Kagome where are you
Chapter 53
Authors' note: this chapter will refer to my story: A shard in

From chapter 52 . . .
Sesshomaru sits up. "An Unofficial wedding between a man and his
geisha mistress happen all the time, my dear. Many of those
weddings are bigger and more costly than a traditional wedding."
"And you were planning something like that?"
"Of course. I had thought, though, that you would have wanted to
wait until we returned before doing it. So, I saw no real need to
bring it up, just yet."
Kagome's mouth hangs open.
"Of course, since this is just between us." Sesshomaru slowly
says as he looks into Kagome's eyes, "If you want to get married,
tomorrow. I have no objection."
Kagome closes her mouth. She opens it, again.
Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow. "Well?" he purrs.
Kagome takes a deep breath and sighs. "Ok. I see why you didn't
say a thing." She purses her lips.
‘And, my mother would appreciate it, if she was there, I'm sure .
. . ' she thinks as she nods.
She nods. "Very well, my consort, I can wait." She smiles, "I do
want a nice wedding."
Sesshomaru nods.
Kagome cocks her head. "Still . . . something."
"Something?"
"I'd like something . . . between us." Kagome mummers. "Like
engagement rings are something?"
"Do you want to trade rings? I'm sure that those humans named
Howell's have some gold. And making a couple of rings shouldn't
be that hard." He remarks.
Kagome slowly shakes her head. "Gold rings are nice, but, just
seem wrong. They're impersonal, ordinary and what we have between
us is special." She reaches out and rubs Sesshomaru's cheek. Her
hand brushes back some of his hair.
She stops and twists her hand, gripping his hair. Her other hand
reaches up and grabs her hair.
"Love?" He asks as he brings up his hand to cover hers.
"Do you know of any spell that would strengthen hair and make it
harder to cut?"
"Hmmm . . . What are you thinking about, my dear?"
"A ring, maybe a bracelet or a necklace made out our hair woven
together. Two rings."
"Hmmm . . . metal core, or just hair?"
"Just hair." She replies.
He nods. "Yes." He smiles. "Yes, I know a spell that would make
it harder to cut the hair. There are times during warfare that
you want to make ropes harder to cut and ropes can be made out of
hair. And, yes, I think that is a good idea."
Kagome nods and smiles. "A bracelet is what I'm thinking about.
It's bigger than a ring and our love, I think, needs something
bigger than a ring."
Sesshomaru smiles, bends over and kisses her. "Yes. And, the
bracelet can be woven anew, adding in Inu-yasha's hair if
necessary."
Kagome blinks. "I hadn't thought about that." She smiles. "Yes.
Even better."
"Let's make it."
_____________________________________________________
Kagome, her eyes still closed, frowns as she awakens. ‘Where's
Sesshomaru?' she thinks as she opens her eyes. ‘We were outside
the cave when we went to sleep last night. He was in his true
form and I went to sleep in his fur.'
She is laying in the clearing next to the cave. Wrapped around
her is her robe. She sits up, "Sesshomaru?" she whispers.
She rubs her right wrist. On it is a bracelet woven out her black
hair and Sesshomaru's white hair. The bracelet is very tight
about her wrist. The spell that makes it harder to cut, also
tightened it around her wrist, making it impossible to remove.
Off in the distance she can hear the sounds of a flute. She
frowns as she thinks, ‘my mystic senses are telling me that he's
in the direction. I wonder who is playing that flute?'
She puts on her robe, which changes into her school uniform, and
walks in the direction that Sesshomaru is at.
‘Whoever is playing that flute is good.' She thinks, ‘Mary Ann
perhaps? But why would Sesshomaru be with her.' She frowns. ‘I
know that I do occasionally feel jealousy, as well, could he be
flirting with her, as a way to help me confront my feelings?'
After a short walk, she stops. In the middle of a small clearing
is Sesshomaru. He is playing a flute. He is alone.
Her eye's are drawn to his wrist. On his right wrist is a
bracelet. It matches hers. She rubs her wrist again, as she
smiles.
Kagome just stands there listening. ‘Yes. I've heard bits and
pieces of this song, but never the entire song.'
Her smile widens, ‘since we travel all the time, we are always
visiting inns and borrowing rooms. And sometimes, other people
would be entertaining, and we could hear them.'
Sesshomaru stops playing.
Kagome begins to clap. "That was great! I never knew you could
play a flute!" she cries happily.
Sesshomaru spins around. Kagome's presence is obviously a
surprise. He glances at the sun. He growls and places the flute
in his robes.
