Legends:5: Going . . . somewhere2004

The girls thought it best to not tell Inuyasha about their 'master plan'. Most likely he would just get irritated and scream. Kagome dried off from the rain and curled up on the floor. Sesshomaru and Rin were laying carelessly on the couch, Rin obviously sleeping and Sesshomaru admiring her beauty. Shippo was in the corner, he too was curled up in a small ball sleeping. Inuyasha sat in the center of the room, he wasn't sleeping, or even doing anything but staring. Sango hadn't come home yet, Kagome left because Sango said she wanted to talk to Miroku for a little while longer. Kagome sighed and closed her eyes, determined to ignore how freezing cold she was. Inuyasha noticed her involuntary shiver. He couldn't help but feel something toward this girl. She was not only the Princess, she had an attitude, she was loving, kind, passionate, dominating, submissive. There was not one trait that she didn't both posses and lack. She was a true puzzle. As he watched her shiver he shed his oversized sweatshirt and threw it on her, seemingly carelessly but with great care. Kagome felt the mysterious cloth and without even opening her eyes she cuddled close to it, embracing the warmth it still held from being on Inuyasha's body. She mumbled a 'thank you' to the hanyou, knowing he was the only one awake. He 'feh'ed and she rolled her eyes within her eye lids. Inuyasha shivered as a cold breeze swept under the pitiful door and he rubbed his arms to shake away the Goosebumps. Watching Kagome sleep, warm huddled under his sweatshirt, he suddenly didn't feel so cold anymore.

"Wake up wench!" Inuyasha pulled his sweater off her and she shuddered at the sudden cold attacking her exposed flesh. "Come on! We are going to go out for firewood!" he shouted.

She yawned silently, but widely, putting the back of her hand to her mouth she asked, "Firewood?"

"Hai, firewood. Ya deaf? Lets go!" he practically yanked her off the floor and dragged her out the door.

"Where is everyone?" Kagome asked.

"Sesshomaru and Rin left to go to his office. Shippo went out hunting with Sango."

"Yuck. Hunting."

"Damn vegetarians." Inuyasha rolled his eyes, "they aren't really hunting. They are stalking each other, as practice."

"Oh." Kagome nodded her realization. "Hey wait a second. Sesshomaru has an office? I thought you couldn't have jobs."

"Well, let me explain, he works on the other side of these little mishaps, under King Emmanuel. Since he is a pure demon, the King doesn't mind him so much, as long as he promises not to share his money with me." Inuyasha explained.

"Oh."

"He doesn't leave because he is my brother, my clan, we stick together always." he explained, answering her unasked question.

Kagome just nodded, allowing this fresh information to sink in. She wanted to tell him that soon Miroku would talk the King into giving up enough money to get her to be free, then she would become Queen and fix all the problems in the world. She thought he might find her slightly heroic, maybe it would intrigue him into liking her. *No no Kagome! URG! You can not like your kidnapper! You can't do it!* Kagome looked over to Inuyasha. He still held her hand, whether he meant to or not she didn't really care. The morning sun bounced off his hoary locks and passed through his sharp amber eyes reflecting them to twice their brilliance and shine. Kagome found her mind wandering far away from the path ahead of her. Her senses were completely engulfed in the hanyou walking beside her. She took a deep breath, and though there were the scents of the forest and the fresh rain, she could smell his pure untainted scent. He smelled of a . . . she couldn't even pinpoint what it was that made his smell so invigorating. It was simply 'his' scent. His face was pensive and she wondered what could be keeping his angelic smile from gracing his lips. She had only seen him smile twice, and both times melted her heart in ways nothing else could have. Her thoughts followed her eyes down his sculpted body, around his broad, beautiful shoulders, down his arm and to his clawed hand. His clawed hand entangled with hers, so easily. His hands were callused from years of hard work and improper care, but yet they were delicate, and soft. Kagome examined how small her hand looked wrapped around his, but they fit together so perfectly. She gazed back up his body to see his intense eyes gazing fully at her.

