Here is Chapter 9
"You have awesome gardens." Inuyasha commented.
"Aren't they lovely. Rosa works hard on them."
The pair walked side - by - side down the garden path; talking about nothing in particular. They didn't dare to be close, for fear of who was watching them. Kagome didn't want something bad to happen to Inuyasha, though nothing much worse could happen.
"It's getting late. I should probably go." Inuyasha commented as he glanced up at the rising moon. "Can I see you tomorrow?"
"I don't know. I am suppose to hook up with this really cute hanyou." Kagome teased.
"Yeah? Well, I got plans with this chick . . ." Inuyasha pretended to be 'cool' as he put his arm around the backside of the bench and slouched down dramatically, "Yeah, she be a Princess." Kagome began laughing at his antics.
"Is that so?"
"Hell yeah." Inuyasha smiled back at her and slowly leaned in for a kiss.
Kagome turned her head away, rather forcefully, and stated "Maybe we shouldn't. I just don't want people to be watching. Ya know? I am just nervous about what might happen." she explained quickly.
"I see." he turned his head and faced forward, suddenly becoming serious. "guess I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay." with that he got up and followed the path back to his own 'house'.
Kagome walked back up to the palace and into her room. "KAGOME!"
"Miroku?"
"I'm still stuck out here!" he yelled angrily.
"Ohmigod! I am so sorry!" she quickly ran over to the window and helped Miroku inside.
"Thanks." he stated sarcastically.
"Sorry." she repeated, putting on the cutest face she could.
"Oh no, not that. Nu uh." he looked at her, her eyes pleading for him to accept her apology. "Nope, ain't gonna happen." he looked again, and her lip began quivering. "Fine. I forgive you for leaving me on the window sill all day."
"Oh thank you Miroku" she threw her arms around him in a dramatic hug.
"Hai, hai." his hand began wandering, as Kagome's hand made contact with his cheek.
"Perv."
"You know you like it."
"Out." Kagome stated sternly, pointing to the door.
"But -"
"Out!"
"But I -"
"OUT! Or I'll tell Sango." she crossed her arms over her chest in a look of clear defiance.
"Okay, I am gone."
Kagome rolled her eyes. "Lech."

"Kagome, I feel very awkward about what happened. Had I known you were so unhappy . . . surely something else can be arranged."
"Really Kouga? You aren't . . . mad?" Kagome asked nervously.
Kouga had arranged an 'urgent' get - together with the King and Kagome. Now the King was no where to be seen and Kagome was stuck in the throne room with Kouga.
"Of course I am not mad. Our two sides will be united and all will be fine. It just wont be by marriage." he paused briefly, looking at a picture of General Overture, "Perhaps a final battle will decide who should rule both sections hmm?"
"No! Not a battle. War is pointless. No one ever wins."
"Ahh, that is something losers say." he laughed at his own stupidity.
"Seriously Kouga. Killing tons of people, just to see who is stronger? Isn't that a little . . . sick?"
"No." he responded flatly.
"Well, I think it's dumb. Why don't we just break off into two separate countries?"
"Oh hai. That'll work." he stated, his voice sarcastic. "Kagome, we can't alter everything that much."
"What do you mean 'alter' it? It's not like there is some law that says two feuding sections can't break off into individual countries."
"True. But what about the common land in the middle?"
"Take it. What do we care? It's only like thirty miles or something."
"Three hundred and seventeen miles and twelve feet to be exact." Kouga sat down on the Kings throne and glared at Kagome.
"Whoa. Okay, so we split it."
"Then we have to draw new boundary lines, and tell the whole nation. It's a big ordeal. No, too much work. What we do is combine; a battle will do nicely. Our military is prepared." Kouga stood up once again, preparing to leave.
"NO!" Kagome pushed him back onto the throne. "WE WILL NOT HAVE A BATTLE OVER LAND! THAT IS POINTLESS AND DUMB! THERE HAS GOT TO BE ANOTHER WAY TO SOLVE THIS!"
"Are you finished?" Kouga asked calmly, though fear was evident in his eyes.
"NO!" she took deep calming breaths but nothing seemed to be working.
"I DON'T CARE!" Kouga forcefully stood up, knocking Kagome to the ground. Quickly, he picked her up and held her by her throat against the wall. "You listen here 'Princess'" he mocked, "You will marry me, or we will have a war. Either way, I get the land and you will be locked in the dungeon for the rest of your pitiful existence. You slut." Barely able to breathe Kagome simply nodded, praying he'd release her.
Her prayers were answered as he dropped her to the ground. "Oh before I forget. Either way. The mutt is going to die. Better say goodbye." He walked swiftly over to the door, grabbing his perfectly tailored coat along the way, and left her alone.
Complete fear hit Kagome as his last words sunk in to her head. "Inuyasha."

