Chapter 26: Now and Forever

^^^

The kiss was full of pent up passion for the two. Sesshoumaru would growl low, penetrating deep into Kagome’s being. Every while, Sesshoumaru would slowly remove the many fabrics of the kimono, lightly caressing Kagome’s arms.

Moaning Kagome’s skin tingles when the air touches her bare skin. She wants to struggle, remove herself from the position Sesshoumaru has molded her to. But she couldn’t.

All along she felt alone, with Inuyasha and the group. Her friends at school. Never truly had she ever felt complete, until she met him. No longer is she alone, helpless, afraid of the world, she has found someone she can say she has no worries with.

Deepening the kiss, Kagome, now bare chest, holds Sesshoumaru closer to her, struggling for her now lifeline.

With the added pressure Kagome placed between them, Sesshoumaru begins to become more agressive. Passion and lust mix into his emotions, wanting nothing more than to feel himself inside the girl, Kagome.

Gripping her waist, Sesshoumaru’s growl becomes deeper, every movement causes him to want it more. Ripping away at the last lingering piece of cloth separating Sesshoumaru and Kagome from becoming complete with each other, they let it fall to the bottom of the spring.

Kagome winces in pain as Sesshoumaru adds pressure to his grips. Moving her face from the heated kiss, Kagome is about to tell him to stop but Sesshoumaru quickly continues the kiss.

Kagome begins to worry, her body shakes and she struggles to be free, but Sesshoumaru’s grip tightens.

“Sesshoumaru! Stop, your hurting me!” Whimpering lightly to him, Kagome’s voice manages to calm him down enough to realize her injuries.

Not speaking his apologies, he raises her injuries just above the water and nuzzles the pain until he again smells her arousal and takes the chance to roam her bodies curves.

Massaging her breasts in his open palms, he roughly licks her stomach up her chest and down her neck making sure to leave his scent all over her.

Kagome’s eyes glisten over, her body shivers with want. Her lower body increases distance the more Sesshoumaru’s hands gently caress her body. Moaning and whimpering, Kagome grabs hold of Sesshoumaru’s hair and brings him back to kiss.

Sesshoumaru again becomes more agressive the longer they stay together. His inner demon, so carefully controlled, peaks through, cautiously, so not to scare Kagome off. Gripping and grinding Sesshoumaru can’t take more contact before he loses full control of himself. His eyes begin to glow a deep shade of red.

Kagome is nervous, naked in a pool of water with the feared brother of her ex crush, arousal and betrayal swam through her head. Natural instincts want Kagome to commit to their love dance, give it all and feel release. Barely able to control her breathing, she pants and rubs against Sesshoumaru, pleading.

Feeling that Kagome has given him the permission to finalize their courtship, growling loudly, Sesshoumaru thrusts in his member, harder he pushes, feeling Kagome’s virgin blood flow below him.

Kagome screams, it hurt her, feeling like she was torn. Not once did Sesshoumaru slow his pace with her, faster he pumps his release, Kagome orgasms many times in the spring. Pain and lust fill her soul, warm water splashes the shores, shallow puddles line the rim of the spring.

With his final thrust, Sesshoumaru releases his seed, and bites down deep into Kagome’s visible fleshy neck. At hearing her scream, Sesshoumaru’s eyes clear slightly, but still remain red. Licking away the blood that flows freely down the side of her left breast, a final word is heard in his mind:

Mine

Kagome felt too tired, sweaty and out of breath. Closing her eyes for just a second of rest, her body betrays her to sleep.

Having released himself, Sesshoumaru begins to come back to his sane mind. Removing himself from her, Sesshoumaru cradles her in his arms and walks out of the water. Both still soaking, Sesshoumaru grabs a towel with his tail and quickly dry them both, all while Kagome sleeps peacefully.

The more Sesshoumaru thought of what just occurred, he began to feel angered. Not knowing why, he redresses himself after carefully laying Kagome on the floor, and wrapped the towel around her naked form.

Not wanting any questions as to the young girls condition, Sesshoumaru places Kagome in his bed.

He allows her to sleep the rest of the morning and into the afternoon, coming in to check on her every once in a while to see if she had awaken.

Kagome didn’t wake up until just before the sunset. Her body ached with each jerk of movement, hissing in the pain, Kagome tries to sit up but is coaxed back down by Sesshoumaru’s hands.

