Chapter 5

Kagome awoke at dawn, she laid on her bed and watch the beautiful golden colors that bloomed across the sky as the sun rose higher and higher. It was so beautiful in this era, it made her want to move out of the city, maybe live on a farm out in the middle of nowhere with only herself and maybe Inuyasha. Kagome gently rose from the bed, on her beauty table was a large bowl filled with hot water that had a number of wash clothes next to it. Kagome sighed o well I guess I couldn't hope for the luxury of a bath everyday Kagome thought to herself as she stripped and began sponge bathing herself. After she had cleaned her self she also noticed a small ceramic bowl that held some sort of lotion in it and she rubbed generous amounts of it all over her body. After she had completed her grooming she ounce again donned the kimono that she had been given yesterday that had somehow been freshened and laid out during her sleep. Kagome sat down at the vanity a ran a brush threw her hair attempting to mimic the style that had been done yesterday after a few frustrating attempts she gave up and settled for her still long and smooth hair. Kagome heard a small tap on the door and told the person behind the screen to enter, it was Ade, he had come to see about her wound and she was surprised to see that it looked much better then it had yesterday. The skin was pink and new and it also was slightly tight and dimpled but there was no puss nor black skin as there had been yesterday.

 

“You are looking well, you heal much faster then the average human, If I didn't know better I would say you were a spirit” Ade stated in surprise though in truth he thought that is assumption may not be as far off at it seemed. Kagome watched as Ade ounce again rubbed the special slave onto her still healing skin.

 

“It may not scare if you continue to care for it properly, but you must be sure to use this salve everyday, it is made with aloe and demon acid” Ade said while continuing to rub the stuff on Kagome's shoulder. Ounce again Kagome began to feel that extreme burning sensation though not as bad as it had been yesterday then it became cool a soothing. So that's why it burns Kagome thought to her self. After a while of dressing the wound Ade stood and left leaving behind some salve and stating that it would be unnecessary for him to dress her wound anymore and that if she needed him just to call.

 

Kagome, deciding that she was famished, wondered into the hallway in search of the kitchen. Though she had been exploring the castle extensively she had yet to cross and kitchen so she decided to enter the dinning hall and go threw the doors that she had witnessed to servants coming out of. Upon entering the doors she was blown away by a huge mist of steam that smelled delicious and saw Rin sitting on a stool at the corner of the room at a small round counter. She sat down next to Rin and waited for a moment for the child to finish choking down her food,

 

“Kagome! Are you hungry? Will you pick flowers with me today? Did you sleep well?” she said ecstatically hardly stopping to breathe. Kagome giggled at the girl and was surprised when she saw a blue hand place a plate in front of her. Kagome turned and saw the demon that had been serving her for the past few days. She wore the same kimono that she had the first time and she had a beautiful aqua colored skin and frost colored eyes. She had short blue hair that was slicked back with some sort of animal fat. Kagome noticed that she also had slight webbing between her fingers. Kagome was slightly reminded of the sirens that would sing sailors to their deaths and wondered if she may be the demon that they were talking about.

 

“Thank you” Kagome muttered, the women only smiled and when Kagome looked closer she noticed why. Her stunning frosty blue lips had been sown together by a small silver thread that shimmered in the light, it was a magic thread that kept the girl from speaking.

 

“Um, will Sesshomaru be joining us” Kagome asked trying no to notice her mouth then proceeded to mentally kick herself for asking a women who couldn't speak a question. Kagome physically jumped when she herd the women's soft voice come no her mind.

 

“Sesshomaru takes his breakfast in his room, Rin takes it with us, you are welcome too join as long as you are a guest in Sesshomaru's home” she said. Kagome was immediately sure that she was in fact one of the sirens that she read about in Greek mythology, she had the most beautiful voice that even when she spoke it lulled her.