"Feh. What are you staring at?" he asked. Kagome blushed redder than all the cherry tomatoes she had ever seen in her life.

"Nothing. Why were you looking at me?" she shot back.

"I wasn't." he retorted.

"Obviously you were, or you wouldn't have thought I was looking at you."

Inuyasha knew that Kagome was right and to cover up for his carelessness he answered with a simple "Feh."

"Anyway," he quickly recovered, "We are here. Start picking up the firewood" Kagome rolled her eyes and went to lean over the giant stock pile to collect the wood as Inuyasha had asked when she realized, she only had one hand.

Inuyasha looked down at his hand, still griping hers. He blushed and pulled it away silently, looking away. Kagome blushed too, but a smile was dancing upon her face rather than a look of humiliation.

Inuyasha began chopping fresh logs to fill the stockpile once Kagome had loaded the back they would use to carry the wood back to the shack. Inuyasha looked over to watch Kagome, she was nearing the end of the pile and she was bending over ever so slightly to reach the lower logs. Her skirt revealed just enough soft flesh to cause Inuyasha's groin to twitch. Kagome began to sweat slightly and her face glistened in the sun. Inuyasha continued to stare at her until he realized he wasn't chopping wood, which was his job. He did begin his chopping, though his eyes rarely left Kagome's luscious curves. It morning was warming up quite a bit and as the axe came down on his fiftieth piece of wood Inuyasha cut, he began to sweat. He shed his shirt and wiped the sweat from his brow. Kagome finished packing the bag of firewood and looked over to tell Inuyasha she was done. Her sentence was cut from her throat before it even started. Inuyasha's body glistened in the sunlight, sweat slicking his flesh. Kagome watched as his biceps flexed with each stroke that the axe flew into the air and back down to the chopping block. She was pretty sure her mouth was hanging open and wouldn't be surprised if she was drooling too. She was in a trance, watching his body easily perform the manual labor. Inuyasha wanted to catch another glimpse of Kagome but as he looked over he saw that she was already staring. This caused a smirk to form on his round lips. He dropped the axe and walked over to Kagome, something compelling him to touch her.

Kagome idly noted that he was no longer standing there, but rather walking dangerously closer to her, a predatory gleam in his eye. Kagome tried to walk backwards but tripped over the wood she had packed up and fell to the ground. She struggled up and when she was finally on her feet again Inuyasha was inches from her. He placed his hands on her hips and looked into her eyes, their warm breaths mingled with one another. Inuyasha lost control at her enticing smell and his lips softly brushed hers. He pulled back, waiting for a rejection. When none came he tried again, this time with more confidence. He cupped Kagome's chin with his right hand and silently demanded that she open her mouth to him. She obeyed and he explored her mouth for all it had to offer. Her taste was amazing, even more so than her scent. It drove him dizzy with need. Kagome mentally thought about the precariousness of this situation, but as Inuyasha's tongue battled hers she pushed all rational though as far away from her mind as possible. Allowing her hands to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer to her, she surrendered to his touch. His hand moved from her chin to her neck, his thumb caressing her cheek while is claws gently drew careless designs along the side of her neck. His other hand roamed up her back and back down, across the flesh of her mid-drift. Inuyasha silently thanked Kami for mid-drift shirts.

Kagome leaned in to his touch, forcing him to accept her against him. She had only kissed two people in her whole life, Kouga which caused her gag reflexes, and Miroku, but he was more of a best friend than anything and after things felt awkward. With Inuyasha, it was like no feeling she had ever felt. She just knew that she need more of him. He left her lips and she pouted at the loss, but was happy for a breath of air. Inuyasha placed soft, but demanding, kisses along her neck and down across her collar bone. Kagome rolled herself against him and he accepted her offer.

