Sesshoumaru remembered the little girl.
She was not afraid of him. She'd offered him food when he was injured. Even though he didn't eat human food, it was a nice gesture. He wondered where she came from and why she didn't talk.
Now she lay there, motionless, as demons came to claim her. He pitied the little girl.
To Jaken's surprise, he unsheathed the Tenseiga.
He also surprised himself a little. He was the Lord of the Western Lands, and was immune to weak human emotions. Yet, this human girl stirred something inside him he couldn't explain.
Was he really going to save her?
He hesitated, but kept his face blank.
He despised humans, for their fragility and emotions. Also, because of what they can do to demons.
He remembered what happened to his father, the great dog demon. And also what happened with his half-brother. His father and Inuyasha fell in love with humans, and it made them weak. In the end, they paid for their mistake with their lives.
Sesshoumaru will not make such a mistake. He made a slight move to sheath the sword.
Still…
Something about that little girl, lying there, helpless.What should I do?
Sesshomaru raised the sword.