"Don't hide it!" Kagome cries as she quickly runs to him and hugs
him. "That was very nice, Sesshomaru."
He hugs her back. "Not really, Kagome. A freshly made bamboo
flute and I have not practiced in decades."
She looks at him, "When did you learn?"
"Oh, it was part of my schooling."
"Really? Band and music is part of my schooling." Kagome
grimaces, "it's just not something that I'm good at. Even though,
I have a nice voice."
She shakes her head, "I just never could, comfortably, read
music. So, I'd get about a third of the way through a song and
then, I'd start to mess it up."
"Read music?"
Kagome nods. "Yes, someone, I don't now who, came up with a
language for musically notes. So, you could write down the notes
and play and teach them."
He nods. "Interesting. For me it was listen to my teacher, and
follow along."
Kagome pauses, "I wouldn't have thought that your father or
mother would have cared about you learning music?" she asks in a
delicate tone.
He nods. "It was part of my early schooling. Music is one of the
basic subjects. The flute was about my best instrument." He
sighs. "And yes, as I grew up, my father and mother did change my
training, and subjects like music, painting, and poetry was
lessened."
"Dropped you mean."
He shakes his head, "no. not really, as lord of the western
lands, I must have some appreciation for good music, good
painting, poetry and other arts."
"Really?"
He nods. "Of course, one of the ways to judge how a lord is, is
by the artists he supports. The better quality the art, the
better the lord. And, the more the lord knows about music and art
the better he can judge how good an artist is."
Kagome nods as she remembers her history, ‘yes. I'd forgotten,
while samurai lords were measured by how powerful they were, they
were also judged on their appreciation of good music, art, and
poetry.'
"Sesshomaru, Why did you make a flute now?"
Sesshomaru pauses. He looks at her. He pulls out the flute and
looks at it. He looks back at Kagome. He is undecided about
something. He puts the flute in his robe.
"Sesshomaru?"
He nods. He's made his mind. "Two reasons, my love. First, I did
not like the music yesterday."
She interrupts with, "And you wanted to hear something that you
liked."
He nods.
He looks around and walks to tree, holding Kagome's hand and
dragging her with him. "Sesshomaru?" Kagome quietly asks, but
allows him to bring her along.
He sits down, leaning at the tree trunk. He places Kagome in his
lap. His tail curls around them.
As soon as they get settled, he pulls her hair off her ear and
kisses it. "And the other reason, my love, is you."
Kagome twists around, looking in his eyes. "What?"
"You are full of life, joy, happiness." Sesshomaru slowly says,
trying to speak clearly. "Watching you, being with you . . . "
He sighs, "before, my thoughts, when I wasn't bored near unto
death, were full of death and destruction. As you have entered
my life, I'm finding my thoughts becoming lighter."
He stops there . . .
because Kagome is kissing him . . .
Once she breaks the kiss, he finishes, "I wanted to play the
flute while thinking about you." He whispers.
Kagome reaches into his robe and grabs the bamboo flute. She
places it in his hand. "Play for me, my consort."
"And you?" He asks.
"I think I'll stay here, sitting on your lap and listen." Her
mouth twitches, "and maybe, I'll sing along."
Sesshomaru brings the flute to his lips and begins to make music.
Kagome burrows into him, listening to him. After a couple of
minutes, her feet begin to twitch in tune with his music.
A couple of minutes later, Kagome, with a whispered apology,
stands up and she begins to dance. As she dances, she begins to
sing. She begins to sing a love song that she likes, trying to
make it fit into the notes of Sesshomaru's flute.
Her dance is nothing planned, and it's nothing really erotic
either, just a young woman having fun listening to her lover make
music.
Timeless pause . . . as Sesshomaru plays and Kagome dances.
When Sesshomaru finishes, (it is time for her daily lessons to
start,) Kagome collapses onto him, kissing him.
He kisses her back and hugs her tight.
"Sesshomaru?"
"Yes."
"There are many different ways to make love, isn't there."
"Yes . . . there is." He whispers. ‘Who would have thought? I
only made that flute on a lark. All I was planning was blowing a
few notes and then ignoring it, but, now . . . ' he thinks.
They kiss. A long, deep and a heartfelt kiss.
"Your lessons are waiting." He whispers when they finally break
the kiss.
"Spoilsport." She growls. She sighs, but stands up. "Ok. I'm
ready."
Sesshomaru stands up, placing the flute in his robe.
In very small voice, Kagome asks, "love?"
"Yes, Lover?"
Kagome takes a deep breath, and swallows, she is obviously trying
to come up with some sort of a delicate question.