"Man I am so fricken board."
"Shut up Inuyasha. You've said that like five hundred times." Shippo complained.
"Well I am. There is nothing to do."
"Then don't do anything. Just shut up."
"I just found something to do."
"Really? What?" Shippo, being as bored as Inuyasha, immediately wanted to know what the distraction was.
"Beating up you." Inuyasha jumped up from where he was sitting on the floor and ran toward Shippo.
"AHHHH" Shippo ran out the door into the forest, dodging trees and jumping over fallen branches.
"Better RUN!"
"HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP! SANGO!! SESSHOMARU!!!! RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Inuyasha laughed as he closed in on the fox demon. "Kagome?" suddenly he stopped running as he saw Kagome enter the clearing.
"HELP!" Shippo, not having noticed the distraction, kept running farther and farther into the forest.
"Inu - Inuya- Inuyasha." Kagome was crying, and her voice was very shaky.
"Kagome? What is it? What is wrong?" Inuyasha put his arm around her and led her slowly into the house.
"Ko - Ko - Ko -"
"Kouga." he filled in.
"he . . . know - knows." she managed between broken sobs.
"Knows wha- oh." Inuyasha put his head down, staring at the floor. "Fuck. This is all my fault. I am sorry Kagome."
"No. It's not your fault." suddenly finding that her information was more important than anything, her crying stopped and she found her voice less broken up. "Inuyasha. You are in danger. Kouga is going to wage a war against my family. In the process he is going to kill a countless number of innocent people. Including you." she took a moment to watch his reaction as it faded from concerned to something unreadable. "Then he is going to rule all the land. We can't let him. I can't let him. You have to leave this country, both sides of it. Just go somewhere. I'll find you when this is all done." she took his hands in hers. "Please. Go. Leave for me.
"I wont leave you Kagome. I refuse to. I am going to help you win this war."
"No. You are going to go. Take Sango, Shippo, Rin, Sesshomaru, and Miroku. You guys are the only friends I have. Take them with you. I'll be okay." she stood up, very determined.
"You can't do this by yourself." Inuyasha stood up behind her.
"I don't plan to." she turned back to him, with a slight smile on her face. "I've got an entire army on my side." she walked up to him, placing her hand on his cheek and pulling him in for a gentle kiss "Please go."
"For you . . . I'll do anything." she smiled at him, allowing her hand to slide down his cheek, before turning away and walking back to the castle. "But I can't do that."

"Souta. I know you don't like me very much. I don't really care for you either. But I need your help."
"Kagome, who said I didn't like you?" Souta asked, looking politely puzzled.
"GRR. WHO CARES? I NEED YOUR HELP!"
"Okay. So what's up?"
"Souta. Kouga is planning an attack on our side of the country. He . . . lets say he is a little mad about the wedding. He plans to take over by . . . over throwing us."
"Are you serious?"
"No I'm lying." Kagome responded sarcastically.
"Sorry." he stated, picking up her sarcasm.
"What are we going to do Souta? I don't want to go into battle but-"
"It seems we have no other choice." he finished.
"Exactly."
"Then . . . we fight."
