Legends:4: Miroku2004
Weeks went by, the King still refused to give into the demands of the kidnappers. Miroku had been meeting Sango at STARBUCKS every Friday night since that day in the market. This night was not unlike any other night. Miroku sat at the corner table, waiting for Sango to grace him with her presence, causally sipping on his mocha latte.
The bell chimed casually to signal that someone had walked through the door, on instinct Miroku looked up from his coffee. He saw Sango smiling to him, making her way passed the hoards of people. He stood up as she sat down, and sat back down when she was settled.
"Hey." she said casually.
"Hey, I didn't know if you would come."
Sango rolled her eyes, "You say that every week." she took over her jacket and laid it causally on the back of her chair.
"I ordered you a latte, it should be here soon." Miroku said absently as he watched her play with her hair. She pulled it into a pony tail and then pulled it to one side so that her hair could lay in one mound upon her shoulder.
"Arigato." they had talked about everything there was to say. They still hadn't talked about where Sango lived, or where Miroku lived, or what either of them did for work. Neither wanted to give away such information.
The pair talked for hours, as usual, and only tore themselves apart when the sun was well passed down and the moon was high. Often they would talk long after the coffee shop had closed and would sit outside on the bench to talk some more.
"Will I see you next week?" Miroku asked innocently. His hands had been known to wander and Sango had to watch him extra hard when he had that look about him.
"Maybe." she smiled curiously.
"Maybe?" he repeated.
"Hai. If I do show up, it'll be around the same time." she stood up and began walking home. "Bye Miroku." she waved casually and turned the corner.
"She'll be back next week." Miroku smiled cockily to himself and walked back to the palace.

Sesshomaru and Rin sat outside on the cold ground, though the biting weather didn't seem to bother the couple as they talked. Shippo was off in the woods, probably building a trap to catch the squirrles. Inuyasha sat inside the shack, bored. Sango was out gather wood. While Kagome was off looking for Shippo.
"Well, he'll come back eventually." Kagome announced as she walked into the shack.
"I could've told you that." Inuyasha stated. Kagome rolled her eyes in response. She wanted to go out for coffee with Sango but Inuyasha insisted that she stay here because he didn't want her to run away.
"Why haven't you run yet? We aren't keeping a close eye on you. At least, not as close as we were a few weeks ago."
"I know. I see no reason to leave." Kagome told him, but more told herself.
"Why? It's not like life is great here."
"You don't know Inuyasha. At least here you have friends, you have the love of a family. Sure, it is an unconvential family, but look at you guys." Kagome looked toward the door, beyond which she could picture Sess and Rin huddling closely in front of the fire, Shippo no doubt near by plotting Sesshomaru's demise (it was obvious Shippo liked Rin). "I wish my family was like this. I wish I had someone who cared. I have one person, one friend, and you have . . . a family." Kagome sat down on a crate and looked into Inuyasha's eyes, seeing pure sadness.
"Who is your friend?"
Sango walked toward the shack to ask what to make for dinner when she heard Inuyasha and Kagome's conversation. She only had one friend? She was just as curious to find out who so she didn't interrupt.
"Miroku Ozu. He was a monk in training, but a perverted little guy none-the-less. He was the best." Sango smiled to herself. The same Miroku that she was seeing, was Kagome's best friend ?
"Hey Kagome, hey Yash."
"Hey Sango." they said in unison.
"Kagome, want to go to STARBUCKS with me tomorrow?"
"She can't go!" Inuyasha stood up angrily. "What if she runs away?"
"I'll watch her."
"I promise I won't run away." Kagome reassured him.
"No." he said simply.
"Fine. I'll fight you for it." Sango prepared a stance.
"No Sango." he looked at her determination. "Fine, but you can't use Kirara."
"Deal."

"I'm so glad you won Sango." Kagome said as she helped Sango prepare some water for Ramen.
"Me too. I have a surprise for you." Kagome tilted her head in curiosity.
"What is it?"
"You'll find out tomorrow." Kagome pouted but didn't pry.
"Shippo and Rin sittin in a tree." Inuyasha teased as he watched Shippo hit on Rin. (or as much as a small kit does hit on a girl).
"Shut up Inuyasha! Rin likes Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin spat out before she realized what she was saying.
"Oh do you Rin?" Sesshomaru asked, a smile almost played across his lips. The girl was three years younger than he, making her eighteen, just younger than the Princess.
Rin blushed deeply, furious with herself for letting out, what she thought was such a well kept secret. She nodded slightly, answering Lord Sesshomaru's question. Sesshomaru actually smiled at this, he pulled her close to him and she smiled happily.
Shippo seemed upset but he knew he would get over it, after all he was only sixteen and still had hundreds of years left to live.
Kagome liked hanging out with these people, they were friendly, and fun to be with. If only Miroku and Kaede were here too, than her life would be perfect.

The rain came down in fierce torrents, as the wind howled around them.
"Maybe we should get coffee some other time?" Kagome yelled.
"No I don't think so! You really want to go tonight." Sango replied, "Besides you're already wet." she smiled and continued jogging.
Finally inside the warmth, and more importantly the dry, of the coffee shop, Kagome began drying off. She bent her head down, trying to get water off her face, and kicked her shoes on the convenient welcome mat.
"I didn't think you'd come - because of the rain. I am glad you did." Miroku stood up from the table he'd been sitting at. He looked over at Sango's friend. "Kagome?" Kagomes mind had absently noted the voice was familiar. She looked up at the sound of her name.
"Miroku?" she couldn't believe who she was seeing.
"Kagome!" he was just as dumfounded.
"Miroku!" she leapt into his arms and he caught her with ease. She hugged him closely, not believing he was here. Miroku put her down and smiled happily.
"Where were you? You were kidnapped? By who?"
"Slow down. First off I'm staying with . . . well .. . how are you?"she changed subjects not wanting Sango and Inuyasha to get in trouble.
"She is staying with me. My best-friend kidnapped her." Sango answered truthfully.
"I thought he was your boyfriend." Kagome interrupted.
"Yash? Yuck. Not my type."
"So what is your type?" Miroku smiled lecherously. Sango rolled her eyes and Kagome interrupted.
"He was exiled Miroku - it's horrible - he doesn't deserve it." Kagome said.
"What can we do about it?"
"Something has to be done."

*yawn* another day, another chapter. Blah blah . . . here is chapter four, hopefully chapter five will be up soon, and this story might be wrapped up by chapter seven. I know, it's a short story but I just can't drag it out. *sigh* if you have suggestions or want to tell me how much I rock *bats eyelashes rapidly* please leave a review. Of course, you can tell me how much I suck too. But then I will set you ablaze, and that is never fun. ^_^
