InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Leaving ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Leave

Thestral…

AN: I've got a serious case of writers block on my other story, After The End, so I decided to write a one-shot fic to see if I could get some inspiration from it. This fic was inspired and named after the song Leave by Matchbox Twenty.

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha or the song Leave or Matchbox Twenty.

A full moon hung over the small traveler's hut situated at the side of the road. Soft snores and murmured words came from it, their creators unaware as one of their number slid outside and settled himself in the loving boughs of an old pine. He turned his head to the skies, golden eyes observing the slow dance of the stars, letting the soft calm scents of the earth envelope him completely. Silvery wisps of hair blew over his face and he made no attempt to brush them aside.

It's amazing

how you make your face just like a wall

how you take your heart and turn it off

how I turn my head and lose it all

He sat curled into the pine for hours until a soft rustling from the brush and scrub broke the enveloping silence. She looked up to him a question clearly showed itself in her doleful grey eyes. She stood unnoticed for minutes before he looked to her.

It's unnerving

how just one move puts me by myself

there you go just trusting someone else

now I know I put us both through hell

He looked to the tiny hut where his companions still slept, unaware of his absence, and a small smile spread across his face, fond memories filled his heart. He looked down to the dead lifeless golem that contained a soul that had once been untarnished, clean, and he felt only sorrow.

I'm not saying

there wasn't nothing wrong

I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me

I'm not saying

we ever had the right to hold on

I just didn't wanna let it get away from me

Her eyes pleaded with his, free her, let her go. But she also didn't want the answer she knew she needed, the one she needed to rise to purity again.

But if that's how it's gonna leave

straight out from underneath

then we'll see who's sorry now

if that's how it's gonna stand, when

you know you've been depending on

the one you're leaving now

the one you're leaving out

"I won't go to hell with you," his words freed her from the seemingly everlasting hate implanted in her by the cause of her and so, so many other's troubles, their tortures ,"but you won't go there either, I won't let you, you're too good for that."

It's aggravating

how you threw me on

and you tore me out

how you're good intentions turn to doubt

the way you needed time to sort it out

"Thank you." With that last word her pure soul left the unholy golem it had inhabited for so long. As she rose to the heavens the golem crumbled, falling to dust, and releasing the long kept souls it had absorbed during its escapades.

Tell me is that how it's going to end

when you know you've been depending on

the one you're leaving now

and the one you're leaving out

She was gone but someone so like yet different from her had emerged from the tiny hut.

"You finally freed her InuYasha," The girl from the future said as she looked up into his golden eyes with her almond ones, "I knew you could."

AN: Okay that's it my first one-shot and my second fic, but I need to clarify something I'm not a Kikyo lover or hater. I don't really like her that much but I think she deserves a happy ending, I'm the same with Koga. Any way now that that's out of the way PLEASE REVEIW, like always, I wanna know how much I Suck. ;^)

Arigato,

Thestral…