He raises an eyebrow, as he waits for it.
"When your teachers were showing you the flute, did they also
teach you to paint?"
He pauses. His mouth twitches. "Of course they did."
He pauses. "You did have an adventure in Kyoto, didn't you." He
states.
Kagome nods. "And while I was there . . . " Kagome's voice
trails off.
"You meet a painter named Sesshu." He states.
Kagome nods.
Sesshomaru mouths twitches, as he says in wonderment, "And he's
that good. Amazing." He shakes his head. "You are trying to ask
if he's I."
Kagome blushes. "I'm sorry . . . it's just . . . " her voice
trails off again.
Sesshomaru sighs. "He's not I." He nods. "I do suppose you need
an explanation."
"Please?" Kagome begs.
"As we practice, I will tell you the story."
Later, as they are practicing . . .
"Sesshu was a painter in one of the provinces of my lands."
Sesshomaru begins to explain. "He came to me about two of your
decades ago. The government in Kyoto, earlier, had offended me."
Kagome nods. "Yes, I heard about that. You destroyed a third of
the city."
In cold dead voice, Sesshomaru states, "If the shogun is going to
name a human with the title assistant Lord of the Western lands,
he needs to know that is not a good idea."
Kagome nods.
"He, Sesshu, came to me with a scheme. The scheme was that he
would appear in Kyoto, under that name." A pause. "It's not his
birth name, which, truthfully, since he is human, I never really
bothered to learn." He says in a low undertone.
"He would pretend to myself, pretending to be a human."
Sesshomaru pauses. "It is, I suppose, reasonable to assume that
if this Sesshomaru would want to visit Kyoto to keep an eye and
ear on the government. And If I did that, This Sesshomaru would,
reasonably, pretend to be a human while in a human city."
"Don't you need some eyes and ears in the city, anyway?"
Sesshomaru shrugs. "Not really. The human rules and laws only
apply to my lands when I wish. And, there are many humans that
are more than willing to give me some warning about what the
government is doing. So, visiting the city, is not really
necessary."
"I see." Kagome whispers. "So, he shows up, with that name."
She nods her head. "No one is going to ask him all that many
questions, just in case he is the real Sesshomaru."
He nods. "Yes, because if he is me, than asking me stupid
questions means your death."
Kagome nods. "And since everyone is afraid or cautious about him,
he . . . "
"He prospered. As the years have passed, he found a dwarf to
pretend to be Jakken."
Kagome nods. "And a girl to be Rin."
Sesshomaru growls. "I didn't think that she was that well known."
Kagome shrugs and nods. "She was there."
He nods.
"His arm? He was missing it. That, and the girl, is what
convinced me that he was you." She whispers.
"He had it caught off, once he heard about my wounding. If he
didn't do that than no one would continue to believe him." He
pauses, "When I return, fully healed, I wonder what he'll do
then?"
Kagome purses her lips, "hmmm . . . I wonder myself." She
pauses. "What about his paintings?"
Sesshomaru replies, "he found some of my old paintings. I believe
my mother threw them away. And he used my style as a basis for
his. He is a good painter, even if he is using my style."
Kagome nods. "Thank you for telling me about him."
Sesshomaru shrugs. "He's not really important. Yes, every so
often he'll leave the city, and bring me all the gossip and such,
but, as I said, I receive the same or similar information from
other sources as well."
"Did he tell you what happened to us in Kyoto?" Kagome asks.
Sesshomaru shrugs. "He told me. But he didn't mention meeting you
in his report, so I'm not sure how much I will believe."
"I wonder why he didn't mention me?"
"He did. He just didn't mention that you and he had met."
"Weird."
Sesshomaru shrugs. "Humans. Perhaps he is beginning to believe
that he is myself, and as such, he doesn't need to say anything
about the meeting."
Kagome shakes her head. "So he said nothing about my mother's
paintings that he critiqued."
Sesshomaru nods, then he coughs. "This does bring something up,
my love."
"hmmm?"
"I've told you a fair amount about my family. What about yours?
We are together."
Kagome blushes as she looks at the ground. "Sorry. I've been
meaning to, but things keep coming up."
"We have time."
Kagome nods. She pauses as she puts her thoughts in order.
"My family maintains a Shinto shrine on my side of the well. The
center of that shrine is the God Tree that is next to Keade's
village."
Sesshomaru nods. "I am aware of it. He is a powerful tree deity.
The forest that bears my brother's name is actually his
possession." He pauses, "He is more active than many gods. The
village that the Miko Keade lives in, is his." He frowns. "He has
been very active lately."