“You need to rest now.” Is all he says as he watches her legs twitch from pain under his blankets.

Kagome felt awful, her body hurt, she felt sad and disappointed with herself, and plus, she was afraid she did something wrong to upset the friendship she had worked hard to obtain. Guilt ridden, she turns her head from Sesshoumaru, who at the time, was watching her like a hawk. “I’m sorry.” So quietly Sesshoumaru thought it was the wind, his brows lowered, upset that she was upset.

“Why do you apologize? There is no reason for it.” Seeing as how she turned her head around to look at him once again, he continued. “Do you regret what happened?” Kagome blushed a deep red color, her eyes show obvious embarrassment. Not looking at him in the eye, she uneasily shakes her head no.

Satisfied for the time being, he nods his head in approval, “Get up, I am sure you are hungry.” He sets down one of her lighter blue kimonos at the foot of the bed, and helps her up. The towel slides a bit and Kagome hurriedly covers herself.

“Even after what we have been through you are still modest?” Kagome glares at him but permits the help. Grabbing his arm for support, Kagome stands on shaky feet, stumbling slightly before she regains her balance.

Helping her into the kimono, Kagome never keeps eye contact or speaks. Sesshoumaru will leave her to her thoughts, for the moment.

“We still need to find Kagura.” The silence now broken by Kagome, Sesshoumaru looks down at her, her cheeks a slight pink. She ties the obi and keeps her head down, not wanting to look at him.

Upset at her sudden lack of spirit, Sesshoumaru tilts her head, forcing her to look at him. “Why are you so upset with me?” With her head up, he can see the puncture wound of one of his fangs, healing slowly, but never leaving.

“It’s not you Sesshoumaru, I’m just confused.” Staring deep into her eyes, he releases her chin and nods an understanding.

“Come, dinner is ready.”

Dinner had gone by quickly, a small conversation between Rin and Kagome, Sesshoumaru listening quietly. Now that she was back to her own room, Kagome had time to ponder her thoughts. Taking out her backpack, she digs into a side pocket for a picture of her family. Everyone was there, Souta bouncing a soccer ball on his head, Mama laughing at him on the bench by the God tree, Grandpa stopped his sweeping to stare at his grandchild. All were perfectly happy.

A tear slid down her cheek, how she missed them. Falling to her bed, she continues to stare at the picture until a knock on the door interrupts her thoughts.

“Kagome, Rin wanted to know if Kagome was alright. Rin felt bad ‘cause Kagome didn’t smile big at dinner.” Rin was peaking in through the door cracked slightly open, her eyes were worried that she might have been interrupting something.

Motioning for her to come in, Rin slowly walks over to Kagome’s bed. “Don’t worry Rin, I’m alright.” Showing a big smile to prove her point.

Rin hugs her neck, glad that her Kagome was back. “Where was Kagome this morning? Sesshoumaru said Kagome was sleeping but Kagome wasn’t in her room.” Looking at her questioningly, Rin waits for an answer.

“I was in Sesshoumaru’s room and fell asleep accidentally. Sesshoumaru was nice enough to let me sleep.” Smiling with her answer, Rin looks over Kagome’s shoulder and sees the picture.

“Who is that Kagome?” Turning her head to see what she was talking about, Kagome grabs the picture and introduces Rin to her family.

Sesshoumaru was at the door, listening in on the girls conversation. He wasn’t sure why, but he felt something was bothering him, it left him wondering, never letting him think, ‘Why do I feel like this?’

Thinking about it for a while, Rin had finished her visit and left to her room. Waving goodnight to Sesshoumaru waiting by the door.

Now that Rin had left, Sesshoumaru thought it good to have his turn to talk with Kagome. “Kagome,” seeing him walk into her room, Kagome began to fidget and blush while looking down. “I believe that it would be best to look for Kagura while she is injured, the more time we take to look for her, the more time she has for escape.” Standing in front of her, Sesshoumaru gets agitate that she refuses to look him in the eye when she is being spoken to.

“You will look at me when I speak to you Miko.” About to yell at him for calling her that, he beats her to it. “That’s better.” Seeing as how she’s been tricked, Kagome looks at him angrily.

“I think it would be wise to begin our search in the morning, do you think you can manage?” Sitting beside her on her bed, Sesshoumaru waits patiently for an answer.

Taking a deep breath, “I think so, do you think she will be close to the spot where she landed or had she managed to recover some?”

