Spider Poison

-Kana-

He's back again. I can feel him near. But I don't know where he is. I looked around in the dark. Where? Where is he? I feel him, but I can't see him.

I turned over and looked next to me. Good, Leo's still asleep. Good. But I don't know how long that will last.

-Keisuke-

I found them. It took months, but I did it. My body is worn out. This is the best I can manage for now.

My eyes scanned the darkness. I could smell them. Mmm. Just as good as I remember. I crawled across the floor. I made my way to the futon. He looked so peaceful asleep. It warms my cold little heart.

But then I froze.

She's awake. She's awake but she can't see me. I can't focus on that now. I crawled over to my pet. I at least have enough energy to pull this off. I closed my eyes and crawled into his dreams.

Something wasn't right. Leo couldn't move. He started breathing heavily. But he wasn't alone.

The boy looked behind him. A pale hand grabbed him on the shoulder. Leo's heart thundered against his chest.

“Did you miss me?”

He couldn't answer. He can't think straight. Not this again.

“Please…”

“Please? Please what?”

Leo didn't speak. Sweat formed on his skin. Kana? Kana? He laughed behind the boy.

“She's with me, my pet.”

Kana was still there. She couldn't reach him. It was just like before. The nymph screamed out from behind invisible black glass. They couldn't hear her. However, something was different. She stepped back and took a look. Were those… Were those cracks? Kana reached out to touch the glass. More cracks formed. What was this? Kana looked at the growing cracks.

“What is this?”

Kana tried to piece it together. What was going on here? She looked over at Leo. Maybe she could… Maybe she could…

“Leo! Leo! Leo!”

“What?”

The nymph's heart fluttered in her chest. Good. Kana didn't know how long he could hear her.

“I'm going to get you out of here.”

He didn't answer. Kana knew she had to act fast. The nymph looked around. How was she going to get out of here? She bit on her lower lip.

Meanwhile, Leo tried to move. He felt like he was going to vomit. One thought raced through his mind.

Leo slowly drew his eyes closed, prepared to accept his fate. Eight sharp tendrils stung into his back. The boy let out a wordless gasp. The spider had his hooks into him again. He said one more thing before Leo sank into unconsciousness.

“You will be mine. All of you. Now and forever.”

Leo awoke in a cold sweat and panting. Kana lay huddled over him. Her vessel just stared at her as he went calm. She caressed his cheek. He seized her hand. His eyes looked so empty. Kana alright felt it.

“I don't want to die,” Leo said in a weak voice.

“I know,” she said. He wouldn't let go of her hand. She knew that they would need help. It looked like they would have to turn to Inuyasha and Kagome for help.
