Chapter 10

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha.

“Jin, hey, come on in. I need you to figure out what is wrong with Inuyasha and Kagome.” Jisho said allowing Jin to enter, hugging him as he did so. Souta glared at the new guy suspiciously. He got this weird feeling that he couldn’t shake off. He let it slide, since Jisho seemed to be so comfortable around him.

Jin nodded and walked over to the two obvious people on the couch. He sat on the floor and closed his eyes. While he was concentrating, Jisho whispered quietly to the others that he was very good with potions. He was a master potion maker and could tell most apart. In but a few minutes he spoke.

“They have been poisoned…” He said, his blue eyes flicking up at Jisho. “No doubt by Naraku! I’ve used this very brand myself at one point…” He looked in his bag and pulled out two vials of bluish liquid. He handed them to Jisho. “Give these to them and they should be fine. You’re lucky you called me. If you had waited a day more they….” He looked at everyone and saw how they were looking at him with utter confusion on their faces.

“Excuse me, I’m Souta. Kagome is my sister. Who are you, and how do you know about Naraku?” Souta demanded stepping up.

He sighed. “My name is Yuujingi. I, like Jisho, work for Naraku. I trained our sweet little Jisho, she may have been able to quit, but I am bound to Naraku, he holds my soul. I am with you guys in destroying him. I will do whatever it takes to help you!” Jin said slightly bowing. While he was explaining himself, Jisho had given the two the vials.

‘My stepfather…He had trained murderers at hand…Yet he hasn’t sent someone to kill Kagome until now…What’s with this guy!?’

Kagome and Inuyasha seemed to be regaining their colors. A sigh of relief was shared around the room.

They all sat in a semi-circle on the floor in front of the TV, excluding Kagome and Inuyasha who were on the couch, flipping through the channels and talking.

Jin had gotten up to use the restroom. As soon as he was out of earshot, Sango started talking to Jisho.

“I don’t know Jisho…there’s just something about that guy…” She said hugging her knees to her chest.

“I agree Jisho…He may be helping us, but I think he has a hidden agenda.” Souta said pulling Jisho closer to him. She smiled slightly up at him and shook her head, laughing.

“You guys don’t know Jin like I do! He’s a really sweet guy. If he hadn’t been forced to kill people, I know he wouldn’t! He told me…” She said the last part quietly looking at the floor and remembering the past…

Flashback-

A young girl sat on the floor of a stone room crying. A young man quietly crept in and took her in his arms.

“Jisho; what’s wrong sweetheart?” He said quietly stroking her hair. “Are you ok? Did something horrible happen to you on your mission today?”

She sniffled and shook her head. “No Jin. It’s Naraku!” Tears escaped from her eyes. “He had me kill a woman today. He ordered me to kill her newborn child as well…” Jin’s eyes widened and he hugged her close. ‘How could someone be so cold hearted as to want to kill and innocent new born!?’ he thought incredulously.

“I couldn’t do it though. He found out!!” Jin held her at arms distance and looked her in the eyes.

“What did he do to you?” He demanded with a look of sorrow on his face.

Jisho held out her arm to show him the bruises and cuts that had ruined her perfectly smooth skin.

‘He’s a bastard!’ he thought, ‘He beat a nine year old girl for not being heartless enough to kill a baby!’

He leaned forward and kissed her wrist. He kissed every cut and scrape he could find. He loved this girl with all of his heart and it hurt him for her to be in pain.

He vowed at that moment to do whatever it would take to save Jisho from Naraku.

-End of flashback

“Jisho, are you alright?” Souta asked looking at her concerned. A cloud of sadness had formed above her.

“I’m fine Souta, I’m just thinking about something.” She said leaning up to kiss him. She leaned back and laid her head on his chest, but she couldn’t stop thinking about that moment.

‘What had Jin been thinking when he found that out?’ She wondered.

Just then Jin came back from the bathroom and when he seen Jisho was looking at him he smiled shyly at her. She leaned up and kissed Souta again. She knew that Jin loved her, but she just didn’t love him in that way ‘Not anymore…not ever again…not after what I seen him do…’ She shook her head to rid her of such thoughts.

Later that night after Souta’s breathing had quieted and she knew that he was asleep she allowed her mind to wander. She kept coming back to the night her heart was broken and she started working heartlessly for Naraku.

Flashback-

She was running to Jin’s room to tell him about her wonderful day. Whenever she got near to his room, she stopped. She could hear yelling and screaming coming from it. She quietly went to the door; it was cracked, so all she had to do was peak in. She didn’t like what she saw.

Jin was screaming at a young woman. She had a young child clutched in her arms. Jisho recognized the baby as the same one that she had been ordered to kill. Her heart leapt out to the little boy. She could clearly remember naming the little guy and putting him up for adoption after she had went back to the alley where his mother’s dead body lay.

‘Naraku must have found out his whereabouts…’ she thought sadly. ‘But wait! Jin! He…Oh my god, no!’ Tears started streaming down her cheeks. She watched in horror as Jin killed the young woman, and Jisho put her hands over her face and ran from the room.

She couldn’t believe that Jin had killed the mother of the baby she had saved. She had named him, Shippou…That little boy would always have a spot in Jisho’s heart. She had no idea what Jin had done to Shippou; she didn’t even want to think about such things.

She ran to Naraku’s chamber and knocked quietly on the door. She heard some shuffling and then Naraku appeared.

“What do you want little girl? Have you done more to betray me?” He looked angry. Jisho peered in to his room and noticed that she had interrupted something important.

Naraku was finishing putting his belt on and stepped out in to the corridor to speak to her.

“Well? What is it?” He demanded.

“Umm...Naraku…” Jisho said looking at him. “I have decided to willingly do as you have wanted of me since I have started working for you…” tears started falling down.

Naraku’s mood changed completely. He was (
-gasp- you would never have guessed this!!??) nice! He took Jisho in his arms and hugged her.

-End of flashback

Jisho snuggled closer to Souta and buried her face into his chest. She was crying shaking sobs. She had tried to forget that moment for a long time. She had forgotten but now that she remembered, she couldn’t stop crying. She blamed Jin for what happened. It had only been a few years ago.

Souta awoke to Jisho sobbing in his arms. He was confused and worried. He asked her what was wrong. She hesitated, but once her crying had subsided, she told him everything. She poured her heart out to him and told him everything. She realized that she could tell Souta anything and everything. She told him how she was supposed to be a cold-hearted assassin. She told him how that little baby boy had her heart. She felt like she had saved the world, just by not killing that little boy. She told him how Jin had crushed her heart. She never knew if he killed the little boy or not. She wished with her whole heart he were still alive.

“Oh Souta! I love you!” She cried out flinging her arms around his neck and burying her face in his neck. The boy looked genuinely shocked.

“I…love you too…Jisho…” He smiled and kissed the top of her hair, wrapping his arms protectively around her.

My brother is going to be home for a little while, I just wanted to update in case I wouldn’t be able to for a while. Please let me know what you thought!