“It depends on how hard she was struck.” Sesshoumaru looked down her collar, his mark still visible.

Kagome jumps slightly when Sesshoumaru began to rub his fingers tenderly over the torn flesh. “Do you know what this is Kagome?” Not looking at her straight in the eyes, half on her half on the mark.

Kagome gulps down air, the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end with each stroke. “No, what is it?”

Gently stroking the bumps he answers tenderly, “This is a demon mating mark,” Seeing as her eyes grow wide he smirks, “it binds you to me, showing all males that you have been taken. No man can ever have you. Do you understand?”

Before she can udder a word, Sesshoumaru kisses his mark, gets up, and leaves for bed.

(Should I stop here? ... Naw, I know were I’m going with this, I’ll continue.)

Sleep comes easy enough, Kagome just had to force herself not to think of the day.

Waking up to the sun in her eyes, Kagome yawns and stretches, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she takes a deep breath and prepares for the morning gamble. Changing into something that’s easy to travel in, loose fitting green hakamas and haoris with a white inner shirt; compliments of Sesshoumaru, she quickly brushes her hair and packs everything into her bag. Today’s the day she’s finally going to start the hunt to finish the jewel. After so long.

Carrying her bag, she walks out of her room, down the hall and to the doors leading to the dining room, where Sesshoumaru sits. Kagome is determined to finish what she started, nodding to Sesshoumaru, they leave, but not before Sesshoumaru forces her to eat an apple, “Nourishment” as he calls it.

Rolling her eyes, she felt like herself again.

Sesshoumaru had Jaken take care of Rin while they were gone, the little girl still asleep as they left silently out of the castle. Past the borders, and into the field where the fight took place. Kagome points to the direction she saw Kagura jettisons across the sky. Nodding, Sesshoumaru forms a cloud and flies into the direction pointed.

A serious silence between them, both watch the ground with hopes to find Kagura near by. Kagome grips harder on her bow, leaning even more over the cloud, a sweat dropping from her forehead down her chin.

Sesshoumaru watches Kagome, her hurried breathing proving her nervousness. Her beating heart pounding in his ears, he is not sure if it’s from looking for Kagura or the ride on his cloud. “You do not need to hover over the edge.” He states, watching when his voice breaks the silence and scares her into a jump.

Regaining her balance from the fright, Kagome rests her hand on her beating heart and takes a few deep breaths to calm her nerves. “I know, I’m just nervous is all.” Glancing behind her, Sesshoumaru stares at her unblinking.

Standing still while watching her closely, he sees that she narrows her eyes at him. “You know it wouldn’t hurt you to blink once in a while.” Humoring her he blinks, but keeps on staring. Knowing well he won’t do what he’s told she turns back and watches the ground.

A few minutes pass and still no sign of Kagura, ‘I couldn’t have launched her that far...’ Kagome thought. “Sesshoumaru, do you think she may have flown off somewhere else?”

Surveying the lands, Sesshoumaru doesn’t see where she could be with her injuries. “Assuming you didn’t hit her with your arrow, she may have had the energy left for flight. Even so, she would still be too weak to be able to stay in the air for too long a time.” Decending slowly, he waits until Kagome is off the cloud before he too gets off.

“Why did we land?” Kagome asks, stretching her legs from sitting on them to long. Turning to face him, she puts her bow over her shoulder.

“We have come close to the borders.” Looking towards the sky, “Do you sense the jewel shard anywhere, Kagome?” Turning back to her, he walks a few steps nearer.

Concentrating hard, she draws a blank. “No, nothing yet, I guess she had more energy then we thought she did.” Turning around to survey their surroundings, Kagome watches where the wind is blowing. “You think she may have flown with the wind to conserve energy? Like, glide instead of actually flying?”

“Again, possible, but we must think where it would be safest to travel if one is injured.” Walking in the direction of the blowing leaves, they search.

^^^

It has been a few hours since they landed, Kagome concentrating hard on searching for the jewel shard. Every time she pinpoints a location, her gut begins to tingle, and she loses focus. “It’s close Sesshoumaru, but I can’t tell where its coming from.” Nodding, he grabs her arm and lifts her into his and runs at a comfortable speed. Kagome was startled for a second until she realized that it would be a faster way to travel if she can sense it.

With every pull of the shard calling to her, her stomach aches. She keeps it to herself, not wanting to slow the search for her.

