Weird Dreams

Chapter 1

 

“Oi Mum, where are the plates?” screamed Aki as she scavenged around the kitchen looking for the said item.

 

“Look on the top right cabinet honey” her mother replied as she prepared the table to eat dinner.

 

“Thanks” said the thirteen yr. old getting the plates.

 

As they laid the things down her brother came running down the stairs, spraying everything with water.

 

“ KYO!!! Don't you know that you have to get dried and then dressed after you take a bath? Gosh!” Aki screamed as she shut her eyes as the naked 4yr. old asked her mother for a towel.

 

“They're in the closet, sweetie”

 

“Thanks mommy” then he ran off upstairs.

 

“Oh my, what would you two do without me? I can't wait till your father comes back from his deployment, I really miss him.” Their mother said as she sat down and started to cut her son's meat, Aki sat down too and with a big sigh started to eat, she also missed her father.

 

They started to talk and after dinner Aki stood up and went to wash her plate, after that she went to her room and changed, then she went to sleep.

“No! Please just leave!” she screamed as she ran into a tunnel.

 

`Come on feet! I have to keep on running, let me see, there's one big one on the front and behind him there are a bunch of little ones, AHH! They're demons! I thought demons only appeared in myths, come on Aki hurry up!' her heart skipped a beat as she fell down, `Damm I probably slipped on a rock, ouch, I think my ankle is broken, oh great what will I do now?”

 

She looked up to see the demons finally gained on her, she bend down with her hands over her head, waiting for her eminent death.

 

“Oh no you don't!” she heard somebody scream, it sounded like a boy, `he sounds my age, I hope he's a good guy…'

 

“Are you okay?” the boy sweetly asked, kneeling down to her level.

 

“Yeah I'm okay, except for a broken ankle, I'm just peachy, well anyways thanks for saving me,” she said as she stood up with the help of the boy, when she stood up she noticed that her pajamas had been replaced by archer clothes, a short brown and green skirt, a tank top that showed her belly, it was brown and green also, then a pair knee-length boots that were green, and two gloves, with the fingers cut out and reaching to her elbow. The clothes went great with her long and wavy Jet-Black hair and hazel colored eyes. In her hand was a long and brown bow, and then she noticed the quiver of arrows on her back,

 

“Welcome, who are you? I haven't seen you around here before, don't you know this area is dangerous?” he said examining her, “and aren't bowmen good fighters? Well you seem young and you are hurt, so I shouldn't judge, well anyways my name is Anari, what's yours?” he said reaching his hand out to shake hers.

 

“Well I'm Aki, the reason you haven't seen me here before is because I'm not from here, which also explains why I didn't know this place was dangerous, and I didn't know I was an archer, and I'm 13 so excuse me for not being good at something I don't know!” she said reaching out her hand to shake his.

 

“so you aren't from here huh?” he repeated scratching his head, it was so dark here that she didn't know what he looked like.

 

“Ummm Anari? Can we go somewhere that isn't this dark? I can't see too good.” Aki said as she squinted, trying to see Anari clearly, she couldn't.

 

“Oh yeah you must be a normal human sorry I forgot.” He said as he asked her if she could walk, when she said no he picked her up and put her in his back. “Hang on it's going to be a bumpy ride!” then he started running and jumping at a very fast pace, when they reached the outside the bright light made Aki have to close her eyes.

 

“Ok we're outside, now we have to go to the village, Old Kaede is going to help you with your wound, my mom is also good at healing wounds, and my dad is… well weird.” He stopped talking since aki started giggling, “what's so funny?”

 

“Oh nothing”

 

“Keh” he said, they got out of the forest they had been in and a village came into view, “okay we're almost there”

 

“Almost where?”

 

“My house, it's inside that other forest over there.” He pointed to the right with his head. “Now hang on, I'm going to run even faster.” and with one leap they landed at his house.

 

“Mom! There's a girl here who needs help!”

 

“Okay honey I'll be there in a second!”

 

Anari set Aki down and she could get a good look at him, he was wearing a blue kimono, his hair was long and silver, but it was held up with a ponytail, and on top of his head were two cute dog ears.

 

Just as his mother came out Aki asked Anari if she could touch his ears.

 

“Heck no!”

 

“Now Anari, don't be mean, hello my name is Kagome, what's yours?” she said as she helped Aki to her feet.

 

“I'm aki, nice-” she was interrupted by a man coming through the doorway of the house screaming at kagome.

 

“Kagome I told you not to wear those outside!”

 

“Inuyasha if I want to wear these I will okay? And the more you tell me not to the more I will” she said with a chuckle.

 

Inuyasha was like an older version of Anari, only that he had his hair flowing freely, but they both shared the same stunning amber eyes, and cute dog ears.

 

“Ummm excuse me Miss Kagome, may I ask where I am? And why are you wearing a tank top with jeans? And why are them two wearing kimonos?” Aki asked with a confused expression.

 

“Just call me kagome, and what year do you think it is?”

 

“ Isn't it 2006?”

 

“ Oh dear, you also came from the future, well let me explain everything to you, Anari please bring her in, and Inuyasha please go get some medicinal herbs” kagome directed as she went into their house, Aki took a close look at it and it looked like a feudal palace!

 

Anari put Aki down next to his mother, Aki thanked him and then kagome told him to go help his father.

 

As Anari left kagome started the story of the Shikon jewel.

 

Anari sighed, why was his heart beating so fast? `Dammit why is this happening?' he asked himself.

 

“So… Anari,” Inuyasha said from a tree, an I-Know-What-You're-Thinking-About look on his face, “why are you so nervous?”

 

“I-I don't know what you're talking about!” he said turning around, “besides aren't you supposed to be getting herbs?”

