After 8 long years Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha return home. But there is something they failed to tell Kagome and Rin that may cause problems with Inuyasha's "significant other".

What was going to happen to Rin when he returned to his village was something Sesshoumaru hadn't thought of, but was going to have to think of very soon as they were slowly nearing the gates to the Lord's Village. Inuyasha was at his brother's side with the gang in tow. He softly fingered the left side of his neck, touching his mating mark. This was something he hadn't bothered to tell Kagome about which was a bad thing in itself because his mate was not in fact, Kagome, but another Hanyou.

The mating issue was also heavy on Sesshoumaru's mind. He knew Rin was in love with him and that was a terrible mess to be dealt with. She was a woman now at the age of 15 and it was going to be very easy for someone to want to take her. He had not told her about his mark either. He missed his mate, Shesse. He missed the perfect arch of her brow, the bells of her laugh and the gentle grace with which she carried herself. He sighed dreamily as he thought of her; his heavy sigh brought Inuyasha out of his trance.

“Hm? What's up Big Bro?” Sesshoumaru looked over at Inuyasha and smiled kindly, while ruffling Inuyasha's hair he replied,

“It's nothing Yasha, I was just thinking about Shesse.”

“Yeah, I was wondering how Jade has been these past eight years.” He sighed, “its been too long Sessh.” Sesshoumaru nodded in response as they all entered the gate to the village.