Minutes later, a huge pull tells Kagome the way, “That way! To the right!” Turning sharply in the direction he is pointed to, Sesshoumaru skids to a stop, just before the clearing of an abandoned shack.

Now that he is close enough, Sesshoumaru can smell Kagura’s sent. He growls low, lowering Kagome to her feet, and walking to the front door.

Kagome looks at him like he’s crazy, ‘What is he doing?! We should be going around to the back.’ Running to catch up with him, bow in hand, she looks up for an explanation. He doesn’t acknowledge her, but continues his speedy walk to the door.

Kagura can sense him walking closer to her sanctuary. She laughs at herself, her pitiful body still healing from the arrow. “It’s so hard... to heal around priestess energy.” ‘No worries Lord Sesshoumaru, I know you like to be greeted at the entrance.

“Sister, you should be resting.” Kanna says while slowly going over to her sisters side, coxing her to lie back down.

“Do not worry Kanna, I’ll be fine. I do not wish to fight with Lord Sesshoumaru.” Pushing her sister away, she struggles to rise. “Hand me my fan Kanna.” Said demon nods and does as she is told.

Grabbing the fan from the perch she placed it on, she walks over to her sister, handing over the fan. With a quiet ‘thank you’ Kagura places it into her sash, and leaves the sanctity of the shelter.

Breathing hard, Kagura holds herself high, holding in the pain every step causes. Reaching the door, she slides it open, her eyes narrow at the sun shining in.

Walking to the dirt ground, she does a bow, “Greetings once again Lord Sesshoumaru.” Her words falter to show her weary. She can see both Sesshoumaru and Kagome ready for an attack on her. Stepping back a step, she quickly voices her surrender.

(So sue me, I respect Kagura)

“Please, lower your weapons. As I’m sure you can see, I am in no condition to fight you both, I will admit it.” Seeing as how Kagome dropped her arrow to face the ground, she continues her talk. “I did not willingly attack your castle My Lord,” staring down at her fan in her sash, she pulls it out, “Lower your arrows miko, I do not wish to fight. It is these shards that attacked you, they possessed me into attacking you both.”

Seeing their unaltered faces, she gets annoyed, “Do not look at me like that! My original intention was to hand over the jewels to you as my last defiant act against Naraku.” Her out burst cost her much energy, getting light headed, Kagura quickly regains her balance.

Breathing hard, Kagura begins to sweat, her posture bent over slightly. “If you do not trust my word, then here.” Throwing her fan half between herself and Kagome, she looks at Kagome, willing her to trust her. “Without my fan, I am powerless, retrieve the shards, I have no use for those cursed gems. I only ask that you leave my fan in one piece.”

Turning her back to them both, Kagura walks over to the shack and sits on the porch step, leaning on the support beam.

Kagome looks to Sesshoumaru for any reason not to trust Kagura. Looking one second more, Kagome walks over to the discarded fan, looking eye-to-eye at Kagura watching her move. Kneeling to retrieve the shards, Kagome is hesitant.

Breathing once more, she grabs the fan. Nothing happened. Trusting her words, Kagome looks to where it is that Kagura injected the shards into. Turning it onto its side, the shards glow with the movement. Gripping one at a time, she dislodges them, and they purify with her touch.

With the second shard out of its hole, Kagome looks at Kagura, and walks over to her. At arms distance away, she stops, her eyes soften as she sees that she has fallen asleep leaning on the beam. Placing the fan on her lap, Kagome walks over to Sesshoumaru’s side.

“Ready?” She asks, her voice shaky.

“Are you?” He asks in return.

“No. But it doesn’t matter.” Pulling out the jewel piece hidden in her shirt, she has the nearly whole piece in her left hand, and the shards in her right.

Holding them tightly in a prayer position, she tries again to complete her mission.Wind picks up, swirling around her body, pink energy leaves Kagome, rushing to fuse the jewel whole once again. Kagome begins to shake, her stomach retches, a terrible ache in her side.

When she can feel the pull of time returning her, she looks in the direction Sesshoumaru last stood. He was no longer standing there. Tears fall, but before she can disappear altogether, she is grabbed from her shoulder, and spun around into the arms of her lover. She holds on tightly to him, not wanting to go just yet.

The wind swirls around both, their hair intertwine with each others. Her tears fall harder, she holds her head to his chest, crying louder. “Will we ever see each other again?” Her body begins to fade in the surroundings, she looks up into his eyes, searching for an answer.