Kagome nods, "my grandfather, on my mother's side, is the oldest
male in the family. He normally runs the small souvenir and
pilgrim shop."
"Pilgrims . . . he stamps the scrolls for pilgrims, with the
shrines seal, to prove that they've actually visited the shrine."
He says in a dry voice.
"That, and more. The souvenir shop sells small trinkets, which
basically serves the same purposes as the traditional scroll
stamp."
Sesshomaru nods.
Kagome continues, "My mother is an artist. She is one of the best
calligraphers there is. And she is a very good landscape artist."
Sesshomaru nods. "It's not that unusual for a female to become an
artist. I've seen some female paintings that are acceptable."
Kagome growls at him. "My mother is better than that."
"Defensive aren't we?" Sesshomaru grins.
Kagome growls, loudly.
"I'm sure that your mother is a superior calligrapher and
artist."
"Better." Kagome growls. She smiles, "I have a little brother,
who is perhaps Rin's age."
Sesshomaru nods. ‘hmmm. A possible match for her. Joining Rin to
her family would be nice. Although the well and the time
traveling could cause problems, but, problems are made to be
overcome.' He thinks.
"So, your family is a priestly family and your mother is a well-
known artist?"
"Yes."
‘Acceptable, especially for an unofficial relationship, such as
ours.' He thinks, as he nods.
"I believe you mentioned that your father left your family?" he
asks.
Kagome nods. "Yes. A couple of months before my little brother
was born. He just vanished in the middle of the night." She
shrugs. "From what I've learned about him that was probably the
best thing he could have done for the family."
Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow, "Not a good husband."
She nods. "From listening to the neighbors and such, I get the
impression that he was a gambler and a drunk." She shrugs. "There
are rumors that he ran up a big debt and that the local
criminals killed him and hid the body."
"No other family?"
Kagome shrugs. "There are a couple of aunts and uncles that live
in Kyoto. But, I only see them, perhaps once or twice a year, or
so."
"Higurashi . . . " Sesshomaru nods. "Yes, there is a Higurashi
shrine in Kyoto."
"Yes, I'm descended from it." She pauses, "but, do not ask me for
details, ok. There was a fire about one hundred and fifty years
ago and some of the families histories were lost in it."
"That happens."
"So, when we return there should be no problems with our
relationship." Sesshomaru says.
"Welllll," Kagome begins, "maybe."
"I am the lord of the western lands," Sesshomaru's eyebrows
twitch, "That fact that I wish you to be at my side should cause
any and all objections to cease."
Kagome shrugs. "Maybe, but, expect some problems." She quickly
says, "not like your family, but some."
Sesshomaru growls, "what sort of problems?"
"My grandfather is always objecting to Inu-yasha and places spell
scrolls on and around him." Her mouth twitches, "they don't have
any power, but . . . "
Sesshomaru nods. "Has he given a reason? My brother might only be
a half-demon, but any human family should be proud to join with
mine."
Kagome shakes her head. "Not that I know of. I have thought about
asking, but." She shrugs. "It's never been important."
Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow to that, but asks, "Any other
problems?"
Kagome looks down at the ground, "My mother is sure, absolutely
sure, that Inu-yasha and I will marry and live happily ever
after."
Sesshomaru purses his lips, "you're sure about that?"
Kagome nods, still not looking at him. "Yes. It's the reason that
she is willing to let me go through the well. As far as she's
concerned, I'm part of some feudal fairy tale. And since fairy
tales end with the prince and princess marrying and living
happily ever after . . . "
"She thinks it's you and Inu-yasha."
Kagome glumly nods.
"I am a prince, as well." Sesshomaru smiles. "And with an even
better bloodline than him."
Kagome looks up and twitches her lips, as she thinks, ‘yes, he
would think that.'
"So, your mother can't object. And, I have no problem with you
and Inu-yasha marrying, like she wishes you to do."
Kagome nods, "And then there's my brother."
"His objection would be?"
"Inu-yasha is his hero. He almost worships the ground Inu-yasha
walks on."
‘I almost said, a poor choice of a hero, but that would offend
her.' Sesshomaru thinks.
"Once he sees this Sesshomaru, he will learn a new hero."
Sesshomaru says.
Kagome shrugs. "I won't be so sure. My brother's stubborn streak
is almost as bad as mine."
"Stubborn indeed." Sesshomaru grins at her. "Still, all of those
problems are minor and can be overcome."
Kagome nods.
A pause . . .
"What about the wolf?" Sesshomaru asks.
Kagome shrugs. "I like him, but that's it."
"His scent has been heavy around you."
