Author's Note: Hey all, I'm sorry that its been taking me a long time to update with a new chapter, it's just that my muse always leaves me at the weirdest places, and I never did like it… I'm really sorry…

Recap:
As Kagome scooted closer to Inuyasha, the door clicked open and in walked Mrs. Higuarshi, with Kikyo and Souta following in behind her. They sprang apart from each other.

“I didn't know you were home Kagome, Inuyasha I didn't see your car in the driveway. And Kagome, why is Rin home. I thought she didn't have spring break for another month.”

Chapter 10
~*Explanations*~

“Mom, now don't get upset… Rin came home because… well.. why don't you ask her when she gets back from her date?” Kagome spoke calmly.

“And, who did she exactly go out with?” Mrs. Higuarshi asked her daughter.

“Inuyasha's older brother Sesshomarou.” Kagome added.

“Mom, what are we having for dinner?” Souta asked trying to break the unbearable animosity between his sister and mother.

“I'll go fix something. I want to talk to you later, Kagome as well as Rin. Inuyasha are you staying for dinner?” Mrs. Higuarshi asked.

“Well, you see Mrs. Higuarshi, Kagome and I have already ate dinner, I cooked something for her, one the recipes my mother taught me.” Inuyasha embarrassed looked down at the floor as if it had grown several legs. He could feel Kagome and Kikyo's gaze on him.

“Well, Inuyasha and I will be up in my room studying for our test coming up, come on Inuyasha.” This time when Kagome grabbed his sleeve, he followed her out and up the stairs. Kagome flopped on her bed when she and Inuyasha entered her room. Inuyasha closed the door and walked over to Kagome's body.

“Thank the lord, I didn't think I'd ever get out of there. I don't want to talk to them right now.” Kagome mumbled into her pillow and if it wasn't for Inuyasha's heightened sense of hearing he wouldn't have heard it. Inuyasha leaned over Kagome's frame and leaned against her. She obliged and rolled onto her side and looked at Inuyasha. They simply laid there looking at each other, they notice that the air around them had changed. Kikyo had opened the door and looked in on them.

“Kagome, mom wants to talk to you, now!” Kikyo said in her sing-song voice. Kagome knew there was something hidden in her voice, maybe the truth. Kagome eventually got off of her bed and slumped over to the door, she took one last look at Inuyasha who was in turn staring at her. Kikyo grabbed Kagome's arm and turned her around so that she wouldn't have to bear with the heat that was vibrating from Kagome and Inuyasha. When Kagome left the room, Kikyo sauntered over to Inuyasha. He simply stared at her unaware of what was going to happen next.

“Inuyasha, tell me, how do you feel about my sister?” Inuyasha looked at her as if she were from another planet and simply stated.

“I love her.” He said without blinking. He didn't know what to wait for, until that was when Kikyo pulled him up against her and kissed him as the door opened and Kagome peered inside. What she saw made tears creep into her eyes, she tried not to cry. She knew Inuyasha would do something like this. Or that is, he didn't know what was going on, nonetheless, Kagome openly sobbed until Inuyasha pulled away from her and saw Kagome out of the corner of his eyes. He nearly pushed Kikyo onto the floor. He looked ashamed of what Kagome caught him doing. She looked him directly in the eye and said.

“How could you?” Kagome slammed her door shut and ran out of the house, her mother yelling for her to come back. Kikyo laughing and Inuyasha trying to sniff her out. By the time she reached the park it was becoming obfuscated. She could hardly make out where the park benches were until she bumped into the side of one. She slumped onto it as if she couldn't go any further. She knew she had to though, because she knew Inuyasha has a good sense of smell. She tried to get up and walk towards the playset and climbed up the tiny ladders that were meant to hold an infant. She crawled through the tunnel and curled up into a ball so that Inuyasha couldn't sense her very well. She was unfortunately mistaken when she heard footsteps drawing near her body, she was pulled out of the tunnel and into the warmth of Inuyasha.

