yet‚ but whatever they have was a sure thing. They both felt it in their hearts‚ and they knew this was meant to be.

As Kagome pulled back from his mouth‚ she smiled up at him so wide‚ it made his heart pound within his chest. He moved a strand of hair from her face to behind her ear and gave her forehead a kiss before stepping back.

Kagome picked up her purse from the floor where she threw it last night and pulled her phone out. She saw a text from Sango saying she will meet her downstairs around 10:00. Looking at the time‚ it was now 9:55‚ so she sent out a quick text to let her know she will be down soon.

She turned back to Inuyasha and saw his ears twitch in her direction‚ making her giggle as she walked back up to him and reached up to tweak an ear.

“When’s our date‚ dog boy?”

Inuyasha chuckled and kissed her on the nose. “How ‘bout tomorrow?”

Kagome’s smile widened as she nodded happily. “Sounds perfect.”

Five years later…

“She’s beautiful‚ Kagome.”

Kagome smiled at her friend as she looked down at the small bundle in her arms. After being married for two years‚ she and Inuyasha decided it was time to start a family of their own. 

Sango and Miroku already have twin girls and a little boy‚ and Kagome had had baby fever going on for three years now. But they took time to enjoy married life and each other before starting a family. 

On the night of their wedding almost three years ago‚ Kagome happily accepted Inuyasha’s mark‚ sealing her soul with his‚ along with her lifespan.

They couldn’t be happier to have found each other all those years ago. They laugh about it now. Something Kagome refused to tell her mother‚ brother and grandfather‚ was exactly the way she and Inuyasha had met. She left it at ‘met at a bar’ and that was that.

Inuyasha didn’t have the ability to be less forthcoming with his father since the old demon could scent lies from a mile away. So he spent a greater part of a week being teased by his father‚ coddled by his mother who tried not to laugh at his expense‚ and his older brother silently judging him.

Yet‚ here they were now. Kagome laid in the hospital bed‚ sweaty and hair tousled‚ as she held their baby girl in her arms. Raven black hair like her mother‚ brown eyes with little speckles of gold‚ a mix between the both of them. Little tiny claws on each of her fingers‚ and human ears on the side of her tiny head.

Inuyasha wrapped an arm around his wife and mate while sitting on the side of the bed‚ and looked down at the little shihanyou in the arms of the most amazing woman in the world.

Kagome turned her head to look into Inuyasha’s eyes and smiled widely. “I love you.”

Inuyasha gave her a peck on the lips and nuzzled his cheek against hers‚ not even caring about his two other friends being in the room with them. “I love you too‚ koi.”

Kagome couldn’t stop the tears as they fell‚ holding her baby girl in her arms as her husband nuzzled into her.

“What’s her name?” came a male’s voice from the other side of the bed.

Kagome and Inuyasha looked over at Miroku and Sango‚ both with matching smiles on their faces as they answered in unison.

“Moroha.”

They all looked down at the small bundle in Kagome’s arms‚ noticing the little baby beginning to fuss. She rocked her slowly as she looked back over at her friends.

“I’m gonna have to feed her now. Thank you so much for coming‚ guys.”

Sango smiled knowingly as she gave her friend a big hug and dragged her own husband out of the room with her.

Kagome pulled her gown open so her newborn could latch on for her evening meal. She sighed happily as she stroked her babies rosy cheek. “I can’t believe she’s here.”

Inuyasha kissed Kagome’s cheek as he placed a clawed hand gently under Moroha’s head to help keep her steady as she fed. “Yeah. She’s perfect‚ just like her mama.”

Kagome laughed as a small sob broke free. She stroked the happy baby’s cheek as she turned to give Inuyasha a sweet kiss. When they broke apart‚ she rested her forehead against his and sighed happily.

“I love you so much‚ Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha sighed heavily‚ content and happy that he found his person all those years ago. “I love you too. Both of you. More than anything.”

What started as a fun night to let loose and forget about old pain‚ turned into the start of something new. Something worth fighting for and something meant to last. They both believed it was love at first sight‚ they just didn’t want to admit it at the time. They almost walked away from the other because they were worried to say anything further‚ but when the chance was made‚ they lept in with open arms‚ clinging to each other and loving each other with their whole hearts.

They butt heads and they fight‚ just like any couple. They have their ups and downs‚ but they would never regret the decision to go on a real date after that night together five years ago.

Because they knew from the moment they kissed‚ that it was definitely not going to be just for a night.

They’ll be together every single night for the rest of their lives.