She nods. "Inu-yasha and him fight over me." She shrugs. "And,
yes, I do like him. He's tall, thin, athletic and with long hair,
which I like. But . . . anything more than like is on his side
only."
Sesshomaru nods. ‘Good. He might be the prince of his tribe, but,
a fight will teach him manners and he'll cower before me.' He
thinks.
Kagome sighs, ‘I like Kouga, but, every so often, I get reminded
of how we meet. He and his wolves were killing and eating
everyone in a village. And, the couple of times that I've spent
with his tribe . . . I've seen the human bones. And I've tried
to make sure that I've never eaten any meat around him.'
Kagome glances at Sesshomaru, ‘not that he's a cannibal. Kouga
isn't a human, but, still . . . '
"There is also a man on my side of the well, Sesshomaru." Kagome
begins. "His name is Hojo, but."
She holds up her hands, warding off his obvious questions. "I'll
bite the bullet and break off with him." She sighs, "I've almost
done a few times before, so, this time, I'll really do it."
"Hojo? Related to the warlord Hojo?"
Kagome nods. "Distantly, Sesshomaru. The part of the family he's
descended form is not, compared to what you're thinking, powerful
or rich. Although, to the girls I go to school with, he is
considered a prime catch, if you're looking for a husband."
Sesshomaru nods. "Like you mentioned earlier, yes, there are some
problems, but nothing like the problems we'll face with my
family."
Kagome nods.
The rest of their morning practice is uneventful . . .
*******************************
At lunch, though . . .
"Gilligan?" Kagome asks.
"Yes?"
"I was wondering, if you could help me?" she asks, "there are
some ceremonies I wish to try, and I need someone's help doing
them."
"Of course." He replies.
"Good. Meet me by the cave right after lunch!" Kagome cries as
Sesshomaru starts to drag her away.
He growls, "what are you doing?"
"I'm going to try and do a ceremony to control, perhaps, his bad
luck. Or do you want to wear more food?" she asks.
Sesshomaru nods. "Very well. See what you can do. But, my guess
is you're not going to be lucky."
"Hmmm." Kagome's eyes narrow. "What to bet? If I succeed and you
don't get food splashed on you?"
He purses his lips, "IF you succeed. Then. Hmmm." He nods. "Then
you may, in private, for one night, call me ‘toto'."
Kagome smiles, "and if I fail? You want me to be ‘Dorothy'
again?"
He nods.
Kagome purses her lips, ‘Now . . . which is better? I'll have to
think about that.' She thinks. ‘Yes, I have thought about
treating him like that, so . . . '
Later . . .
"Ok, Gilligan, you can clean up, now." Kagome hides a smile, "I'm
finished."
"Thanks! Did I help?" Gilligan asks.
Kagome bows, "yes. You've been perfect, Gilligan."
Kagome mentally sighs, ‘His bad luck and my good luck combined to
changed what I wanted to do. I didn't solve anything, but, I
didn't mess up anything either. And. The combination of our two
lucks . . . caused things to go a little nuts and a little goofy
. . . ' she thinks, suppressing a giggle.
Gilligan walks away . . .
He is only wearing his pants and hat. He is dusted with salt.
Kagome has written various symbols on his chest and back. He
looks like someone has played a very badly drawn game of tic-tac-
toe across his body.
Sesshomaru, whose face has been absolutely still during Kagome's
‘ceremony', covers his face with one hand.
Kagome, a secretive smile on her face, whispers, "You had better
be laughing. I'm sure that it didn't work, but, I, at least,
found a way to get him, without killing him."
Sesshomaru begins to laugh out loud.
Kagome begins to giggle.
"Tonight." Sesshomaru gasps as he tries to controls his laughter.
"Tonight . . . I'm ‘toto.'"
"But . . . It didn't work." Kagome replies in surprise.
"A reward for making me laugh."
That afternoon at the professor's hut . . .
"Those were some interesting symbols that you wrote on Gilligan,
today, Higurashi." the Professor remarks in a light tone.
Kagome blushes. "Things got out of control . . . " She coughs.
"I'll apologize to him at dinner."
The professor shakes his head, "no need. We've all seen the food
episodes and we understand."
"But, Gilligan . . . I need to." She starts to say.
"He's proud of ‘helping' you, Higurashi. Explaining what happened
would only upset him."
"Ok. If you say so." Kagome slowly says. She pauses, then
brightens. "Professor. I do have a camera with me."
He nods. "I saw it that first night."
Kagome nods. Sesshomaru growls, softly.
Kagome shushes him and says, "If I show you how to use it, could
you, please, take some pictures of Sesshomaru and me?"
