Author's Note: I'm so sorry people, please don't throw tomatoes at me. I really am sorry, my muse left me just when I thought I was getting to a good point that I wanted to make. Unfortunately I'm not the great of an author, and some people don't even read these things, and that probably has to do with them being too long. But how I can release my angst for forgetting about my story and my muse leaving me. Oh well, enough of me griping and on with the story…

 

Lies In Between

Chapter 12

~* Dinner with Takahashi's *~

 

When Kagome roused from her nap with Inuyasha she stirred and grunted when Inuyasha tightened his grip around her waist. Slightly she turned her head to look at him, eyes slanted upwards she saw that Inuyasha was glaring at her from waking him from a decent sleep. Kagome tried to shake off his hands because her muscles were beginning to cramp up from sleeping on them. Her foot felt like lead, when she tried to stand on it. She shook her foot trying to bring it back to life without feeling the tingling that always came after you woke it up. She walked it off with Inuyasha following behind her. She blushed when she felt his hands go around her stomach. She didn't see Sesshomarou coming for Inuyasha pulled her flesh against his, as Sesshomarou walked past them. He took one glance at the couple before he cracked a smile. They watched him walk up the stairs to the bedrooms.

 

“Okay, that was weird, him grinning like that. The only time I've seen him grin like that was when I came back from taking you home. Something's up. He's not normally like this.” Inuyasha started, when he took her hand in his and walked into the kitchen, he let them slip apart from each other when he made his way towards the fridge. The sight of ramen still edible he heated some up in the microwave. He grabbed a fork out of the silver-ware and attacked the ramen with famine. He looked up at Kagome and smirked to himself when he didn't ask if she was hungry. Hands crossed in front of her made him think that she was simply irresistible with that smug look on her face. He emptied his ramen bowl in the sink and sauntered over to her, his smirk back across his lips. She couldn't help but to giggle at this act that he always put on when he wanted something. She shook her head as he got closer to her, and stepped aside when she realized that she was within his arms length. He forwarded towards her again while he formed a plot in his brain.

 

Kagome tried to maneuver around the kitchen trying to stall him, but she moved at the wrong second, and Inuyasha grabbed her hand and pulled her along to the stairs and made his way up to his room. When he entered his room, he slammed his body into hers which forced her to step back into the wall. She was cornered and she didn't realize how her body was answering to his. He felt like they were burning in all the heat that enveloped them. Inuyasha smacked his lips against hers, and nibbled on her bottom lip, she opened willingly. He moved against the wooden frame of the outside porch door, forcing Kagome to hold on to his body and roll with him. She tried to break apart from him but only ended up making him more aroused. With that pressing into her abdomen she moaned out. Unconsciously they made their way up to Inuyasha's room. The slamming of the door made Inuyasha pull away from Kagome needing air; he took shallow breaths trying to maintain control of his, yea. Kagome, bedraggled from their actions stood against the wall tried to compose herself. She took one look at Inuyasha and wasn't surprised when she saw the lust in his eyes. She made sure that there was space between the two of them.

 

Inuyasha took one step toward her and was hurt when she took a step away from him. He tried to corner her but only trapped her underneath his body on his queen-sized bed. He tried to twirl her to face him and talk.

 

“Kagome, what's wrong? I thought that you wanted this to happen between us?” Inuyasha inquired to her.

 

“I do, but I don't want to do right now, with everything that has happened between Kouga and I, I don't want to chance anything that we have because of him.” She bit her bottom lip afraid of being left alone because of her prediction of what might become of their plans.

 

Inuyasha leaned into her frame, and cradled her face with his hands and tried to make her look into his eyes.

 

“Kagome, you have to know, that I will not force anything on to you. All you have to do is say that you don't want to do it and I will oblige. Please don't judge me by what that bastard did. I will not do that to you.” Inuyasha paused and searched her face to see if she was ready of what he wanted to say. Not seeing any signs of rejection on her face. He formed the words in his head that he was too afraid to say to anybody. He didn't even tell Kikyo what he felt toward her. He thought he loved her but what he had with Kagome was so much more different than what he had with Kikyo.

 

“Kagome, if I tell you something personal please don't freak out.” Inuyasha cautioned the girl. She nodded her head in response.

 

“I've never told anybody this except maybe my parents, but I think I've fallen in love with you.” Inuyasha kept his eyes on hers waiting for some kind of response from her, all he saw was her face with no kind of emotion on it.

 

“Kagome now would be the time to say something.”

 

Kagome sat quietly watching for something to flicker in her system to tell her if it was some kind of line, only wanting to get into the bed. (No pun intended.) She kept looking in his eyes to see if he were giving something away.

