It was a normal day. Inuyasha and the gang where walking towards a village were a rumor had spread, saying that there was a demon that possessed a jewel shard. As they approached the village Kagome started to complain. It was clear that she was mad.

"Inuyasha! I'm tired! Can't we take a short brake before going into battle again!" Kagome wined. "Kag! You know as well as I do, that if we take a brake Naraku could go and take the jewel shard!" Inuyasha turned around. 'Damn she's cute when she's mad' Inuyasha thought. `If only…if only she knew….how I really feel…' Inuyasha's face quickly changed from mad to sad. "Inuyasha? What's wrong?" Kagome walked up to him. "Huh? Oh it's nothing Kag. Just thinking." 'What the hell's wrong with me? Why can't I stop thinking about her?' Inuyasha's mind was working overtime on that thought. "Hello? Earth to Inuyasha?!" Kagome waved her hand in front of his face. "Can we take a rest or what?" Inuyasha mumbled under his breath something. "What was that? I didn't here you Inuyasha." Kagome looked down to his face. "I said we can take a brake!" Inuyasha blurted out. "And besides, I need some time to think" Inuyasha said under his breath.

`Why is he acting so strange?' Kagome thought as they settled down under the shade of a tree. "Kagome? Earth to Kagome?!" Sango snapped her fingers in front of her friend. "What? Oh. What's up Sango?" Kagome blushed a little. "I was wondering if you could go get some fire wood with Inuyasha." Sango pointed to Inuyasha who was waiting for her a little impatient. `Damn Inuyasha's so hot. If I could only…..tell him how I really feel….But I doubt he'll feel the same way for me….'Kagome waked towards Inuyasha. He looked at her. He knew something was on her mind, but he didn't ask.

"Can I go?" Shippo asked impatiently. Before he could run after them Miroku caught him. "Let them be. They need to find each other." Miroku sat the little kitsune down and walked towards Sango. "They seemed to have a lot on their minds. Maybe it'd be wise not to bother them. No matter what hour it is. Even if they come back early, its best if we don't ask." Sango eyed Miroku. "I won't ask! I promise!" Miroku waved his hands in front of him.

Kagome and Inuyasha walked down the tree filled path searching for wood to burn. "Kagome…..I have something to tell you." Inuyasha suddenly stopped. He was blushing. He hadn't realized that Kagome had slipped out of were she was to get some logs she had spotted earlier ago. `Damn wench' He cursed in his mind. He spotted Kikyo just out of the corner of his eye.

As Kagome walked up to where she had seen Inuyasha. She saw him talking to Kikyo, and she thought it was gonna be like always. Inuyasha declaring his eternal love to her and then kissing her. And Kagome running of to her time. "I better leave…." Kagome whispered. Tears were stinging her eyes. She fought to hold them back but she couldn't.

Inuyasha was talking to Kikyo. "Inuyasha go to hell with me…" Kikyo pleaded. "Not this time bitch. My heart is no longer yours. So, by me, you can rot in hell for all I care." Inuyasha said coldly. He saw Kagome running passed him and Kikyo. `Oh shit! Did she see me? Fuck!' Inuyasha ran after Kagome, leaving Kikyo dumbfounded.

Kagome sat at the well. She was crying. She was so mad at Inuyasha. If he only knew how she felt, maybe their relationship would change. `Yeah like he'd return the feelings…..' Kagome chuckled at the thought, but soon found it very hard to keep laughing at herself. "Damn you, you bastard! Why the hell did I have to fall in love with you! You out of all people! You!" She started to cry. "I would wait days for you! Years even! If you'd just come back to me and say you loved me…" Kagome sobbed as she cried to herself.

`I've been waiting all day for you babe

So won't you come sit and talk to me and

Tell me how we're gonna be together always'

"Why couldn't I sleep one night? Without you're face appearing before me….smiling…" Kagome was struggling to keep herself from crying. "Why couldn't you be the pillow? That way I could hug you forever! Why?!"

`Hope that when you know it's late at night

I hold onto my pillow tight

And think of how you promised me for ever'

"Why do you even bother to look at me with loving eyes if you don't really mean it? How? Why? How did you manage to steal my heart like this?!" Kagome didn't notice Inuyasha was listening. `She loves me. I can't believe I didn't notice it before' Inuyasha thought.

"Kagome….." Inuyasha stud up and jumped right in front of Kagome. "Listen I…." "Shut up! I have nothing to say to you!" "Listen! Just here me out!" "Phf! Fine! Whatever!" "I told Kikyo I didn't love her any more. That my heart belonged to someone else now." "Yeah right! You'll probably go back to her in a heart beat! Just…….get out of my face!"

`Get out! (Leave)

"Kagome just give me a chance!" Inuyasha grabbed her arm before she could get away. "I said get out of my face!" She tried to pull away, but his grip was to strong. "You'll probably call her during the night! So let me go!" "No! I…….I'm still a little confused but I know who I want." Inuyasha had a confused look in his eyes and face. "Really?" She said coldly.

`Tell me why you're looking so confused

When I'm the one who didn't know the truth'

"If you have then why did I see you with her?" Kagome looked at Inuyasha coldly. "You know how bad you've hurt me..." Kagome tried to break the heavy gaze that Inuyasha was giving her but she couldn't." I already told you what I said to her! I don't…I won't ever go back to her!" Inuyasha's golden eyes were pleading for forgiveness. "Are you sure you won't go back to her? Ever? You sure? You sure you won't ever be so cold and backstabber to me ever again?"

`How could you ever be so cold?

To go behind my back and call my friend

"Tell me Inuyasha…..Say it to my face that you don't love her….and that the one you chose…..was….me" Kagome broke the gaze and turned her head to the side knowing that he was going to say he loved Kikyo. "Maybe it's my fault….for not telling you before…" Kagome whispered.

"Kagome I….." "If you love Kikyo……I...I-I'll understand." It was clear to Inuyasha that she was holding her tears back. "Kagome…." `How can I tell her?' Inuyasha was thinking of ways to tell her but he couldn't find a way around it. He had to tell her face to face. "Just….Get Out!" Kagome still didn't look at him.

"Inuyasha leave! If you're not going to answer me, then leave!" Kagome stood up and walked away. Inuyasha grabbed her arm before she could leave. "I want you…I need you. I need you to love me….full hearted not half hearted…..Inuyasha." Kagome felt the pressure on her arm subside a little.

But I have no choice, you've gotta leave.

"Kagome! I'm sorry! I need you more than anything in my life! If you go away I don't know what I'll do! Please stay with me!" Inuyasha pleaded. "Leave me alone! If you won't say those three words than its best you leave!" Kagome wanted to cry but she refused to cry.

Inuyasha turned Kagome around meeting her sorrowful gaze. He knew she was in pain; he dug his pride and looked her straight in the eyes. "Kagome. I know you're hurting but please hear me out. I don't love Kikyo. I will never go to her or see her again on purpose. If we run in to her I'll shrug her of. And the person I love….It's you Kagome. I love you. Only you. Nobody else only you. Not Kikyo but…" Inuyasha was cut of by the feeling of Kagome's lips against his. It was a passionate kiss. Kagome was teasing Inuyasha; she was licking at the bottom of his lip, biting and nipping at his lips. Before Inuyasha could deepen the kiss, Kagome parted herself from Inuyasha, making him whimper at the loss of her sweet lips against his. "That's all I needed to hear Inuyasha. I love you. I love you more than you could ever know……..Inuyasha." Inuyasha suddenly blushed. "Kagome…..will you…..will you be my mate?" Kagome put a surprised face. `Shit! Now she's gonna reject me!'