She smiles. ‘I've snuck a couple of pictures of him, during this
trip, but I want some pictures of us. And he is the first person
we've met that we've gotten to know well enough for me to ask for
that favor.'
The professor nods. "Of course. Later, after the lessons?" he
asks.
Kagome nods.
"Pictures?" Sesshomaru whispers in her ear.
"Yes, portraits of us, standing together. Say about half-a-dozen
exposures of us in various poses and you in both shapes." She
replies. "Including one with me on your neck, with you in your
natural form."
Sesshomaru slowly nods. "Since the camera and the pictures you've
been taking is important to you, very well."
**************************************
The next day, at the cave, after lunch . . .
As they are beginning to head to the Professor's hut for the
afternoon study, Kagome sighs deeply as she picks up her books.
"Love?" Sesshomaru asks. He pauses, then asks, "Is anything
wrong?"
Kagome sighs again. "I don't know, love." She pauses, "it's just
. . . " she slumps.
Sesshomaru goes to her and enfolds her in his arms, hugging her.
"Something is wrong." He states.
"Not really." Kagome replies. "It's just . . . "
"What, my dear?" he asks.
"Well . . . " Kagome shakes her head. "I'll start at the
beginning, so you'll understand."
Sesshomaru nods. His head rubs her head. "Do you wish to sit
down, while you talk?"
Kagome sighs, but nods.
They sit down against the wall of the cave, with Kagome laying on
top of Sesshomaru, his tail wrapped around them.
"What is the problem?" he asks.
"It's school, Sesshomaru." Kagome replies, forcefully. "When this
first started, I thought that my adventures would only take a few
weeks, or at most a few months. So, I made sure that studied
hard, trying not to keep up my grades."
He nods. His hands finding her hand and he grips them. "Go on."
She sighs, "then . . . as time passed, my grades keep getting
worse and worse. And my attendance." She shakes her head. "My
grandfather and my mother have to deal with the school and my
teachers, a lot."
"But . . . but, school was the excuse I needed to have to get
any breaks from Inu-yasha and his obsession with the jewel, so I
keep using it." She whispers.
She clears her thought and squeezes his hand. "And, now . . .
everything lately is pushing me to toward living in the past.
Keade wanting me to get more involved with the village, obviously
so I can become the Miko of the village after she dies. My deeper
and deeper commitment to my friends. How can I ever leave
Shippo?"
She turns and kisses Sesshomaru on the cheek. "And you." She
blushes. "All of that . . . means that I will not be living in
the future."
He nods. "And you are wondering if you should still learn?"
Kagome nods. "If I'm going to live in the past, I don't need to
know a lot of the stuff that is in those books." She waves to her
school books.
Sesshomaru looks at the books and he nods. "Kagome, my love, if I
thought that the knowledge in those books was useless, would I be
studying them with you?"
Kagome blinks and she slowly says, "No. You'd never waste that
much time."
"Good. My dear, over my years I've come to realize that knowledge
is good. People may abuse it or ignore it. However, they wish,
but, knowledge is good."
He points to the books, "I do understand that much of the
information in those books will not be used on a daily basis,
but, sooner or later, that knowledge will be useful."
"So, you want me to study? Even though it'll take up a lot time?"
Kagome asks, "Back home, I still have years before I get out of
school."
Sesshomaru nods. "Yes. More you know, the better."
Kagome nods and snuggles up against him. She turns and kisses him
on the lips. "Thank you."
He whispers, when they break for air, "tonight, we'll see how
much you've learned by love making."
Kagome purrs. "Why not now?"
Sesshomaru glances at the cave entrance. "I suppose being a few
minutes late wouldn't hurt . . . "
later . . . at the professor's hut . . .
"I am sorry for the delay." Kagome apologizes as she and
Sesshomaru enter.
"Something came up." Sesshomaru remarks in an offhand manner as
they sit down next to the desk in the professor's hut.
The professor sniffs, ‘yes, something came up, indeed . . . '
Later . . . after Kagome and Sesshomaru leave the hut.
Kagome drags Sesshomaru into the forest.
"Yes, my love?" Sesshomaru asks.
Kagome sighs, "Sesshomaru, I've tried to flirt with him, like you
asked, but." She slumps. "I just feel." She shivers. "It just
feels wrong."
Sesshomaru hugs her. "I know. I can tell. Your words, even your
body language were saying one thing and your scent was saying
another."
"I like him. The professor, I mean. He's smart, and I like that,
but." Kagome begins to say as she buries her head in Sesshomaru's
chest. "But. It just feels wrong. I'm just not the type of girl
that flirts with every man she sees."
