A/n: Well I don't want this entire story to only be sess/Kag, they are the main pairing but they aren't the only pairing. Last chapter was a bit of San/Mir but it's time for some Shippo/Rin, they are both 13 and fit in that tween category so nothing more than kissing at this time!

 

Rin hurried back to her room.

 

“Shippo, Kagome asked Rin if Rin liked you” Rin said.

 

“Well do you?” Shippo asked. He was really curious, he thought they liked each other but he hadn't had the courage to ask her.

 

“Well sorta” Rin blushed, Shippo blushed along with her.

 

“I do too” Shippo added.

 

“Rin was wondering, should we tell Lady Kagome?” Rin asked, that was her mom figure and she didn't want to keep it a secret.

 

“No way, if Fluffy won't allow us to be together” Shippo said, he was scared of Sesshomaru. He was huge compared to Shippo.

 

Rin agreed, she didn't think Sess would allow them to date; he nearly chopped Kouga's head off for kissing Kagome's hand.

 

“But you're Kagome's son, Lord Sesshomaru can't kick you out or hurt you” Rin said, she didn't want Shippo to leave her, he was the only one her age in the castle.

 

“But he can try to separate us then Kagome and Sess will break up” Shippo whined, he didn't want his mom to be unhappy either.

 

“What about Inuyasha, he won't tell” Rin suggested, her uncle seemed like a nice person to tell.

 

“No but he'll tell Kagome” Shippo argued.

 

They both agreed it was true. That left them in a bind.

 

It was getting close to evening, Kagome walked into bedroom, “Rin, Shippo time for bed” She said.

 

“Night Rin” Shippo said while Kagome wasn't looking, he blew her a kiss. Rin blushed lightly. Kagome quietly tucked in Rin. When she went into the hallway she saw Jaken.

 

“Jaken, where's Sesshomaru” Kagome asked.

 

“Lord Sesshomaru is patrolling his lands, and said that I was in the way, he will be back tomorrow night” Jaken said answering.

 

“Shall I tell Lord Sesshomaru that you did not address me as Lady Kagome of the west” Kagome teased.

 

“No ma'am, please forgive this lowly Jaken” Jaken quickly apologized and scurried off.

 

Kagome was suddenly tired and went to fall asleep in Sess's bed. Inuyasha slept in her old room.

 

The Next Morning….

 

“Come on, Rin” Shippo whispered.

 

“Go where” Rin asked.

 

“Just come” Shippo insisted. Rin hurried up and followed him; he led her out the gardens.

 

“Rin, I was thinking, maybe when we get older, we could marry” Shippo said.

 

“Shippo, don't demons mate” Rin asked.

 

“Yeah but I want to marry you” Shippo said. They looked up into the clouds.

 

“Rin” Shippo whispered.

 

“Yes” Rin replied.

 

“We should go on a date” Shippo said.

 

“We can't leave the castle grounds” Rin stated.

 

“Yes but we can go to the private gardens” Shippo suggested.

 

“There's a barrier” Rin started.

 

“Kagome takes it down at 10:30 and puts it back up at midnight” Shippo said.

 

“How do you know?” Rin asked.

 

“I followed her once” Shippo said.

 

“So after dinner tonight, we'll go to bed early, then get up around 11, stay in the garden an hour and come back” Shippo said.

 

“Rin will meet you” Rin promised. She just lay beside Shippo watching the clouds go by. But they were interrupted but Inuyasha.

 

“Oi pups, why are you & Rin out here unsupervised” Inuyasha asked.

 

“We're not babies” Shippo yelled. “

 

“You guys are only 13” Inuyasha shot back.

 

“We can take care of ourselves” Rin said.

 

“It's dangerous out here” Inuyasha said.

 

“You're so immature” Shippo said laughing.

 

“Shut up Runt” Inuyasha yelled, smacking him upside the back of his head.

 

“Sit boy” Kagome yelled.

 

Inuyasha smacked into the ground. Kagome went over to Shippo and Rin.

 

“What are you doing out here?” She asked.

 

“Just watching the clouds” Rin said. Kagome looked up, the clouds were pretty.

 

“Well come inside, it's getting late” Kagome said.

 

“Please, a few more minutes” Shippo begged.

 

“Jaken watch Rin and Shippo” Inuyasha said.

 

“I don't have to listen to a lowly hanyou” Jaken mumbled.

 

“Jaken, don't talk about Inuyasha” Rin said. Jaken mumbled something lower.

 

After a few hours….

 

“Dinner” Kagome yelled. Shippo and Rin spent their supervised time apart, consciously making sure that they spent time alone. When they got in the house, Jaken wasn't with them.

 

“Where is Jaken?” Kagome asked.

 

“He was tired” Rin said. A few moments later Jaken stepped in.

 

She made chicken ramen, she owed Inuyasha for the watching her.

 

“Wait for the pups” Kagome hissed. They walked slowly down the stairs.

 

“Sit down” Kagome said softly, both kids took a seat on either side of Kagome.

 

After they finished eating, the most silent and boring meal, Shippo and Rin were ready to go to bed.

 

“Lady Kagome, may Rin go to bed” Rin asked.

 

“Sure Rin, Shippo you go too, Kagura please escort them” Kagome said.

 

Kagura ushered the 2 children from the room and up to get ready for bed.

 

“Fluffy better get back soon, I need to leave” Inuyasha said.

 

“To see Kikyo” Kagome asked.

 

“No just to get away” Inuyasha snorted.

 

“Oh, ok, I'm going to bed” Kagome announced, getting up and walking to the edge of the stairs.

 

“I'll join you” Inuyasha said.

 

“I'm not cheating on Sess” Kagome said quickly.

 

“I wasn't asking you to, wench, I'll just be in the same room” Inuyasha added. Kagome silenced herself, she felt bad for accusing Inuyasha.

 

Kagome rested in her bed listening to her video Ipod while Inuyasha dose to sleep in the chair near her bedside. Around 10:30 p.m., Kagome snuck out of bed.

 

“Bitch, where are you going?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“To the private garden, you can't go” Kagome said bravely.

 

“I am” Inuyasha rebutted.

 

“It's protected by a barrier, I won't need your protection” Kagome insisted.

 

“How long are you staying?” Inuyasha questioned.

 

 “About an hour” Kagome answered, putting on her robe.

 

Inuyasha gave her a quick nod and she went about her business.

A/n: Yeah I know it was quick but the point is that Kagome catches Rin & Shippo together, Sesshomaru comes home from the patrol. Rin & Shippo plead their case to Kagome, Kagome convinces Sesshomaru to let them go out and Sesshomaru goes along with it, just to please Kagome. I lost the rest of this scene so I'm giving a summary.