 

“I already got them, so… you like this girl don't ya?”

 

“I don't know, it's just something about her…”

 

“Shit, Anari we have to talk.” Inuyasha said as he jumped off the tree.

 

“About what?”

 

“just follow me.”

 

“ok”

 

Inuyasha led them over to a nearby river, they walked a bit up river, and then Inuyasha jumped up to a tree, Anari followed him.

 

“Well son, I don't think I have explained to you how an Inu-Youkai, umm how should I put this? Well gets a mate.” He said scratching his head.

 

“No, how?” Anari asked interest showing in his eyes.

 

“Well there are steps to it. First, you can smell people's scents, right?” Anari nodded “ okay well sometimes Inu-Youkai smell who they want as mates, it's just something about their scent that makes you happy, the second step is that you start courting them a lot, what I mean by courting is like helping her too much and so on, Third-” Inuyasha was interrupted by kagome screaming for him and Anari.

 

“Dad this will have to wait we have to go with mom.” He said as they started running to their house.

 

When they reached the house they went in immediately, they saw kagome standing up and Aki lying down on the floor, Anari went to her and kneeled down next to her.

 

“kagome what happened?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“I don't know she just fainted. Inuyasha look at her!” kagome pointed to Aki as she started glowing a dark red.

 

“ Mom, tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't she a miko?”

 

“yes she is one but how did you know?” kagome asked.

 

“ She smells like one.” Inuyasha explained.

 

Aki started disappearing as her red aura grew.

 

“Aki? What's happening mom?”

 

“Anari maybe she has to go back to the future.” Kagome replied as she knelt down next to her son. She placed her hand on his shoulder, “don't worry we will see her again.”

 

As Aki disappeared Anari hung his head, he didn't know how but he really liked her, maybe even loved her, and maybe he would never see her again… `This sucks a hell lot.'

“Honey what's wrong?” her mother said as she shook Aki.

 

“Nothing mum” Aki said half-asleep, she was rubbing her eyes as she asked her mom why she was so scared

 

“You started screaming In your sleep, and then you started talking to yourself about demons. Are you sure you're okay?” her mother asked worriedly.

 

“Yea I am mom just go to sleep.” Aki said with a grin `so it was all a dream? I hope it wasn't, it couldn't have been, it was all too real.' She hoped to herself that her `dream boy' had been real.

 

With a heavy sigh she lied down to sleep again, this time she didn't have a dream.

 

AN: the next part is two years later.

 

“Mum do I have to do this?” Aki asked, trying to get used to the traditional kimono she was wearing.

 

“Of course honey! Please, just do it for me, it's just that in Japanese culture there isn't a type of Quinceanera, and in Venezuela I had mine, so I just wanted you to get blessed at our local shrine.” Her mother responded with a type of whine.

(AN: a Quinceanera is a sweet sixteen but in Hispanic cultures it's at 15, well Aki's mom is Venezuelan, and so am I!!! lol well on with the story.)

 

aki let out a sigh of exasperation in response.

 

“okay we're here!” her mother chimed.

 

As they made their way up the large white staircases, aki saw a familiar silver aura, `Omigod, could it be him? But I thought it was just a dream… okay aki, calm yourself down…' she though, she then started wondering why her `miko' powers were acting up now.

 

“aki please be in your best behavior, the shrine keeper is one of my close personal friends, her name is Kagome,” she stopped when her daughter started running up the stairs.

 

Her heart started beating fast, could this be Miss kagome? Anari's mom? She secretly hoped it was.

 

Dum, Dum

 

She was almost all the way up.

 

Dum, Dum

 

“I think I can smell her” Anari absentmindedly murmured

 

Dum, Dum

 

She reached the end of the staircase and rested her hands on her knees to gain some air. When she looked up she saw those beautiful amber eyes, and that silver mane of hair, it was covered with a bandana, but she just figured it was to hide his ears.

 

“Ana…Anari?” she whispered as she absentmindedly started to walk towards him.

 

“Aki, is that you?” the boy asked to himself as he too started running towards the girl he thought he would never see again.

 

“Inuyasha, I think aki is back.” Kagome said happily, nudging Inuyasha on his ribcage.

 

“Aki? Isn't aki that girl that we helped like 2 years ago?” Inuyasha asked scratching his head.

 

“ yeah, I think I know how she could have come to the past, I've been thinking over the years, it's an old type of magic. I'll explain later.” Kagome said she started running towards her old friend

 

“Aki? Please tell me this is not a dream…” Anari said as they reached each other.

 

“Believe me I don't want it to be one either, how have you been?” she said as she caught her breath.

 

“Okay I guess. But-” Anari was cut short when Aki hugged him. He didn't know what to do, so he just hugged her back.

“hi kagome! How have you been? Why are Aki and Anari hugging? I thought they had never met.” Aya asked her old friend from high school.

 

“ Aya remember in high school when I always missed those days in school?”

 

“yeah, why did you?”

 

“well it's a long story. So just come with me.”

 

She grabbed the confused mother and walked over to Inuyasha.

 

“Inuyasha we are going to tell everything to Aya, but I want to do it at our house.”

“kagome! We cant do that!”

 

“Yes we can, I trust Aya.” Kagome grinned at her friend. “Inuyasha we'll meet you by the well, you tell Anari to bring Aki over with him too, then you come back and help me take Aya over there.” kagome directed, her mind already set.

 

Inuyasha grumbled a few choise words about her decision and stormed off to find the teens.

 

“I HEARD that!”

 

“Bite me then!”

 

“Kagome? I don't mean to come between your husband and you..”

 

“It's okay” kagome said grinning.

 

When they reached the well they stopped to talk. The waited on the others while kagome started to explain what they were going to do.