 

“Thank you” Kagome, said softly as she began eating the meal, Rin had stayed surprisingly quiet threw there entire conversation and Kagome suspected that she had heard the women's voice as well. After breakfast Kagome was taken out side by an ounce again excited Rin. They came to field that held thousands of wild flowers that Kagome and Rin danced in, each giggling and laughing hysterically. Kagome had not had this much fun in a long time even when she was in her world where the danger is minimal she still had the stress of the jewel and she was happy to get the vacation. Kagome hand was grabbed by Rin and pulled frantically to the side of the castle. They came around the building and stood at the doors of some sort of stable, upon entering Kagome almost fainted. In the stables Aun was there and next to him was a unicorn or as Kagome assumed a horse demon, along with that stunning horse there also held a Pegasus and other demons that apparently were ride-able. Kagome walked towards the tall broad unicorn that had caught her eye he was beautiful and huge! About the size of a Clydesdale but much more lean instead of bulky it had a long twisting pearl colored horn shooting from his head. Kagome gently touched his muzzle she was shaking with excitement at seeing here childhood fantasies coming to life. Rin stood behind her feeding Aun some oats out of the palm of her hand she turned and saw Kagome petting the good-natured horse Rin handed her another handful of oats to feed the animal. Kagome was astonished as she stood in awe of the great beast that towered over her. He was beautiful and Kagome was quickly falling in love with him, she had this great desire to simply jump on his back and let him run wild, but do to the fact that Kagome had never even ridden a horse she decided against that little idea. Kagome heard soft clicks across the stone tile that she stood upon looking to her left she saw a horses rear end sticking out of an open stall afraid that a horse may get loose Kagome walked toward the animal hopping to secure it inside its stall. As she neared the great animal lifted his head exposing a humans torso. Kagome was shocked ounce again which seemed to happen allot during her stay and the lord's castle. He had a huge bale of hay lifted onto his shoulder and was now looking down on Kagome with a sneering look on his face.

 

“Um, sorry to disturb you” Kagome stumbled over her words as she tried to apologize feeling vary small in font of his imposing presents. The beast only snorted in response as he heaved the hay over both his own and her head and tossed it into a stall for some animal to feed on.

 

“Are you the one that takes care of the animals?” Kagome asked in a slight voice. The man looked at her as if she was stupid, asking such a ridiculously obvious question.

 

“ I take it you are lard Sesshomaru's guest, well, you are welcome to stay here as long as you don't get in my way” he stated as he promptly walked around her to tend to the white elk that stood in the stall next to them. Rude much Kagome thought as she watched his broad back flex and twitch under the annoying flies. It was blatantly obvious that the man found her thoroughly annoying so, walking to up to Rin, who was now placing flowers in Aun's mane, she gently grabbed the girls hand and pulled her into the garden.

 

“What are we going to do now Miss Kagome?” rin asked in an excited voice.

 

“Well why not play… TAG!” Kagome yelled tapping the girl on the shoulder and then darting off into the garden and twirling around. Rin, now giggling hysterically, ran after Kagome in hopes of getting rid of her wretched curse as “the tagger.”

 

Unknown to both, Sesshomaru stood at the window of the house and stared at the two girls, but mostly at Kagome she had been getting his attention allot lately and it was beginning to concern him.

 

“How is her condition?” Sesshomaru asked the sitting Ade.

 

“She is doing well, she is a fast healer far faster then any humane and it is not do to my medicine, I do believe that she may be part spirit” Ade stated with a curious tone.

 

“I would like to look into it more,” Sesshomaru thought about it for a second. It would explain his mild attraction and her slightly inhumane sent. After a short contemplation Sesshomaru asked

 

“How long would it take you to find out?” a moments silence before Ade responded.

 

“Not long a simple spell is all that is necessary” after a few more minuets Sesshomaru dismissed Ade and proceeded out to the courtyard.

 

 

Kagome, busy with her child like play of tag didn't notice when Sesshomaru entered the yard but Rin stopped her play quickly to run and say hi to her generous father figure. Kagome quickly fixed her slightly disheveled kimono not really knowing why she even cared if she looked good in front of him or not. After Rin had finished smothering her sesshomarus legs in hugs Sesshomaru walked towards Kagome.

 

“Inuyasha is coming this way, he will want to meet with you” Kagome, having forgotten almost completely about Inuyasha these past few days, was slightly taken aback by this knowledge.

 

“Uh, thank you… for letting me stay here” Sesshomaru only gave a swift node to her reply before turning on his heal and heading back inside stopping at the entrance of the house to look back his eyes commanding Kagome to fallow him.

