Part 1: The triangle


Kagome sighed as she packed the last of her things.

She was moving.
New House

Moving into her new room, Kagome boredly walked into the kitchen to fetch a small snack, at least until her stomach stops groaning.

The old lady that was staying with them squinted at Kagome rudely. “What kind of person are you?” She mumbled, “Are you a nice person?”

Kagome shrugged, “Well, I try to!”

“Is it you Karen? Oh, Karen! Is that really you?”

“Sorry, but who's Karen?”

Disappointed, Mrs. Ellwood (old lady) frowned. “Karen was my daughter. In fact, you almost look just like her. Well, my husband died, because he worked for the army. Since then, Karen has been my most favorite out of all in the world. Karen was very honest, so I decided to make her a present. But just when I was finishing the present, I went up to Karen's room to give it to her. But she was gone. Completely gone.”

“What happened to Karen?” Kagome asked.

Mrs. Ellwood went on, “The first thing that came to my mind was the chapel. The kids used to play with her in the chapel. So I ran yelling, “Karen!” but nothing answered. I ran into the chapel, but flames lit up my face. Lightning had struck the chapel. She was gone. She was about your age.”

Kagome's eyes slowly widened with fright. Suddenly, a hand was put on Kagome's shoulder. “AHHHH!” Kagome screamed, as she spun around, seeing it was her mother. “Oh mom,” Kagome breathed, “It's you! You scared…” “Put this mirror into the living room.” Her mother interrupted, “I don't want you to break it though.” Kagome nodded as a sign of, “I won't break it.”


By the time Kagome hauled the large mirror onto the wide shelf, she paused. No face stared back at her. Kagome stroke her hand down her check, and then felt the mirror.

A loud ringing noise broke out as
a triangle broke itself neatly in the middle of the reflective glass.

A 15 year old girl, with long raven black hair, and a blindfold tied tightly around her eyes, reached foreword, seemingly to walk. But she wasn't getting any closer to Kagome.

“Karen?” Kagome whispered. The girl froze and…