“Time cannot hold me back.”

Kagome is filled with many emotions. She smiles happily to her lover, “I love you, Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru’s eyes widen slightly before he takes her lips in his.

^^^

And that is how it ended. Kagome faded from his time to her own. Traveling in a familiar light, she felt weightless.

What is your wish? A mysterious voice asks from somewhere in her mind.

Crying in her mind scape, Kagome asks, I want to be able to see them again.

As you wish
.

Kagome fell, fell into the nothingness of time and space.

^^^

When she awoke, Kagome was at the bottom of the familiar Bone Eaters Well. Climbing the familiar rope ladder her mother left for her, she reaches the top. Throwing her overly stuffed backpack over the edge, she sits on the rim. The smell of modern day Tokyo assault her senses, being in the feudal era left her senses wishing for the fresh air of untainted earth.

Getting up to open the shed door, she stops just before touching the door. She holds her hand to her chest, where a familiar lump rests beside her breast.

Fear erupts over her, she looks down her shirt and sees the Shikon Jewel. Still in its completed state. ‘My wish wasn’t pure. It was too selfish.’ “No... No... NO!” She falls to her knees and sobs a while into her hands. “After all we’ve done and still it remains!” Hitting the ground with her fist, she regains her cool composure. ‘My job will never be complete.’

Wiping away the remaining tears, she gets up and reaches for the door. ‘I’ve been gone for a whole year... Do they know I’m still alive?’ Sliding open the door, she sneezes from the filth lingering in the air.

All around the shrine, people freeze. Tourist look at the girl dressed in strange clothing. They just continue on their way, thinking she was just cleaning out the old shed.

Walking out of the shed, Kagome looks around at the shrine, people rushing everywhere to pray and give their respects to the shrine. ‘So peaceful.’ She thinks. Going over to the front walk to the house, she sees her grandfather sweeping the floor.

“Grandpa?” The old man stops mid sweep, he begins to shake, slowly turning around to look at the person who called to him.

“K-Kagome?” When he turns completely around, there he sees his long lost granddaughter, looking even more holy then ever before.

Not holding back, she rushes to his side and hugs his trembling body. “Grandpa!” Slowly he hugs her back, wishing that this is not a dream.

(Crying a lot don’t she?)

Grandpa begins to rush into the house screaming, “Kagome’s back!”

Kagome begins to laugh at her grandfathers antics. She walks slowly to the house, stopping when the frantic stomps of her family descending the stairs quickly.

The sliding doors slam open, revealing her stunned family. “Well, don’t I get a hug? I won’t bite you know.” Stretching her arms out wide, she gets pummeled first by her little brother Souta.

“Kagome! Where were you? You never came back, and Inuyasha never came and we were all worried and-“ Kagome cut him off with a kiss to the cheek.

“I missed you too Souta.” Her mother and grandfather came up next to give Kagome a hug and fond over how much they missed her over the year she was gone.

Kagome felt dizzy. Her stomach was beginning to act up again. ‘What is wrong with me?’

Seeing that her daughter is turning green, “Kagome? Is everything alright?”

“Yeah, fine. I-I just gotta...!” Running to a side of the sidewalk, Kagome throws up.

“Common Kagome! You could have told us we were nauseating you!” Souta says while seeing if she is ok.

“Uhg! That tasted horrible!” Spitting out the last of the mess, she gets up and wipes out her mouth. Seeing as how her family is looking at her like she caught the plague, she looks at them weirdly, “What?! You try traveling through the well up-side-down!”

Her family begins to laugh at her. Soon even Kagome is laughing. “Hey, Souta. Did you get bigger?”

“Yeah I sure did Kagome!”

“So tell us Kagome, why were you gone for the year?”

^^^

For the next few days Kagome told her family all of what happened. Being kidnapped by Sesshoumaru, helping Rin from her illness, being caught by Naraku, Inuyasha’s death, the defeat of Naraku, the completion of the Shekon Jewel. Even about her and Sesshoumaru, of course, they didn’t need to know everything that happened between them. (Hint* Spring)

Kagome continued her highschool learning, being home schooled. But when she wouldn’t stop throwing up, her mother took her to the hospital, and she found out the news.

“Miss Higurashi, your daughter is pregnant.” Her mother didn’t take that information too well. In fact, she passed out on the floor.

Which made it a very interesting story to tell her mother about.