Sesshomaru sighs, "then. Don't try to be someone that you're not.
And, I'll try to control my jealousy in different ways."
"Ok . . . " Kagome kisses him. "Thank you. I know that working
together we can solve that problem."
Sesshomaru smiles. "Yes. I'm sure of it."

That evening, at dinner, with the castaways . . .
Ginger, as she has been doing, is almost not wearing a dress
again as she continues to try to seduce Sesshomaru
Ginger, using the excuse, of ‘I've dropped my spoon and need to
clean it,' gets up from the table. On her way to the kitchen,
she, by accident, of course, trips and lands in Sesshomaru's lap.
This, of course, causes more food to be spilled on him.
And she begins to bubble about "my fault. I'll clean you up." As
she does that, her hands begin to feel him up.
Sesshomaru snarls. ‘I've had enough.' He thinks.
He picks her by her neck and throws her away from him. In an ice
cold voice he declares, "you are human. I don't mate with
humans."
His eyes flick up and down her body, her breasts popped out of
the dress when she landed. "Your facial features are ugly. Your
hair is the wrong color."
"Sesshomaru!" Kagome tries to interrupt, but he ignores her.
"Your natural stench is only exceeded by the stench of the
perfume you are wearing." He finishes in that same freezing
voice.
"She's human!" Ginger yells back!
"My consort is unique. Her heritage may be human, but that does
not mean that I've changed my basic thoughts about humans. Which
is: the only good human is a dead human."
"Sesshomaru!" Kagome steps in front of him, trying to control
things.
"Kagome." Sesshomaru looks at her. "I will retire to our cave."
He flies off.
Kagome spends the rest of the meal apologizing for him.
Later, At the cave . . .
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome asks in a small voice when she enters.
"My apologizes." Sesshomaru nods his head toward her. "I did not
consider that you'd be embarrassed when I lost my temper."
Kagome grimaces. "Thank you, lord of the western lands." She
pauses. "I think that the castaways would like something like
that from you."
He pauses, thinking. "You may, if you wish, apologize for me.
But, I will not say that myself. She, in my opinion, deserved to
die and they need to apologize and thank this Sesshomaru for his
patience and mercy."
Kagome nods and sighs. "Thank you for that, my love."
****************************************
The last day . . .
Kagome calls all the castaways together. Sesshomaru is standing
next her. She bows to them.
They look at each other.
"I wish to thank you for the hospitality and kindness that you
have shown us during this week." Kagome smiles, "I know, even
with the occasional problem." Gilligan blushes, remembering all
the miscues he's had during this week.
"This is a week that I'll always remember." Kagome finishes.
"Thank you." The skipper says.
"Thank you, Skipper. Now, before we leave. There is something
that I want to do." Kagome says. "And, since, like I requested,
you're wearing your favorite clothes." She smiles, "I will help
you."
"How?" Mary Ann asks.
"Come here, Mary Ann." Kagome requests. "And I'll show you."
Mary Ann shrugs, but approaches Kagome.
Kagome reaches out and grabs Mary Ann's clothes. She closes her
eyes and concentrates.
Mary Ann feels something. Her hair stands on end. Something, like
a spark of electricity flashes through her. She blinks and looks
at her clothes. They look brand new, not the through worn.
"Kagome?" She whispers.
Kagome smiles, "I've fixed your clothes, Mary Ann. You'll never
need to clean them and they can even make minor repairs." Her
smile fades a bit, "You just don't have the mystic power to allow
them to do more."
"You mean that?" Mary Ann asks in surprise.
Kagome nods. "Yes." She points to her clothes as they change from
her school clothes to a white robe.
"You, none of you, have the magical power to allow them to change
like Sesshomaru and I do. But, as long as you wear them on a
regular basis, they'll clean themselves." Kagome explains. "The
can tap your natural life force and use a small part of that to
clean themselves."
"And your going to do that to everyone's clothes?" Ginger asks in
surprise.
"Well, not every piece of cloth, just what your wearing now."
Kagome replies. "But, yes, I will. This," She tapes Mary Ann's
clothes, "is a thank you for this week."
Kagome smiles as the castaways crowd around her, wanting her to
fix their clothes.
After she finishes, Kagome pulls out a piece of paper. "Gilligan,
would you please accept this."
Gilligan reaches out and grabs the paper. His hat flies off. His
clothes twist. His body twitches. "WWHHHHAAAATT!?" he moans.
He falls to the ground unconscious . . .
