InuYasha sat cross legged on the floor of Miroku and Sango's house. He was trying to be patient, but it was getting harder to do…

“Hiraikotsu!”

The child-sized replica, thrown by one of the four year old twins, hit InuYasha in the nose. He rubbed it and sighed. Where was Shippo when you needed him? These kids needed another youkai to slay!

“I think your uncle InuYasha has had enough of being target practice today,” Kagome said gently, from where she sat drawing with Miroku and Sango's two year old son.

“Can you explain to me again how come we are baby-sitting?” InuYasha said, reaching up and grabbing a giggling little girl before she could whack him again.

“Sango and Miroku had to go to the slayers village,” Kagome said patiently. “It is a long trip, and they asked if we could watch the kids.”

InuYasha sighed, and caught the twins going for their play swords. He shook his head sadly, then smiled and gave a short laugh as they crept up on him with exaggerated stealth.

“Fight us, Uncle Yasha!”

“Draw your sword!”

Standing up, InuYasha drew Tessaiga. It transformed, and the girls squealed in delight. Running up to him, they batted at the huge weapon with their small, wooden swords. Patiently he stood there and let them bat it.

“How come Rin and Kaede couldn't baby sit?” InuYasha said. “Kaede does not have much to do these days, she could have shared the responsibility.”

“Girls, why don't you come over here and see what your brother has drawn,” Kagome said. “Can you show me if you can draw like this?”

A challenge was the only distraction the twins took seriously. They left InuYasha alone and came to sit down with Kagome and the two year old.

Standing up, Kagome began to weave a bit. Before he could question her, she dashed out the door. He followed her and found her puking over the side of the porch.

“There is another good reason we should baby sit,” Kagome said, gasping. “We are going to need the practice…”

InuYasha blanched.