 

“I don't know what to say. The last time I said that, the guy only wanted to get into my pants.” She paused to see if he was going to be annoyed with her response. All he showed was understanding. Kagome tried to escape his bedroom by making her way off the bed but only ended up with getting two feet between herself and Inuyasha before he reacted and gathered her in his arms and held her there for what felt like forever. He finally pulled away from Kagome and gazed down at her, followed his instincts and leaned in and gently pressed his lips against hers.

 

With that Inuyasha pulled away from her and led her down to the kitchen where he started preparing dinner for his family. They took turns making dinner and tonight was his night to cook. He searched through the cupboards and pulled out the flour and grabbed the wax paper. Kagome put some water into a bowl so that he could make Zaru Soba.*

 

Inuyasha started mixing the flour with the water and kneaded it so that the into a dough ball. When he finished that step of the recipe he grabbed his mother's rolling pin and rolled out the dough into a thin layer and then folded the dough so that he could cut it into thin noodles. When he gazed over to the stove, the water came to a boil and he slid the noodles into the water. As he watched the noodles he prepared some miso soup*. He let the noodles cool down and with that he served out portions onto five plates. He grabbed some tsuyu sauce* out of the spice cabinet so that everybody could put however much of it that they wanted to put on their noodles. Kagome looked in the refrigerator and pulled out some Tsukemono* and laid it on the table. As they finished up the meal, Inuyasha's parents entered the house to the smell of dinner ready.

 

The Dining-room was set for five people, chopsticks beside the plate of zaru soba.

 

“Dinner's ready!” Inuyasha yelled loud enough for the entire town to hear him. Sesshomarou entered the room and sat at his designated seat along with his parents. Inuyasha waited until Kagome sat herself down. Inuyasha then announced what they were having. Inuyasha's mother was surprised when was informed that her son made the main dish freshly. Sesshomarou smirked when he thought that Inuyasha would've probably gone down to the store to buy it instead of making it from scratch. The family showed their appreciation by doing their ritual by saying “Itkadakimas!”*

 

After dinner, Inuyasha and Kagome went to the park, they walked throughout it, walking past the playground where they could see parents carting their children to the car to take them home to go to bed. Inuyasha sat down at the nearest bench and pulled Kagome down beside him. Kagome got adjusted to the warmth by laying her head on Inuyasha's shoulder. She was about to close her eyes when Inuyasha gently nudged her awake.

 

“Should I take you home?” When Inuyasha looked down at the girl he noticed that her eyes were starting to close again. He nudged her again trying to make sure that she didn't fall asleep. He unconsciously grabbed the girls shoulders with one hand and the other wrapped around her waist. He carried her bridal style to his place so that he could put her in his car and take her home. Inuyasha shortly after that, went in to get his keys, when he came out again, Kagome was asleep in the passenger seat.

 

When he rounded a corner, Kagome was startled awake at the speed that they were traveling at. She looked at Inuyasha and saw that he was smirking to himself, the music blaring. `How could I've slept through that loud of music… I must have been really tired. Kagome realized that they were parked in front of her house.

Inuyasha looked over at her and pressed his lips against hers. He waited until Kagome returned the kiss that was when he angled his head and tongued her bottom lip. Kagome moaned into the kiss which allowed him access to wander her mouth. Inuyasha reflexively wrapped his arms around her tiny waist and lifted her to his side of the car. His hands roamed her back, and started their voyage round to the front. He felt the wire of the bra and automatically wanted to feel her skin against his.

 

Kagome adjusted herself and slowly closed her mouth and kissed just his lips wanting to pull away to get her breath. She opened her eyes and Inuyasha saw the lust in them and wanted to take her right there, but with the respect of not doing it in the car when they were in front of her house, he pulled away just the same. He kissed her one more time before she had to leave.

 

“I'll see you tomorrow.” Inuyasha pulled her against him for one last kiss for the night. Gathering their sanity and balance, Inuyasha let Kagome get out of his car luckily. As he watched her mount the stairs to the shrine, he watched as her butt swung with every step she took. `Man I'm becoming more like that pervert… That's bad.'

 

Author's Note: I am proud to say that I am finally finished with this chapter… Yeah… oh yeah I just remembered about the stars next to those words…

 

*Zaru Soba~ is a dish in Japan that is made of homemade noodles and you can add anything that you want to.

 

*tsuyu sauce~ is another name of soya sauce

 

*Tsukemono~ is the Japanese word for pickles

 

And *Itkadakimas~ is the Japanese tradition of saying before they eat.