"Kagome!" everyone yells at her and crowd around her.
She waves them off as she explains, "The scroll I gave him
cancelled out his bad luck."
The castaways look at each other.
"He'll wake up in a little awhile." She looks hard at him. "And.
Maybe for a week, or two his bad luck will be small enough that
you might have some good luck the next time that someone visits."
"And get off this island?" Lovey Howell asks.
Kagome shrugs. "Maybe. I tried to seal his bad luck. I can see it
eating through the seal, so he'll recover soon, but, until then."
She shrugs again.
"I always knew he was bad luck." Ginger whispers to Mary Ann.
"Sure . . . " Mary Ann whispers back.
*************************************
At the cave . . .
Kagome and Sesshomaru are standing outside at the cave. It is
midafternoon.
They are dressed in their traditional clothes. Kagome is wearing
her sword. Sesshomaru is wearing his swords. Sling on his back is
their sleeping bag, which has been turned into a backpack. The
barrels of the submachine guns stick out of the sleeping bag.
"Are you sure that you don't want to carry those guns?"
Sesshomaru asks.
Kagome nods. "Yes. I can think of too many places were showing up
armed like that will cause problems. The swords are bad enough.
There is no need to add in guns."
Sesshomaru slowly nods, he grimaces, "we don't have a lot of
ammunition for them, as well."
"And with your speed, we can get them out and ready at a moment
notice."
He nods. "Are you ready?"
Kagome nods. "Yes. But."
She reaches out and hugs and kisses him. "Thank you for a
wonderful honeymoon." She whispers.
He hugs and kisses her. "My love, I need to thank you for a
wonderful time."
They break the hug. Kagome sighs, "As much as want to rip your
clothes off and make love, we do need to get going."
He nods. "And we will find our way home."
He pulls out the cube. He shakes his head. "It's just too bad
that Gilligan almost got this."
Kagome nods. "Yes, he changed the setting, so we have no idea
where we are going."
"Is that why you gave him that scroll?" Sesshomaru asks with a
chuckle in his voice.
Kagome blushes. "I'm not saying."
"Let's go."
Sesshomaru reaches out with the cube. Kagome touches it.
They vanish . . .

preview: the next world . . .
Kagome's first impression is trees . . .
They appeared with meters off a huge tree. It makes the god tree
back home seem small.
Kagome and Sesshomaru slowly back away, and look up. "It must be
hundreds of meters talk." Kagome whispers in an awed tone. "Like
the redwoods in California . . . beautiful . . . "
Sesshomaru, while his mate is entranced by the forest of huge
trees, turns around and looks for trouble.
He frowns. ‘That doesn't look right.' He thinks.
He taps Kagome on her shoulder and points. "Do you have any idea
what that is?"
Kagome turns around and stares . . .
"A death star . . . "
Hanging above them in the sky is a partially completed Death Star
. . .
"We're on Endor." Kagome whispers.

Chapter 54: Inu-yasha where are you part 3 Kikyo . . .
"Kikyo, you must help us find Kagome!"
"Why?"
________________________________________________
Authors' note; after Thursday apr 29, I will take a break from
Kagome! Where are you!?. I go into more detail about my future
schedule on Thurs.
Authors' note: Fanfiction net has altered how they handle e-mail
addresses. I normally try to email reviewers thanking them. But,
the alterations that fanfiction.net has made, will make that more
difficult and time consuming. I will still try to answer
reviewers. I am sorry, but, some reviewers may not get a ‘thank
you' note.
Authors' note: Hmmm . . . how to say this . . . Ok. First: I do
want to thank everyone that does review, but.
The last few chapters, I've noticed a drop in the number of
reviews. And I'm wondering . . . what have I done wrong?
Yes, I knew that once kag & sess mated. The sexual tension would
decrease. And Yes, I know that I've made this section probably
longer than it should. (However the conversations that happened
needed to happen, and if I spaced them out of several worlds that
would have made it even longer, as I would have had to introduce
and setup those worlds, so, I tried to do it in as few words as
possible . . . ) But, still . . . I wonder . . .
Authors' note: I've had reviewers ask about the future plans for
this story. "When will they return home?" "How many worlds are
left?" etc.
So, I've set up a separate web-page with a short outline for my
future plans on it.
Remove the spaces for the link.

Chapter 53
Authors' note: this chapter will refer to my story: A shard in
Kyoto, esp. ch 7 to understand part of this chapter.
In that chapter. Kagome meets a person named Sesshu . . .
______________________________________
*************************************
They vanish . . .
End chapter 53
**********************************
preview: the next world . .