Kagome had gone with Sango to see Miroku again. The three had agreed that Kagome would tell Inuyasha everything, go home, become Queen and then make sure they got the proper respect they deserved. Kagome hadn't told Sango or Miroku about what happened between her and Inuyasha. She didn't think Inuyasha had told anyone either because Sango wasn't giving her any odd glances or sideways winks.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome walked into the hut where she assumed Inuyasha would be sitting with a less than happy look on his face. "Inuyasha?" she asked, looking around the hut. He was no where in sight. Sango seemed just as perplexed as she sat down, trying to warm up from the harsh rain the pair had trudged through . . . twice.

Miroku would have offered them a ride back to the cabin, but he didn't have a car. Miroku had spent a good half hour trying to get Kagome to return with him, but in the end, she had the idea to explain to Inuyasha first. He sighed and allowed Sango and his Kagome leave.

"Where is he?" Kagome asked, turning to Sango, who was shedding her clothes to change into something drier.

"I don't know." Sango didn't seem that concerned.

Kagome don't know why she felt an immediate attraction to the stubborn hanyou, she just did. He was angry and happy, kind but harsh. His constant contrasts intrigued her, she had never met anyone like him. She had never met anyone. Slowly she calmed herself and sat down, she didn't seem to realize her clothes were dripping with water, and she was involuntarily shivering.

"You're going to catch your death. Put these on." Sango tossed her a pair of sweat pants and a sweatshirt. "Don't worry about him, he can handle himself." Sango reassured her.

"I know." Kagome tried to seem as though she didn't care where he had gotten off to.

Kagome changed but she still felt wet and cold. The cold always made her sleepy. In that respect it was no wonder she fell asleep almost instantly.

She woke the next morning to see Inuyasha looming over her. Apparently he had been trying to wake her for some time.

"Hi." she said brightly, despite the tiredness she was feeling.

"It's time for you to go." he demanded. He sat on a crate, as far away from her as he could possibly get without going outside.

"What?" she asked. Making sure she had heard him right.

"It's time for you to go. I don't want to see you in this house anymore." his voice was harsh, but it held a tint of hurt that Kagome barely detected.

"But Inuyasha. My friend Miroku . . . we are going to get you guys hel-"

"Shut up! I don't need your pity. Sango told me everything!" he shouted angrily.

"But we are going to hel-" she was cut off again.

"Just go home!" he was angry.

"Inuyasha! No! Not until you explain to me what happened here. Just yesterday you were . . . we were. And now, you are just sending abandoning me?"

"You betrayed me. You went to talk to your friend again. You were using me until you could get out of here! As far as I'm concerned, you don't exists to me!" he took a bit of a breath. "Now get out of my house and never talk to me again!"

Kagome felt herself begin to cry, she didn't understand what was wrong with him. She gathered her clothes and ran out the door. The morning was bright and cheery, completely opposite of how she felt. She didn't know where to go.

The sound of her flip-flops engulfed her hearing and all she could focus on was her destination. Then it occurred to her, she had no true destination. Anywhere but home and especially anywhere but Inuyasha's. She stormed angrily down the empty street mumbling curse names in regard to the self-absorbed hanyou.

"Go home Kagome - You don't belong here!"

"But Inuyasha. . . "

"It was a mistake . . . a worthless mistake." he screamed

His voice echoed in her thoughts, they flooded her head as the sun rose higher and higher over the pavement. Suddenly, the scent of lilac overtook her senses and for the first time in her aimless wonderings she noticed her surrounds. She seemed to be at a park. Kagome collapsed to the ground, crying. The beauty of the park and the gorgeous scent of lilac caused her to crumble. "How could it be a mistake? How could he not want to be with me?" suddenly her sadness was overcome with anger - a stronger anger than she had ever felt.

"I'll show him! I'll . . . GRRRR!" she stood up and ran in the direction of the palace. "You wait Inuyasha. You wait!"

Hanyou is in trouble. *uh oh!* Is it me or are my chapters getting shorter? *tear*