She cried a good length of time. When she finally pulled away from him, his shirt was soaked with the saltiness and dampness of her tears. She looked up at his face but couldn't make out the details.

“Let me explain Kagome..”

“Why should you, I know what I saw, I saw you two kissing and don't say that it didn't happen because I saw it. I'm not sure what went down in my room between you and Kikyo, but I simply don't want to know.” Kagome tried to escape his grip but didn't succeed.

“It doesn't matter anymore. You need to know what went on between me and Kikyo the thing is, I said something that upset her and she didn't understand what I meant, I guess she thought I was joking but, but she kissed me I pulled her away from me.” Inuyasha started to explain until he got to the end of it, and simply stated that he loved her. And it wasn't like anything he's ever felt before.
“Kagome, I love you.” Inuyasha spit out as fast as he could since he didn't know what to do after that. “Well are you going to say something, now would be the time.” Inuyasha chuckled and sighed against Kagome's forehead.

“I love you too Inuyasha.” Kagome mumbled against his hair. How she said it made Inuyasha want to jump up and down for joy. He didn't want to come off as over excited.

Inuyasha pulled her in for a bear hug and reluctantly drew away from her. He gazed down at her, and leaned in closer as if something was pulling them together. He gently kissed Kagome. Inuyasha bit on her lower lip as if it was in his nature to cause them pleasure. She opened willingly. His tongue searched the recesses of her mouth. When he was enjoying himself, he nibbled on her neck, which left a prominent hickey on her neck. He slowly drew apart from her and released his grasp on her waist.

“Well, I think I should take you home. Your mom was so worried when you left all of a sudden.” Inuyasha gently pulled Kagome along, the walk to the shrine seemed like it took forever because of the silence. All of a sudden Inuyasha decided to sit down, unintentionally he pulled Kagome down as well.

“Inuyasha what are we doing here?” Kagome questioned him, unbeknownst to her Sesshomarou walked toward them.

“Brother, Rin and her family are looking for Miss Kagome; I suggest that you take her home immediately. Before her mother calls the police.” Sesshomarou walked into their mansion that they were seated near.

“Yeah, Inuyasha I think that would be a good idea. My mom will kill me as it is.” Kagome stated.

Inuyasha got of the bench and pulled Kagome and they walked to the shrine in due time. When the sight of the shrine came into his view, he let go of her hand and she lost the warmth, which made her shiver from the coldness that took over her. As Inuyasha saw this, he pulled her in his arms and enveloped her with his warmth. He bent his head down to her and gave her a gentle kiss that she took as a good night. She started up the steps and gazed back down to where Inuyasha stood. He looked up to her and gave her one of his famous smirks.

“I'll see you tomorrow in school.” Inuyasha said before walking the way that they came from.

“Night, Inuyasha.” Kagome whispered to the wind, knowing that the wind would carry her message to him. She continued up the stairs when the door burst open. Her mother and Rin and Souta came running outside to meet her. Rin pulled her sister into a vise, that she didn't want to let go of her sister.

“Okay, Souta, you need to go to bed, it's getting late. Kagome, come in. I want to talk to you. Rin can you go up to your room, I need to talk to her privately.” Mrs. Higuarshi spoke to Kagome and nodded to Rin and Souta. They looked at their sister and journeyed upward towards the rooms. Kagome and her mother walked into the dining room and sat around the table.

“What is exactly going on between you and that well, Inuyasha?” She asked.

“I personally don't know mom. If I knew, I'd tell you but I don't know. May I go get some rest now please?” Kagome asked her mother, she was given a nod and slumped towards the door and up the stairs that led to her bed-chamber.

Blanket Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the anime. Sadly I tell you this, if I did own them, Kikyo would already be gone and wouldn't be back at all. I will add this to every chapter of Lies In Between. I accept the truth that Rumiko Takahashi created and does own them. I thank her for creating characters such as these so I can have my own fun with them .
