“Aiko, don't stay in the snow too long!” Kagome called out to her firstborn daughter. The little girl obediently came out of the drifts and onto the engawa to join her mother.

“I wanna see, I wanna see.” She whined, jumping up and down towards the bundle in her mother's arms. Kagome smiled and knelt to allow the 3 year old to look at her new baby brother.

“He's so little.” She cooed to the bundle, which waved back at her.

“When will Muteki be old enough to play with me?” Aiko asked, tugging at her mother's sleeve.

“Not for a while.” Kagome responded patiently. “Besides, you can play with Rin's children.”

Aiko wrinkled her nose. “Sugimi only likes to play fighting. He doesn't like to play with my dolls.”

“But what about Gin?”

“Gin is in trouble for stealing Sugimi's clothing when he went to bathe.”

Kagome smiled. The memory of Sugimi running around naked trying to find his clothing had amused everyone in the castle except him. Sesshomaru had been hiding a smile even as he told Gin her punishment.

Kagome rose and held out her hand to take Aiko's little one and lead her into the castle.

“I suppose that means you'll have to get Otou to play with you. Let's go find him, ne?”

“Otou! Otou!” Aiko tugged on her mother's hand to make her go faster.

Kagome laughed. “Slower, Aiko-chan. We'll still get there.”

“Oi. Don't roughhouse with you mother, Aiko-chan.”

“Otou!” Aiko ran at him full speed and leapt into his arms. He caught her and swung her around, much to the squealing child's delight.

Kagome smiled when she walked up to him, still holding the napping Muteki. Inuyasha held Aiko with one arm and reached out to rub his mate's ear with his free hand.

“Should you and Muteki go take a nap?” he queried softly. “You look tired.”

Kagome smiled wearily. “Sure. That means you have to play with Aiko though.”

“I suppose I should then.” Inuyasha sighed, and swung his young daughter around again.

“So, what do you want to play, Aiko-chan?”

“Tag!” the little girl yelled gleefully.

“Okay, you're it.” Inuyasha yelled, just as gleefully. He proceed to jog slowly down the corridor, with Aiko in pursuit as fast as her little legs would carry her.

“Don't let her go outside. It's cold.” Kagome called after them.

“Hai.” Two obedient voices responded.

Kagome smiled and cradled her infant son.

“Ready for a nap, Muteki?”

The little boy stirred in her arms and frowned. Kagome giggled and stroked his little silver ears. He calmed almost immediately.

My family

End.

I must say that I got quite tired of this story about halfway through. It definitely gave me more grief than anything else. I didn't feel like writing anything, much less the ending to this story. It was supposed to be my trial at writing dark fiction, and I now know that I will probably never come back to this realm again.

I knew that the people who enjoyed this story deserved an ending, so I gave them one. That's also the main reason I'm keeping this story up. I hate it when authors take down stories to rework them, only to never put them back up. It is human to make mistakes, and I'm not going to try to disguise it. I'm leaving this up for the people who want to read it, but other than that I'm done with it and don't want to get more shit for it. So if you have an issue, please refrain from telling me, because I'm not fixing it and I'm annoyed enough at the response I've gotten. Just hit the little x at the top of the window instead of flaming me. Alright?

On the other hand, thank you to every person who left a good review or defended me from flaming losers. It's mostly due to you that I bothered to finish this. Much love and a big bear hug to every one of you.