 

They entered the main hall just as a vary rude and violent half demon banged on the door making the door shake against it's locks. Kagome rolled her eyes at his abruptness thought she had to admit that she was flattered that he rushed here to see her. Another male servant rushed to answer the door barely sliding it open before a flash of red flew threw the door and ended right in front of Kagome.

 

“ Kagome did he hurt you? Did he touch you? Are you ok?” the frantic demon asked in one breath.

 

“Yes, I'm fine Inuyasha Sesshomaru has been more the hospitable” Kagome answered a smile on her face. Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and a smaller Kirara entered after him and stood in the doorway. Inuyasha turned to look at his brother.

 

“ What happened?” Inuyasha asked, his tone flat and serious. Sesshomaru shifted his body weight his stance becoming one of slight defense as if Inuyasha may rise to a fight at any second.

 

“She rescued my ward and was fatally wounded, I owed her a life debt” stated Sesshomaru simply. “She was staying here until she was recuperated” Inuyasha gave a soft sigh of relief. She is safe, I promise Kagome I will never let you get hurt again Inuyasha thought, protective of his future mate. They stood in silence nobody really knowing what to make of the situation.

 

“Lets go Kagome I'm taking you home” Inuyasha said as he pulled her towards the door. Kagome ignored Inuyasha and walked to Sesshomaru and gave a small bow.

 

“Thank you for all of your kindness, lord Sesshomaru” Kagome said before turning and heading to Inuyasha. Slightly jealous of Kagome's show of respect to his brother Inuyasha was quick to hurry Kagome out of the castle. Ounce outside Inuyasha was quick to swing Kagome onto his back and jump into the air towards his kaedes village.

 

“I didn't want Miss Kagome to go yet,” Rin said with a slight whine in her voice. Nether did I Sesshomaru thought to himself in confusion.

 

 

 

Kagome rode Inuyasha's fuming back to the village all the while thinking in disappointment at her leaving sesshomarus castle. Of course she was upset at not being able to have a bath and a toilet and the magnificent hair cream! But it was also something more, she didn't want to leave because she wanted to learn more about Sesshomaru. Ounce they got to the village Inuyasha made his decent to the ground with the rest of the group whom now crowded around Kagome and asked of her condition.

 

“Kagome!” screamed a flying fox demon as he flew into her chest and was held there. “ I missed you so much Kagome you won't ever leave again will you?” asked Shippo with tears welling in his big eyes.

 

“It's ok shippo I'm just fine you don't have to worry about me,” Kagome said giving the demon a reassuring squeeze. Inuyasha watched from a distance as they all commented and asked their questions. Inuyasha then took the time to really look at Kagome's appearance she looked beautiful. Her hair was down and falling to the center of her back the kimono she wore clung to every curve the modesty of it leaving more to the imagination and Inuyasha rather preferred it to her futuristic clothes that made her look like some trollop. After the commotion ended the group entered the hut so Kagome could ounce again be interrogated by Kaedes questions.

 

Inuyasha stood alone outside waiting for Kagome to be released from her worried friends. He wanted to hold her, he wanted so much simply to grab her and hold her in his arms giving her sweet kisses and promises of love and devotion. But no, he could not do that. Inuaysha sighed first things first he wanted her to go bathe she had that disgusting smell of Sesshomaru on her and he didn't like it one bit. A few minuets of waiting Kagome slowly emerged from her prison looking around for inuyasha. Inuaysha stepped forward into her field of vision,

 

“ You wanna take a bath?” Inuyasha asked knowing of a hot spring not far from here.

 

“Um, yes, I was going to go to the river” Kagome responded holding a towel and an old borrowed kimono from kaedes younger years. Not wanting to upset Inuyasha by wearing the priestess uniform. With a node of his head Inuyasha walked towards Kagome and kneeled with his back towards her. Kagome was surprised not expecting Inuyasha's sudden kindness, but climbed on tightening her legs around his waist at the jerk he gave when he lifted into the air to jump across the trees. Kagome hugged his back never fully getting used to the way his muscles flexed and moved under her body, she always loved doing this.

 

Inuyasha bounded tree to tree as he raced towards the hot spring knowing all to well what Kagome's reaction would be and smiled at himself she would be excited and probably laugh and smile at his surprise he loved it when she was happy. Landing at a small rock pool in the ground he let Kagome slid from his back. A sharp squeal came from Kagome's mouth as she saw the natural sauna in her gaze. Turning on her heel she threw her arms around Inuyasha.

