InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Kagome's Trip ❯ The Broken Chandelier ( Chapter 3 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

As Kagome slept she thought of home. “Already?” she asked herself in her head, “I just got here.” But before Kagome knew it, a Servant was in the doorway reminding Kagome that dinner was being served. Kagome lifted her head and jumped out of the bed. She quickly ran to the mirror to check her appearance. Her hair was flying out in every direction from her head. “Oh, no!” Kagome screamed, “Aunt is not going to like this!” She rapidly opened a drawer and pulled out a small brush she brought with her. Kagome then combed her hair carefully, not to rip out all her hair. Kagome ran to the doorway, “Do you know where the dining room is?” she asked politely. The servant nodded and led her to a big room with a humungous table in the center. Candles were lit and steaming, hot food was spread across the table. Kagome could feel her mouth water, but covered her mouth with one hand to keep from drooling. “Sit down.” Her Aunt ordered. Her Aunt and uncle didn't have any children, so they felt lonely most of the time. Kagome took an empty seat at the very end of the table. “So, how did you get so rich?” She asked, “I remember you guys being so poor.” Her uncle closed his eyes, “Yes. We were very poor. One day we just went outside and a young man gave us a check for $1,00,000,0000,00000.” Kagome squinted, “That's weird. Why would he do that?” Her uncle shrugged and helped himself to some of the food. Kagome helped herself to some food to. She hasn't eaten since the night before so she kept piling food on her plate and took at least two of everything. But still, she wondered about when she would see InuYasha and her family again. Kagome stared into space while she fed herself. She couldn't see what she was feeding herself though. She felt lonely herself, not to mention. She didn't have any friends around their area. This big house is going to be paradise! She told herself. She patted her stomach after she ate and left the table. Then again she got into her room and stared cuddled up with one of the pillows. As she stared up, she noticed that the chandelier was swinging back and forth. Kagome perked up and jumped out of her bed. She heard a cracking noise and began to worry. The chandelier was going to break! Kagome fixed herself into the wall as the chandelier zoomed past her and headed for the ground. She didn't move at all and let it hit the ground. Then a loud smashing sound blocked half the house from any other noise. It was over. The chandelier had already broken into pieces all over the floor. They are never going to invite her over again! “What was that?” her aunt called. Kagome could hear her aunt coming towards her room. Kagome quickly thought of an idea and stuffed the broken chandelier under her bed. Her aunt flew in the door just as Kagome was finished. Kagome put on a fake smile to try and make her aunt think that nothing was wrong. Her aunt glanced around the room, but luckily she didn't look at the roof. As her aunt slammed the door shut and left, Kagome gave out a sigh and wiped the sweat from her forehead. But how is she going to fix the chandelier or tell her aunt and uncle about it? “I got to find a way!” Kagome thought.
