Sesshomaru's strange behavior

 

“Did you sleep well, Kagome?” Kouga asked during breakfast the next morning. Kagome smiled warmly at him.

 

“Yes I did, better than I ever have,” She answered, she was glad to see he wasn't smothering her with love and attention.

 

“Mistress Kagome, did you ask Lord Sesshomaru?” Rin hinted, Kagome remembered her little promise to Rin.

 

“No, sorry I must have forgotten,” Kagome apologized, then she turned promptly to face Sesshomaru

 

“Ask this Sesshomaru what?” Sesshomaru questioned, he wondered if it was something good.

 

“I was wondering; could I take Rin outside for her lessons this weekend?” Kagome asked. Rin hardly gets a chance to go outside because Sesshomaru & Jaken are so busy with working.

 

“Maybe another time,” Sesshomaru said, going back to eating his breakfast. But Kouga saw the disappointment on Kagome and Rin's faces

 

“I could take them and protect them,” Kouga suggested. He hated to his Kagome upset.

 

“This Sesshomaru already said no,” Sesshomaru inwardly frowned, he noticed Rin looked like she was going to cry. He hated tears, as much as he hated whining and begging.

 

“Please Lord Sesshomaru, allow Rin to go outside.” Rin begged.

 

“Lord Sesshomaru already said no, if we finish lessons quickly then maybe we can go and Prince Kouga already agreed to watch over us.” Kagome promised. Rin smiled widely.

 

“Kagome, come with this Sesshomaru after breakfast” He demanded. She didn't like it but he was offering his home to her so she complied.

 

“Yes Lord Sesshomaru,” She said, Kouga noticed her answer and was a little surprised. She didn't seem as feisty as she usual did.

 

“Kagura, watch Rin,” Sesshomaru ordered. Kagura guided Rin out of the breakfast hall to her wing of the castle. Meanwhile, Kagome followed Sesshomaru out to the gardens, they were as pretty as Rin said them to be.

 

“What did you want to talk about?” Kagome asked. Sesshomaru ignored her tone and continued talking.

 

“Do you like Kouga?” He demanded. His usual cold façade was on but you could see in his eye the intention behind the question

 

“I thought I already explained we're just friends,” Kagome stammered. She was shocked by the bluntness of his question.

 

“This Sesshomaru saw how you hugged him,” Sesshomaru commented, Kagome was confused now.

 

“How did you see, the door was shut,” Kagome said

 

“It doesn't matter...” He started but Kagome interjected, now it was all making since.

 

“You had no right to spy on me!” She yelled. Sesshomaru noticeably winced because of her volume.

 

“It is this Sesshomaru's house; this Sesshomaru may spy whenever he pleases.” He said. He didn't like her attitude

 

“You used Kanna's mirror,” She said, it was more of a statement than a question but he confirmed it.

 

“This Sesshomaru did so; you found comfort in Kouga's arms and this Sesshomaru knows you have more feelings then you are admitting to.” He sounded so comfortable as if he knew the answer.

 

“I do not have any feelings for Kouga beyond friendship and I was hoping that you'd believe me.” She said. She stood up and began to walk away. Sesshomaru could smell she was telling the truth.

 

“Wait Kagome, there is a slim possibility that this Sesshomaru was wrong in his assumptions of your behavior with the wolf prince” Sesshomaru said.

 

“Is the great Lord Sesshomaru admitting the possibility of being wrong?” She asked. She was very suspicious of his change of behavior.

 

“I have no reason to always be right; although it is rare for me to be wrong. Something about you onna makes me act this way” He replied.

 

Kagome was very happy to hear that, but she also felt something tug at her heart.

 

“Is there something wrong?” Sesshomaru questioned.

 

“No, of course not,” Kagome lied. She didn't want to hurt him, even if he was Sesshomaru.

 

“This Sesshomaru can tell that you are lying” Sesshomaru was growing angry. Did she honestly try and read between the lines of what he had said.

 

“It's nothing, there's nothing you can do about it.” She said quickly, he smelt no lies so he let it go.

 

“Would you care to join this Sesshomaru this evening in his private sleeping quarters?” He asked.

 

“Um, I think I'll have to pass. Last night Rin didn't sleep well. She's going to sleep with me tonight.” Kagome said, she was glad to have an excuse to stay away. But she noticed Sesshomaru looked away

 

“I guess for a little while, just to talk” She gave a fake smile but he didn't buy it.

 

`This Sesshomaru wonder why she is so resistant to joining this Sesshomaru'.

 

Sesshomaru went off to patrol his land early. Kagome went to her room.

 

“Aren't you supposed to be teaching Rin right now?” Kanna asked, coming into the room. Kagome looked at the short girl in annoyance.

 

“Kagura is doing it today; Lord Sesshomaru invited me into his room tonight.” Kagome said.

 

“Are you nervous?” Kanna asked.

 

“Well I mean, Sesshomaru is a great guy, I doubt he wants anything but to take. I also know he'd never to hurt me like Inuyasha did, but he'll never want me either” She whimpered.

 

“Do you trust Sesshomaru?” Kanna asked.

 

“I do,” She replied.

 

“Then do not worry about anything,” Kanna insisted.

 

During their conversation

 

“Lord Sesshomaru, you called?” Kagura asked.

 

“Could you fetch Kagome from her room?” He asked.

 

“Of course Sir,” She answered.

 

“Mistress Kagome, Lord Sesshomaru wants you to meet him in his room.” She announced.

 

Kagome spent a few seconds freshening up and went to Sesshomaru's room. His huge double doors swung open before she could even push it. He was sitting on his bed, a huge canopy style bed that looked warm and inviting. Kagome wandered in a little bit to the couch area, his room was the size of a studio apartment.

 

“Hello Lord Sesshomaru,” She said.

 

He stood and Kagome went over to him. He pulled her close to him.

 

“You smell nice,” He whispered in her ear. She blushed at that and turned away. She heard him growl beside her so she turned, and both of their lips crashed on each other.