 

“ O thank you Inuaysha! You didn't have to do that,” Kagome said releasing the dazed demon from her grasp.

 

“Feh” Inuaysha responded as he jumped into the trees and away from Kagome's affections. Though he was out of Kagome's sight he was not far away enough to loose his chance at a free show. Lounging on a tree not far from the pool he watched Kagome disrobe and slowly sink her bodying into the water. She was stunning, her beautiful skin that shined in the dwindling light of the day, her long thick tresses of black hair, and her figure that could kill. She was the epitome of humane perfection she had all the curves of a woman though her skin was soft and young and …innocent. Inuaysha was not as innocent as she, having indulged in pleasures of a women numbers of times in his life while she remained pure until her love came. And by god did Inuyasha hope to be that love. Inuyasha slowly became aroused by her bathing in front of him running her hands that held the soap up and down her body unknowing of the affects it was having on Inuyasha's mind and body.

 

Not far from Inuaysha sat another secret admire of Kagome's, Sesshomaru sitting peacefully in a tree down wind from Inuaysha's sensitive nose watched that female from afar. He could see that outline of Kagome's body how her young pert breast were thrust into the air as she arched her back to get the soap out of her hair and how she rubbed the soap innocently down her flat stomach. Though she was precisely 260 years younger then him did nothing to quell his hunger. The fact that she was humane was becoming less and less of a factor as he watched her. It would not be hard for him to turn her into a demon a simple spell and sacrifice was all that was needed. Sesshomaru was upset by his thoughts, she was a simple humane how could he continue to be so intrigued by her shaking his head he quickly jumped from the tree to return to his castle and think more on his thoughts about a women such as this.

 

Inuaysha herd something and as the wind changed he got the certain sent of Sesshomaru. Inuyasha let out a slight growl why on earth is he here? Inuyasha thought to himself jumping to the tree that Sesshomaru had frequently occupied. He's no longer here, damn! Inuaysha decided to return to watching Kagome though she was now out of the hot spring and drying herself off with a towel. Inuyasha watched in fascination as her body reacted to the surrounding temperatures her nipples becoming taunt to the cold air around her and she embarrassingly looking around as if afraid that some one was watching her. She dressed quickly in the pink and green kimono that kaede lent her tying a simple matching obi around her waist. When she was done she slowly turned to the direction that Inuaysha had walked in and shouted,

 

“Ok inuyasha I'm done now you can come here” Kagome stood and waited until Inuaysha entered the clearing and then ounce again mounting his back Inuaysha proceeded to carry her home well to his home. Setting Kagome down in front of kaedes hut he slowly turned towards her.

 

“Kagome… um…” Inuaysha tried to say something stumbling over his own words.

 

“Yes Inuaysha?” Kagome asked hoping to fuel whatever he was about to say. After a minuet of Inuaysha simply sitting there Kagome sighed and turned towards the hut and went to enter. As she turned to leave Kagome was all the sudden jerked backwards and twirled around into Inuaysha awaiting arms. Pulling her firmly against his chest Inuaysha put down his head and inhaled her tantalizing sent. Inuyasha held onto Kagome tighter tears sting his eyes as he thought of all the horrible things that may have happened to her had she not been so lucky.

 

“I will never let anything hurt you Kagome” Inuaysha said holding Kagome close sliding his hands on her waist holding her hips to his, attempting to arrange as much contact as he possibly could. Kagome was shocked but thrilled at Inuyasha's close proximity she raised her arms slightly to hold around Inuyasha's waist.

 

“I know Inuyasha” Kagome said her voice soft and timid. All the sudden in one fluid motion Inuaysha was now turned away from her and vary embarrassed.

 

“Get some rest, you need to go see your mother tomorrow she is vary worried” Inuaysha said trying to forget the embarrassing thing he just did before jumping to one of the many hide out trees that he had in this area. A small smile lit Kagome's face as she remembered the way Inuaysha muscles flexed and moved as he hugged her, the way he radiated heat towards her body. Kagome felt a blush rise into her cheeks and turned swiftly on her heel and into the cabin, laying down to get a nights rest. It certainly has been an interesting pass few days hasn't it Kagome thought drifting into a sleep and involved a romantic demon lord.
