Chapter 1: The Adventure Begins
This story starts in a small fox demon group. They are presently in some caves in the mountains. They all lead a pretty normal life. At least, as normal a life demons can lead. On this particular day, there are two fox demons hunting in the grass. The female’s name is Kitsa and the male’s name is Shippo. Kitsa has long red hair, yellow eyes, fox ears on top of her head, a fox tail, claws, and fangs. She is as tall as a human teenager, but she is a lot older. She usually wears a red kimono that is pretty close to being skin tight, but she doesn’t wear any shoes.
Now, on this particular day, Kitsa and Shippo accidentally wandered a little too far from the group. Suddenly, Kitsa noticed it was getting a little cloudy. “We should get back,” she said.
“How do we get back, though?” Shippo asked.
“I think it’s this way,” she said, turning around and heading back the way they came. After a while, they saw the caves. “See, there they are!” Suddenly, they heard a bang come from the caves and saw a fire start.
“Oh no! We have to get back!” Shippo yelled. They started running back.
“Stop!” Kitsa exclaimed, and grabbed Shippo. They hid behind a rock as two figures rose into the sky.
One of them proclaimed, “Let all the remaining fox demons know not to mess with the Thunder Brothers!”
“Look Kitsa!” Shippo said, and pointed at the fatter one’s waist. She saw a fox’s fur wrapped around his waist. She looked closer and saw it was Shippo’s father.
“Oh no,” she whispered. She looked over at Shippo and saw tears in his eyes.
Once they were out of sight, he shouted, “I’ll get you two! You just wait!” Kitsa could feel tears in her eyes too. Suddenly, she thought of something.
“Oh no! What about my parents?!” she jumped up and ran to her cave. There were her parents, laying on the floor of the cave. “NO!” she screamed, and fell to her knees crying. Shippo walked in and kneeled down next to her.
“Don’t worry. I’ll kill them,” he said, trying to comfort her.
“I’m coming with you,” she said, determined. Once Kitsa made up her mind, there was no changing it.
Shippo knew this, so he said, “Ok. We’ll go together. Come on. They couldn’t have gotten too far.” They both stood up and headed out of the cave.
“Wait,” Kitsa said. She went back into the cave and grabbed a necklace made of fox teeth. She put it around her neck and ran back out. “Ok. I’m ready now.” They started on the journey of their lives.
